I'm terrible with names, but I believe his name was Bob?...he was the one who showed up and not only installed 3 new deadbolts and hardware in a quick amount of time, but also gave me some advice on maintenance and small things that may come up that would be an easy fix on my own over time (such as, if the thumb strike on the door handle were ever to start jiggling, etc...). That may seem obvious, but for me, let me know he was going above and beyond. To top it all off, they were THE most reasonably priced locksmith's that I contacted. Reasonable price without sacrificing any service, and if anything, went above and beyond. I really suggest using them in the RVA area if you need a locksmith!

Okay... no harm done, but this should be a 2-star review…read more Be aware that Angelia's is ONLY a mobile service. I don't see any mention of it on his Yelp page. It's a guy in a truck who'll come to your house or car or whatever, and that's awesome... but he should be CLEAR about it so people don't waste their (and his) time with other needs. I have 3 new, uninstalled, locks to re-key and called to get Angelia's address so I could bring them by. To his credit, he told me up front it's a $65 charge just to show up, then a nominal re-keying charge per lock. I told him the locks were still in their packages, and that I didn't want to pay for travel, and he informed me it's just a mobile locksmith, no office/workshop where I could bring the locks. The rates seemed fair, and I don't begrudge the guy his travel charge, but I didn't need or want to pay for mobile locksmith service and wouldn't have called him had I known there's no there there. Then I asked him if he could recommend another good locksmith, a colleague or someone he's friend's with perhaps, with a storefront. He laughed with unconcealed derision, and said, "You think I'd send business to a competitor? I don't _have_ any friends. MY FRIEND IS MONEY. You can look it up yourself." I said, Yep... you're right. I will. He wasn't intentionally offensive about it, but I'll never call him again. He's got no sense of serving the needs of his (potential) customers and I wouldn't want him opening my car door. I've had vendors refer me to their competitors when my needs didn't fit their services, even when there might be some competitive overlap. I always respect a business that does that, and I do it with my own business... but this guy? It's all about the CASH, baby. Again... I didn't use his service, and he may be the best locksmith ever to walk the earth. The third star is a gift given his brushoff treatment.

save time and money by coming to ducks you can get what you've done in less than two minutes…read more What I didn't know is that Duck's Locksmithing has been here for five years! I recently bought a car off a friend for $1,000. He gave me two keys, but I lost one. I figured I'd save money and DIY it, so I ordered a kit off Amazon for about $90 and two keys for $22. I brought everything to Duck's, and they easily cut the key for me. Here's my recommendation: Come here first! It'll save you time and money. When I tried to program the remote, I found out the system already had keys loaded. Long story short, I could've been in and out in less than a minute--but instead, I spent two hours trying to figure it out myself. I highly recommend Duck's Locksmithing. Don't try to do it all on your own. I would've saved at least $100 if I'd just come here first!

This company has no respect for human life. My father, who has never received a single traffic…read moreticket in his life, was in severe pain from a tooth infection and had a swollen face. In distress and barely thinking clearly, he parked in a fire lane for just a few hours. We fully understand that it was against the law -- but his prescribed pain medication was inside the car when it was towed. I called and politely explained the situation, told them it was a medical emergency, and that he needed to take his medicine every 6 hours. Their response was cold and careless. After hours of pleading, I was told someone would get back to me -- but no one ever did. By 12:30 AM, there was still no call, no help, and my dad was left suffering all night. I even texted -- my message was read, but no one replied. By morning, after my dad had endured the entire night in pain and without sleep, I called again and was told we could retrieve the car. When my mom arrived, things got even worse. There wasn't even an office -- just a girl who came outside and asked for her ID. When my mom explained that her husband hadn't slept all night because his medication was locked in the car, the girl looked her straight in the face and said, "I don't care." That was her exact response -- no empathy, no professionalism, no basic human decency. To make matters worse, the car had scratch almond size that weren't there before, and they took no responsibility, even after my mom pointed it out right there. Just like they strictly enforce their towing policies and claim on their website to be open 24 hours, I wish they showed the same urgency when someone is in crisis. A car is like a person's home -- people often have essential items inside. What if someone died not having access to what they need? What if someone had to sleep outside because their house keys were inside? What if someone with a disability was left stranded without their medical device? This company is run by people with zero compassion, no professionalism, and no sense of decency. What we experienced wasn't just bad service -- it was cruel, cold, and heartless. If you care at all about being treated like a human being, stay far away from this place.
