I went a month or so ago and I'm looking forward to going again. The front office was super nice. I like how calm the space itself is. I will say my masseuse was a little tardy but I need to practice patience anyway. She still did a full hour so I really have nothing to complain about. I went in for deep tissue, and I GOT deep tissue. (The last couple times I've asked at different places I felt I got soft-medium.) granted I'm smaller in frame, when I need to unlock my seized muscles that's really what I'm looking for and Cary Massage delivered. I have hip and shoulder issues from the Military, I explained what and how the pain is. My masseuse took the time and energy to listen and work with me on my problem areas. It's dim as soon as you walk into the reception area, immediately setting your mind and body in relax mode. Once checked-in they have you sit in the relaxation room, where they have two seating areas with sounds of beach waves playing in the background. They also have a water area to highdrate until your masseuse is ready to come and walk you into the massaging room, it really sets your mind and body for the experience. My masseuse is Becca, the first time I came I had severe pain along my upper back. I am not sure what she did, but a day or two after the pain was gone. I knew at that point I was coming back! I have had several Deep Tissue Massage sessions with her and she's amazing! Since then, I've come back 2 times, for different issue, and each time Becca does amazing! Had a huge kink in my neck. I ended up calling Cary massage and got it relatively quickly. My masseuse that I had today was a young lady named Becca, who was a 22 year old girl who was phenomenal! She explained all the things she does as well as the different add-ons that were offered. She was very personable and easy to talk to during the massage as well. I ended up getting a deep tissue massage with a little bit of cupping. The muscles in my body felt a lot better and I Have a lot more ease moving my head left to right and the muscles feel a little bit more relaxed. I've been checking out local massage practices, as I just moved to Raleigh. I've gotten professional massages for almost 10 years as a way to manage my health. Additionally, I'm a massage therapist too, so meeting my high standards has been a tricky task. This one is by far the most professional & impeccable practices I've been to, on every level. I appreciated their intake form, as it not only asked about past surgeries & medications being taken, but also listed specific medical conditions that could contraindicate different modalities of massage. I can tell practitioners are motivated to do no harm. I loved how the waiting room was separate from the greeting area. It provided a place to calm down before the session, & eliminated the awkwardness of trying to use the bathroom beforehand. The receptionists were both friendly & informative. I was lucky to have Anna as my therapist for a 90 minute myofasical release massage. She was INCREDIBLE. She was on par with some of the teachers I learned from in school. I would feel honored to learn from her, because I can tell she's had years of experience, & puts her heart & soul into her work. Some things I liked about Anna's massage: -She was very clear in her directions, & she was also considerate of the things I'd written on the intake form. I could tell she paid attention to what I wrote. I didn't have to spend 5-10 mins before the session detailing what works for me. -She kept it light! It's really hard to find therapists who actually listen to me when I tell them I want lighter pressure. -She massaged my abdomen. Abdominal massage helps me release tension from a surgery I had when I was a baby. It also helps me breathe with more ease. I NEEDED that. -Her draping was perfect! I felt safe the entire time. Her method was non-invasive, precise, & artful. I aspire to be able to move around a client as gracefully, & mindfully, as she does. -She touched every muscle that I can name off the top of my head. I could tell she knew her anatomy & kinesiology. She helped me understand where I was holding tension, without even saying a word to me. She managed to address every area on my body in 90 minutes. Her time management was amazing. -I LOVED the oil she used. It felt like velvet on my skin. I don't usually like to use oil, just lotion. I couldn't tell the difference. The oil was high quality, didn't irritate my skin, & didn't smell overpowering at all. Some things I liked about the practice as a whole: -Friendly staff that met me where I was at with my day, & made me feel safe the second I stepped inside the doors. -I loved the little bins in the rooms to put my belongings in. It was easy for me to gather my things afterwards, & I didn't leave my jewelry behind on accident. -Clear directions, clear communication, and transparency. It seems like the practice is big on making sure that clients know what's happening with changes being made within the practice. I saw a very clear letter posted throughout the building, letting customers know about an upcoming price increase. I valued that because a lot of places aren't transparent with customers