Been trying to get over there since they opened and I finally had some time today. Went right after brunch & ordered 2 smothered chicken dinners, both w Mac & cheese & the others with red beans & rice & collard greens. Some of the best Mac & cheese I've ever eaten at a Soulfood spot. Seasoned to perfection, creamy, gooey & the noodles were perfectly cooked. Red beans and rice reminded me of New Orleans style and they were excellent. I didn't try the collard greens, but my Pot'nuh said they were on point! I believe his taste buds.... Now let's get to the main entrée! A little bit of the gravy got on my finger when I was unpacking the plates.... (because I took them to go.) and when I licked my finger, I knew I was in for a treat! This fried chicken was seasoned like our ancestors lives dependent on it! I'm serious. It taste like something my grandmother made back in Oklahoma!! Wait wait!! Then they put this smothered chicken on the bed of rice dressing or dirty rice.... I don't know what it is, but it is off the hook! SMH smh ‍ Now I can't lie, the prices were a little higher than I expected, but they give you enough food for two meals. So the smothered chicken was $28 and if I break that down, I just split it in half and look at it like $15 a meal. Worth the price to me. I will definitely be back and I'm glad the place seems to be doing great! It was packed with folks after church in their Sundays BEST lookin & smelling good!! Great ambience and the young lady at the register was sweet as she wanted to be!! Nothing but great reviews from this Guyy!! Keep up the great work!

I eventually got tired of the same food every week but we occasionally ordered here and there - most recently for May 4th. Unfortunately someone packed the wrong food into the bag with my name - annoying but resolved with a few phone calls and texts back and forth. We were told to put the incorrect food outside for pickup and they delivered our "correct" order. Chris Navarro, I sure hope you got fresh food since strangers unpacked your food and touched it before they realized it wasn't theirs. Now the reason for this negative review? They were out of brown rice so said they would send along a sub and refund the brown rice. Tell me why I haven't gotten this refund and have to chase it with no reply when the refund wasn't even something I asked for. I would have rather gotten my correct food without having to waste my time fixing their mistake.

On Sunday, July 5, at 10:55 a.m., I received a text explaining that an unexpected equipment malfunction late Saturday, July 4, had affected their production schedule. I was given the option to receive a credit toward the following week's order or a full refund. I replied that same day requesting a full refund. I followed up on Tuesday, July 7, and was told that refunds typically take three to five business days. By July 13, I still had not received the refund, so I reached out again but received no response. I followed up once more on July 14 and again received no response or refund. This is especially disappointing because I had been ordering meal-prep meals from them on and off for more than a year. I understand that unexpected problems happen, but a business should communicate with its customers and promptly issue refunds when promised.

I am on my third set of meals, and I really love it so far. I think it is a great value for the convenience and quality and I like their selection and diversity. Communication is consistent and great, any issues I can directly communicate with someone and it will be handled right away. News to me, but whatever- food is food. The burgers were actually decent, albiet a bit sloppy in construction. The Feel the Burn was your classic burger and was supposed to be a little spicy, though I thought it could use more. I liked the moderate sweetness to it though. Wife had the Spill the Bourbon burger and thought it was pretty good also, but didn't really taste the Bourbon. Also liked the sweetness though. Fries for both were a little bland, but good size for dipping. All in all, it satisfied our hunger. Only thing needing improvement was packaging (bag sealing was sloppy), burger construction, and salt the fries more. Smart move of Denny's to rename to compete with all the other newer, more hip and trendy restaurants...now just gotta keep it consistent and tasty!
