Service is superb. Food is excellent. The decor and ambiance is splendid. The waitstaff is very pleasant, attentive and friendly. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food. My only qualm is, during dinner service, the overhead lighting is turned off and small lamps are placed on the tables. My old eyes find it hard to see the menu. I used my phones flashlight. I've been a few times now, I've brought friends and family. I will definitely be back. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday. Ordered with no issues. Food arrived with the wrong side. Was rectified easily. Very tasty. Although i was notca fan of their street corn! No flavor...almost tasted like something was wrong with the corn itself. Love the decor and presentation of drinks. (See video) parking lot is tight. read more

I went to try this place out the other day and had a terrible experience. I liked their salsa that came with the chips and my drink was nice, but the service was poor. my waitress was very snippy and kept reminding my friend that I needed my ID when I had gone out to the car to get my bag. My friend said that she interrupted her multiple times. The food portion was so small for a hefty price imo. I also had to deal with a fly swarming around my table the entire time. The restaurant was decorated nicely. I had ordered a drink and sent it back because I didn't like how it tasted and they still tried to make me pay for it. I will probably not be coming back. read more

Casa Azul - this is their signature cocktail - Mexican Near Me - Gastonia, North Carolina

Food was good, server was a bit snippy with me and cut me off multiple times. She was sweet otherwise, my friend that was with me ordered an alcoholic beverage that she did not like so she did not drink it and requested something non-alcoholic instead, and they said that they would be charging her for the drink regardless. I understand alcohol costs and food costs but that's pretty unusual for the restaurant industry. Regardless, we ate, and the meal was alright. The manager checked on us once to see how we were doing and I appreciated the sentiment. The ambiance in here is glorious and beautiful but their prices are a tad outrageous for some medium quality food. ‍ 87$ for two meals, one appetizer, and what ended up being two non alcoholic beverages is pretty fucking crazy. Will not be returning, unfortunately, $15 for a non alcoholic beverage is laughable. The manager had to come over and explain that they have no way of charging people for "non-alcoholic" drinks and that they would charge you for the alcohol whether it's served to you or not. read more

At around 2 pm, I went to Casa Azul for the very first time. Upon entry, I observed the beautiful murals and artwork. Inside it was just as beautiful & cozy. I was greeted by a pleasant hostess who seated me. There are booths & stand alone tables for 4. They also have a nice bar area. They brought me out fresh tortilla chips & salsa! It was very good. However, before I could enjoy my chips & salsa they brought out my main course. The place wasn't that crowded, so I understood why it came out so fast. Meanwhile,, the only issue I had was that the food was not hot, it was fairly warm, but not hot. It was also cold in the restaurant, more than I would've liked it, so that could've contributed to my food being warm, instead of hot. But, overall my meal tasted very flavorful, fresh & it was cooked to perfection. The prices are a little steep, so next time I will go during lunch hours. I will definitely be visiting here, again, real soon!!!!! read more

Great service, excellent food! Only thing is, I was charged $14 for a VIRGIN mojito that didn't even have mint inside of the drink. Posting pics of menu for pricing reference since they don't have it on their website read more

So I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. As I walked in, the décor was amazing. It's beautiful inside and spacious. The waitresses who served our large party worked very hard and were kind. Even though there were so many of us, they answered all our questions. I ordered the Burrito Fajita which was really good. I wish it had more filling but I was okay with what was inside. The queso covering the burrito was a nice touch. I also really loved the red sangria. It was so good. I wanted a second but had to pass because I was driving. I split the queso with another person and I really liked it too. I definitely will be back in the near future and so should you. read more

First time dining here and I must say I was very pleased and impressed with everything. Great atmosphere and the friendly staff worked hard to please. The food was well presented and looked and tasted amazing. It was a busy Wednesday evening with a couple birthdays being celebrated at other tables where the staff comes out presenting the desert and singing Happy Birthday (would have been better in Spanish but everyone loved it). We will be coming back for sure bringing friends and family to experience this awesome restaurant. read more

Wow!!!The best experience in Gastonia!! This is a beautiful restaurant. When you walk in, you're greeted by a staff that is so warm and welcoming. The entry way to the restrooms is so beautiful that you would have to take a selfie! The dinning area is so beautiful, colorfully decorated with tradition. Now to the best part (drum role) THE FOOD!!! I love street corn but OH MAN, their street corn in a bowl is amazing! That is a meal by itself!!! The drinks were beautiful and absolutely delicious!! I have pictures of my sisters' plate and they all looked delicious! I had the ACP VIP!! The name fits the deliciousness. They are definitely not serving kid size dinners unless you order one! This restaurant will always be my first choice for Wine and Dine! If you haven't been, then you are missing the best opportunity to eat and fill loved and festive at the same time!! read more