on price increases. -The website was easy to navigate. I knew exactly how much I'd be paying for any given modality that I asked for. Again, as a therapist, this is important to me because often times, an average client doesn't understand the difference between varying modalities, & why some are more difficult to perform than others. I felt at peace knowing that therapists are being compensated fairly for the modality they're performing. -Clean environment. I was never concerned about the building, or rooms. I can tell the staff takes great pride & care in keeping the environment (and bathroom) organized, clean, & comforting. The room was peaceful. The layout was well thought out & welcoming for all types of people/backgrounds. All in all, I highly recommend this place. I have nothing but inspiration and peace after my session. The massage itself was fine. I didn't have an issue with it. She made sure check in and ask if the pressure was to my liking. And she also communicated to me that I could request a change in pressure. However, I have personal reasons for not returning... - When I walked in, I spoke to the front desk attendant. Her response... "Last name." I'm used to some sort of greeting/friendliness when I go to massage parlors or spas. - I used a Groupon so I pulled it up during checkout and she told me I was good to go. I had ask her could I use my card to leave a tip. She didn't even ask me if I wanted to leave a tip. That seemed a bit odd to me. Basically, I just didn't get good/friendly vibes from the front desk. And there are many places in the Raleigh area with quality massage therapists that have more parking spaces so I don't see myself returning. read more

Ruthie is more than a masseuse. She understood my muscles in a way that I felt so cared for like a physician. I never had the trigger point massage, which I booked for 60 minutes just by reading the massage name. Ruthie told me all about it in a mini-lesson and felt confident with continuing with the massage since it felt like what I needed - to work on locations with tensions and finding its trail with slow and focal pressure. I felt all my trigger points and was so surprised with how well she knew where they were with her touch. I feel relaxed and even look forward to the sore days up ahead. It is a more expensive massage place than others, but they provide really thoughtful care from the moment of check-in to check-out. Think of this as a luxurious treatment for a stubborn pain. There's no pressure to sign up for anything and to simply just relax for what you already signed up for. My boyfriend and I got our first professional full-body massages here for a great price! Cary Massage offers much better deals than others in the area. We opted for the Swedish hot stone couples massage, which was very relaxing and a great experience. We weren't sure what to expect with the hot stones, but they turned out to be a great addition, as they added an extra warmth to the massage. The location is kept dim for ambiance and the room felt a bit cramped with both of us in there, but the massage beds were clean and comfortable. Went in for a massage after a very long road trip to help work out some of the muscle tension. The massage helped quite a bit. So great on that front. However, the massage therapist spent a lot of time walking around to room to grab things -oils, hot stones etc. I am not exaggerating, for every couple of minutes, she would step away. My massage therapist was perfect. Linda was very experienced and reassuring to me, since I told her this was only the 3rd massage I've had in my lifetime. My only complaint was about the unnecessary Christian imagery planted throughout the business. In the small dark lobby, there are two chairs that face what appears as a shrine to an old leather-bound bible. It lies open, in the center of a buffet table, illuminated by a single lamp. In the waiting room to the right of the lobby, on the way to the bathroom where I was told I must wash my hands (COVID-19 protocol), there is a large canvas on the wall that is covered in writing about God's promises or plans for his people, with biblical references. I do not find these things relaxing or welcoming in any way. I see them as divisive and unwelcoming. I would like to see the massage therapist again, but I feel uncomfortable giving money to a business that makes me feel so alienated. read more

