You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and their enthusiasm is contagious. The ice cream itself? Absolutely delicious. Came to try out the new ice cream place and it was pretty good. There is a LARGE selection of ice…read morecream to choose from and the menu is large and very easy to read. In addition to just regular ice cream, they offer crepes with or without ice cream and waffle boats and waffle yachts. A waffle boat is essentially 2 fresh made waffles with a scoop of ice cream and your choice of topping and a waffle yacht is 4 fresh made waffles with 2 scoops of ice cream. My husband and daughter got the waffle boat while I got the waffle yacht (because I am a Queen and demand the fanciest of items). I had vanilla ice cream with cookie butter sauce and crushed biscoff cookies on top and whipped cream. They use actual real whipped cream from the can not like cool whip or dairy topping and the waffles are made pretty much on demand. This combination was absolutely dynamite and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. The ice cream was rich and delicious and did not melt instantly even though it was next to freshly made waffles. The scoops were a great size and the toppings were premium. The waffles are very dense (almost like the density of a zeppole) and are like a log shape. Different that what I am used to but very, very delicious. My petty grievances: the waffles are so thick you really need to be able to cut them with a knife but there were only forks available. The packaging is a large plastic container regardless of if you are eating there or taking it to go and overall as a vessel it is too large for the product. Also, if you close the lid with fresh baked waffles, condensation is going to form and melt the ice cream quicker. I had the employee leave mine open for this reason but we also dined in. Last but not least, the waffle to ice cream ratio is off. For 4 waffles, you need more ice cream. It should be more like 2 waffles 2 scoops of ice cream in a boat and 4 waffles and 3-4 scoops of ice cream in a yacht for optimal ice cream to waffle ratio. Petty grievances aside, I will absolutely be back all summer long because the ice cream was great. They also have a coffee shop inside the same location so you can get caffeinated as well before or after your ice cream adventures.

My favorite was the Bubble Waffle Sundae, while my bf is always a fan of the Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake. You can really taste the quality because everything is made in-house--from the rich, creamy ice cream to the warm bubble waffles and even the whipped cream, which I was absolutely obsessed with. What really made the experience stand out was the people. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The owner was working in the shop when we visited, and he was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. It's always nice to support a local business where the owner is so involved and takes pride in every order. If you're looking for homemade ice cream and desserts on Long Island, Strong Island Ice Cream is definitely worth the stop. Great desserts, great service, and a great overall experience. We can't wait to come back! By the way, there is plenty of parking, the walls are very insta-worthy if you want to take photos with your beautifuly constructed sundaes, and there's some seating, and very clean as well.

The combination of ube and matcha is unbelievably creamy, smooth, and rich without being overly sweet. The ube has that perfect nutty vanilla-like flavor with a deep, authentic taste, while the matcha is earthy, bold, and balanced beautifully. Swirling the two together makes every bite even better. What really stands out is the texture it was light, fluffy, and silky soft serve that melts perfectly. The flavors taste fresh and premium, not artificial at all. Not really sure why it took that long, but it was definitely frustrating just standing there. We eventually ordered four cones (ube and matcha)...and giving credit where it's due, the ice cream itself is still very good. It's creamy, flavorful, and consistent with what we had on a previous visit. That said, the portions felt off this time. The cones didn't seem as full, and what really stood out was that each one had a noticeable hollow center -- almost like the middle was missing. Sign. For $9 a cone, that just shouldn't happen. Last time I was here, it felt like a 5-star spot. This visit? Not there at all. Still good ice cream, but between the wait and the portion issues, it didn't live up to the price.
