Carvel is located in a little strip mall on Valley Road in Wayne... I bought ice cream . It is a little pricey for a little ice-cream, the only good thing about it is that you get a lot of ice cream on top of the cone... it was almost 6 dollars.. but it was really good..service was ok..ambiance is quiet, also there is plenty of parking and they have benches on the outside that you can sit and enjoy your icecream read more

I'm a fan of the Cinnabon (but who isn't). But tonight we just wanted to try their soft serve ice cream which is pretty pricey. A kid cone is $3.99 and this regular sundae is $5.49. You can get a large for $5.99 which I should have done. The ice cream is a lot creamier than McDonald's as my wife pointed out. But I like the chocolate syrup from McDonald's better. I know everything is expensive these days but it is not 3 times better than McDonald's. For the similar price, I think Rita's is so much better. I think I'll stick with the Cinnabon next time. read more

Today I saw Jonathan for the first time after four years. He continues to be a great access to this establishment. He is professional, polite and I love his bubbly personality. Over the past few weeks, I craved ice cream. I know what you are thinking: it's not a necessity, especially in a time like this. To be honest, I was hesitant and concerned about ordering from restaurants or any other establishments because of this pandemic. Eventually, I made my decision and went for it-- following every necessary precaution. As I reached my destination, I noticed a female employee cleaning the entrance glass door. There was also a male worker cleaning inside, and I felt at ease. I want to personally thank Tess and Jonathan for their hard work, and making sure their customers are in a safe, clean environment. I am extremely happy to see that these two individuals are also following health safety guidelines for their own sake. My experience with the rest of this establishment's staff has been great too!! Every year for as long as I can remember, my birthday was celebrated with a Carvel ice cream cake. All through high school, college, and whenever visits from Chicago coincided with the special day, I would come home to a Carvel cake in the freezer. It is something that almost defies description, and for an avid cake-hater like myself, it is a dream come true. 2 layers of soft-serve separated by a layer of chocolate crunchies. Not cookies, not cookie crumbs- they are just crunchies, and that is all you need to know. Most importantly, not a single smidge of cake to be found. My go-to treat is a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles, because one can't buy a cake every day. And while I was always content with the traditional cakes, the mere presence of Cookie Puss and Fudgie the Whale provide a sort of comfort, just the fact that they're there in case I ever need to call on them. This location is the only one I have ever been to, and you know, it is what it is- a no-frills ice cream shop mostly run by high school kids. But you don't come here for the frills. You come here for the sweet, creamy, soft-servey goodness. Yum. Now, if we could just get one in the city, I wouldn't have to go to White Sox games for my helmet sundaes. read more

first and last time going to this place - I walk in and see two young female employees and announce I'm there to pick up an Uber Eats order, the one girl goes in the back and lays a bag on the counter and walks away. I got her attention to say I want to also place an order and proceed to do so; the order was a small cookie dough carvelanche and a small oreo carvelanche - long story short I paid $15 for two small cups of soft ice cream because the girl put one spoonful of cookie dough in one cup and one spoonful of oreo in the other - way over priced for two small cups when I buy two large ones in my hometown for less money and get way more than one spoonful . read more

There was a dog in the store and a kid who put his hand in between the protective glass and then put his hand right into the ice cream toppings and started eating them as if it was a candy bowl at his house. He did this several times!! Are you kidding me!! Only reason I bought what I bought was because it was already boxed up. This place was REALLY hip and cool before the explosion of local frozen yogurt places, but it still carries good ice cream with a clean store and nice workers. Still, I cannot resist going to Red Mango or Twistd or Cups over traditional ice cream you can get at home, but a trip to Carvel sometimes pops up in my mind and I'll grab some ice cream. The cake is excellent though but the general hype and fame of this place has really slipped and you can tell by the slowing amount of customers. read more

This location is terrible. I came with three elementary aged girls and the three young adults at the counter were loud, obnoxious, and not at all customer friendly. It's as if they were there for their own social recreation and not to run a business. Very unprofessional. My 6 year old kept listening in on their conversation and I had to try to redirect her away from the disturbance while she finished her ice cream.