Another first visit for my husband and myself and I will admit that some of the food was good but I can't say the same for the service. For starters our food was placed on the table next to us so I requested a remake on the portion of my food that the other customer touched and breathed over. I was given the wrong order but because I had not eaten all day I kept it. The refried beans and rice were not good at all. Not sure if I will return to this establishment and I Definitely would not recommend if asked. My husband said his 3 tacos were okay but not better than tacos 4 life and I feel the same about the refried beans. I understand the ambiance they aim for but having had eye surgery it really is irritating to have to use my flashlight just to be able to read the menu. We received the couple seated next to us check, yup the same couple who they gave our food to. Like I said service was not good. read more

Food good. We were seated next to where they make the guacamole fresh. I noticed that each order that they do they use the same bowl with guacamole left in bowl from the previous order. We were at the table for an hour and they kept mixing in the same bowl. Service -fair Ambiance- music too loud. Hard to talk at your table. read more

If I could give Casa Azul 100/5 stars, I would! From the very first bite, I caught myself saying "mmm" and "oh my god" -- the food is that good. Every dish is packed with flavor, beautifully made, and absolutely unforgettable. The atmosphere is the perfect mix of laid-back and stylish, and our server, Kevin, was outstanding -- friendly, attentive, and on point the entire time. Service was quick, the restaurant was spotless, and the prices were more than fair for the quality. My husband had the enchiladas, and I ordered the ACP Texano -- both were phenomenal. Truly, there's not a single negative thing I could say. Casa Azul was 100% worth the drive from Charlotte, and after living all over the U.S., I can honestly say this is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. read more

The food was not good. I ordered the chipotle chicken. It was awful from the first to the second. I couldn't eat anything, . They put us right behind a cackling of hens. We couldn't even talk because of it. We are not going back. read more

Excellent food and service. We enjoyed the festive decor and ambiance, too. We'll be back!

The food is excellent and decor is wonderful. Service was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant. i

Food is very bland. Burrito meat seems boiled not flame grilled like most restaurants. Went for my wife's bday. Ordered two drinks, food came out before drinks. Food was delivered within 10 minutes of ordering which shows how quickly they throw it together. Food seems to have no seasoning, all was very bland. Wife ordered Carne Asada, it's like they don't know how to prepare it. Carne should have some grill marks, this did not. It was all very strange. read more

Very unprofessional staff and management. We went with a group of 9 we were told 25 to 30 minutes max . We then waited an hour later and were skipped with a group that arrived afterwards, I understand mistakes happened but after a customer walked in he asked how long we had been waiting and we answered an hour. Apparently management did not like that but never came to talk to us or apologize for the delay . At one point we asked if they knew how much long and we were told they were not sure . Never one to make these type of post but very upset with the service . Not sure about the food since we left after receiving stares from all the staff as they were talking how they did not like. A customer even asked us on her way out how we were doing as she waited , ate and then left super sweet customer . read more

Went today first time service was warm and spot on , ambiance a little over kill somewhat gaudy not a fan at all though of food very bland, chips where good just not a good food experience, chef should use more spices to enhance taste . The food was delicious!! My hubby had Camarrones Al Ajo & I Carne Asada...wanted to bring the chef home with us. I enjoyed half of it the next day for breakfast. The portions are hefty also. Have been there 3 times since they opened and each time has gotten progressively worse. The first time was great, 2nd pretty good but last night was just OK. Service was pretty good but waitress didn't know alot. My friend's dish was room temperature. When we asked about it, the waitress said it usually comes out that way. My soup was hot but very bland, which it normally isn't. I asked for butter (for tortillas) and waitress wasn't sure they had any. She was waiting to ask another server who was busy, so I told her nevermind. Lights were too bright, place was not clean, and wait staff was loudly complaining about someone "not doing their job". Think I'll wait a while to try again and see if returns to its former greatnes. read more

We have visited twice and both times the restaurant was packed. Parking was a bit of a hassle on the second trip as it is one of not the best Mexican Restaurants in the area. I loved the decor in part because my daughter has always been enamored with Frida Kaho. That tribute to her and the culture in general is excellent. We had margaritas the second time as the first time we visited they didn't have a license yet. The margaritas were delicious but a bit small for the price. The first visit and server was far better than our second time. The second server was inexperienced and missed certain processes like bringing chips and salsa (had to be requested) and bringing silverware (had to be requested.) The food was good but could have a little more protein in the fajitas (shrimp), Tamales were somewhat disappointing and the third entree we ordered (combination) was very good. Overall, still a positive experience and a restaurant that feels fancy. read more
