Convenient location in Danbury close for a nice afternoon ice cream snack before dinner... plenty of parking as other stores/shops are in the area. Small store but variety of options to choose from. Face masks and social distancing of course... Best to know what you want so it's in an out fast. Good and friendly service - 6 soft serve ice creams order one after the other and 1 payment made it easy for the staff and for us. Vanilla soft serve cone is still my favorite. Cone, waffle cone, cup, whatever you like... they have available. No seating inside so head out and eat quick before it melts! read more

Carvel - outside - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

The place is filthy and the owner isn't very pleasant. I not local and plotted a Carvel along my trip. I wish I looked at the reviews first. The place looks disorganized and then you realize how gross it is. The coolers with cake forms have dirt and grime in them. The ice cream in the freezer molds are exposed and some of them are cracking from age. Small vanilla soft serve with sprinkles is $6.10. I really hope they clean the machine daily. I am doubtful. read more

What happened to there Ice Cream. Ordered a Soft Serve Vanella tast so bad. The prior week I got one from Stews and it was so good. Almost twice as much and the quality of the ice cream was nothing in comparison. Step up your game Carvell. read more

This actually happened on multiple occasions. I went in and purchased already premade frozen ice cream cake that feed multiple guests. I asked to purchase a cup of hot fudge to go along with my ice cream cake. The owner refuses to sell the cup of hot fudge. I even expressed that I'm not asking for the cup to be discounted or free. He can charge me whatever he feels necessary for the fudge. He would not sell it, but replied he could sell me a cup of crunchies. I replied my guest don't want crunchies they like fudge. He replied, already has frozen cakes made with fudge. I explained to him that that fudge is now cold and does not have the hot and cold component like hot fudge. Still refused to sell the hot fudge. (this is unique to his store as I've been to other Carvels in the area and out of state and never had this issue.) read more

Carvel - lg Reeses Peanut Butter Sundae Dasher ‍ - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

I go here out of convenience. The ice cream is good, but the service is hit or miss as far as speed and friendliness. With all the other options in the area, this is a good standby, but not a primary destination IMHO. read more

We come here because it's convenient but the guy who runs it/owns it seems increasingly more annoyed everytime we come here. It's a shame. We've had some good interactions with him in the past, but lately he just seems over it. Got a small Carvalanche with cookie dough, he put in a small plastic spoonful (approximately 4-5 cookie dough) probably because the tub was mostly empty. read more

This Carvel has been here for a long time. The shopping plaza itself is run down, tired and showing its age. The store also needs to refresh its appearance. But let's get to what matters. The horrible service. Every time I go there, I am rudely acknowledged, but I still go since they are the only game in town. The owner is annoyed by customers, and if you have any type of coupon or ask about a special, he gets all bent out of shape. The ice cream is weighed too. But the cherry on top, is to always see insects and ants huddled around old dried ice cream. Or mosquitoes trying to fly into the dirty window attracted to the overly bright fluorescent lighting. It hurts your eyes in there with all the white appliances. There is also no place to sit and eat, or even any tables to stand. The owner is just miserable and treats customers so rudely, no wonder there is no place to sit and enjoy the ice cream. read more

The place is filthy. I watched the man behind the counter handle cash with gloves on, then attempted to serve me, wearing the same gloves! I walked out disgusted. read more

I went in their today and i got a small hot fudge sundae with just nuts and whip cream and it came to $5.80 that's way to much to pay for a small. if i got the large one that must cost close to $10. wont be going back their again. I also went in their years ago looking to buy their carvel ice cream cake and the price was more then shop rite charges but i was told by the manger that they don't sell carvel ice cream cake and that was a lie. well anyways if you want ice cream and don't mind paying high prices this is the place for you. also the nuts were stale. With such high prices and i bet since not many people go in their that he has to use old nuts and other toppings. read more

Been going here for years, and boy oh boy, this place is ready for the franchise graveyard. The guy who owns isn't very friendly. First off, it's dirty, and half the freezers are empty. There's no signs about not taking gift cards/coupons, but he will be sure to let you know when it's checkout time that they don't take them because of 'the pandemic'. My advice, drive to the other part of Danbury for IL Bacio, or take a drive down to Brewster where their store has 4 stars. It's time to put this place to pasture. read more

Should have read these reviews before wasting my time and driving here and back home for nothing. Maybe update your hours online? Says "open til 10" but at 9pm the place was shuttered and dark. read more

Had a hard time finding it in this big shopping center so I called them. The person told me exactly where they were. When I got there the worker asked me if I was the one who called, very polite. Ordered a hot fudge Sunday, quick service and like the Carvel I know, excellent. Would recommend if you like the soft serve with good service. read more

Everything in this place is dirty. EVERYTHING, including the owner who acts so annoyed that you have entered his shop and he has to get you something. Such an unpleasant experience. You leave wondering what happened and why you spent your money on ice cream your not so sure you should even be eating. Support other local ice cream shops. This is not the one. read more

Guy that works is extremely rude and dissatisfied with his job. I do not recommend going here much better options like Il Bacio and Double Twister read more

I read the various reviews here, and I barely recognize the place described. I go to this Carvel's a couple of times a year, mostly to get ice cream cakes. I almost always deal with the owner, who is an older guy who inherited the store from his parents many years ago. I doubt he recognizes me, but he is always polite and happy to help if I have any questions. The store is small, with no eating area, and it doesn't look brand new, but I have seen no signs of insects or uncleaned spills of any kind. If you like Carvel, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this store. read more

Wow. Terrible service. Waited on by the OWNER. Unfriendly and curt. Poor job assembling easy ice cream orders and was put out to have to serve us. read more

i wanted to purchase Sinful Love Bars, as well as another bar ice cream..the owner claimed Carvel stopped making them because people complained that they got splinters from the sticks...such a total lie..then the shop was Dirty and 2 cases were completely empty of product..when i went to order a Bananas Foster Sundae i was told they ran out of Bananas! Tell me is this the way you run a business and how you run your stores because this Carvel store is a total Disgrace! Owner was Rude as well..Horrible service! read more