The sign out front was a bit surprising and could be offensive to those not in the Christian religion. There was more of that inside. The place was dark and I felt like I was in church. Awesome spot! I have been to this shop 3 weeks in a row, and have had only good experiences. The masseurs are very knowledgable and helpful. As far I can tell the Jesus portrait has been taken down. I actually enjoy the hymns that are played in the waiting room, as they're piano only. If aren't familiar with hymns, I can't imagine you'd find the music offensive. As far as directions- as long as you can read an address, it's easy to find. Even in the dark, I had no trouble at all locating the building. My boyfriend and I came here to receive a couples massage and boy did it really turn our weekend around! My boyfriend and I pretty active together and we had been looking forward to this massage for weeks! The place is extremely clean, welcoming, soothing, and relaxed. We originally signed up for one swedish and one deep tissue 45-minute long massage. After some reviewing and consulting, my boyfriend ended up getting more of a thai focused massage. He has tight hips sometimes and was really hoping to focus more on that area. His masseuse was fantastic. Afterwards, she offered a lot of tips to help him stretch our that area more. My masseuse was also wonderful - she focused on my lower back which I had requested in the beginning. She was gentle but also applied a perfect amount of pressure. After two to three weeks of worsening back pain, I finally decided to get a massage. The lobby area and all facilities were clean and tastefully decorated. The ladies at the front and the massage therapist were all pleasant. The massage started on time and was quite relaxing. The day after my massage, my pain decreased significantly to the point of being barely noticeable. I looked online to try to book another appointment with the same massage therapist, but she appears booked on the weekends for the next few weeks! There do appear to be others available, though. Went for a couples massage with my mom and it was honestly the best place I have been to for a massage! My masseuse did an amazing job and accommodated every request I had to personalize the massage. I told her about some areas in my back and shoulder area where I wanted her to focus on and she did a great job remembering that. She asked me about my health and throughout the massage she kept asking if I was comfortable and if pressure was fine. She is new to Cary Massage so there was a promo for 50% off. The staff is so incredibly nice and there's a relaxation room you can hang out in before and after the massage. They give complimentary cookies and water as well. Jeanie is amazing! I originally went to Cary Massage because my husband gave me a gift certificate, and I was fortunate enough to be scheduled with Jeanie. After my first visit, I've been a regular customer. The customer service, atmosphere, etc. is great. Very clean, relaxing and soothing. All that said, Jeanie is what makes it for me. Not only does she provide a wonderful massage, but she takes the time to work on any problem areas I may have and gives me tips for how to maintain/relieve those areas at home. She's super smart and knowledgable (when I have an issue, she's able to explain exactly what's causing it) and knows what she's doing. I can't say enough great things about her. After several sketchy attempts with Groupon's... I broke down and found a highly rated massage location close to home. I had been to Massage Envy and told myself I would never go to a place that forced you into a "membership" because sometimes you have the time and money and sometimes you don't. Cary Massage has person answers the phone that wants to make an appointment that will work for you, not their schedule. I was happy to learn they only have women massage therapist. One my first visit back in March I was given Diantha and she was wonderful. I purchased a 45 minute deep tissue massage because my upper back/right shoulder was in pain from sitting at a desk typing all day. She not only worked the numerous knots out of my back but she explained to me how they occur, what I could do to make my chair/desk more comfortable, and had a great conversation about gluten free diets. I get that some people don't like to talk while they get a massage, but I find it more therapeutic. At check out i immediately signed up for another massage a few weeks later. I found that I did not have as many knots after learning how to properly adjust my desk/chair at work as best I could so my second massage was MUCH more relaxing and all my pain was gone. I also learned that Cary Massage runs specials; Spa Week, cancelation specials, email promotions, etc that are almost as great as the Groupon's I had previously purchased. After scouring the internet for a local place to get a quality massage, I chose Cary Massage. It was great that I could schedule my appointment online, too! And they book evening appointments. I decided on a 60 minute deep tissue, and printed out and filled out their forms which was a great time saver. I could see how some people might struggle locating this place but Google directed me to it with no issues. The receptionist was very friendly as I entered. The room for the massage was clean and well-decorated. I hate that I forgot the name of my massage therapist, but she was excellent! We spoke before the massage, and after telling her my problem areas, she suggested solely focusing on those areas instead of the full body which sounded good to me. She checked with me throughout the massage to ensure the temperature, pressure, etc were all comfortable. She also met with me after the massage to suggest some beneficial stretches to alleviate the pain in my problem areas. I used a yelp deal which was honored without issue, and I got savings off my next appointment since I was re-booking while at my current appointment.
