Carvalhos sent two ppl to clean our townhome who seemed to be ad hoc ppl hired to do my job. I didn't get the impression that they represented Carvalhos. For the price, my wife was very disappointed with the quality of the cleaning. The floors still had many spots that had to be manually wiped afterwards, the kitchen cabinets were not wiped down and the stainless steel appliances were at best streaky and had to be given another go-over by us. My home looked good, my son was happy, and the deep cleaning allowed me to maintain things for weeks afterward. For the quality of the cleaning itself, I was satisfied. Unfortunately, the issue was how pricing and communication were handled, which is why I did not return. Before booking, I spent about 30 minutes on the phone discussing my home in detail and sent multiple videos of the property, including a video taken the morning of the appointment as I was leaving. Based on that full and accurate information, I was quoted the following rates: * $170 for the first deep cleaning * $90 bi-weekly standard cleaning * $100 every three weeks On the morning of my appointment, I received a message attempting to increase the price, claiming the home was "not what it looked like in the videos." This was not true. The videos were current, accurate, and sent specifically to avoid any surprises. After the service, I later received communication implying that the original price was "honored" and presenting significantly higher rates (for example, $250 for a deep cleaning and $120-$140 for standard cleanings). This implied that I had misrepresented my home, which I found offensive. The cleaner also arrived late (scheduled for 9:00 a.m., arrived closer to 10:00-10:15 a.m. per my Ring camera), but I did not make an issue of it at the time because I was happy with the work and even tipped. What ultimately confirmed my decision not to return is that I later learned both a person I personally referred and a separate friend had very similar experience recently as of Dec 2025 was quoted a price upfront and later faced additional charges or price changes that were not part of the original discussion. This strongly suggests that what I experienced was not an isolated situation. Overall, while the cleaning itself was good, the inconsistent pricing, last-minute changes, and implications of dishonesty are why I would not recommend this company. Overall, a very poor experience and terrible customer service. To start with, when the cleaner arrived, I asked her to take her shoes off. She said no and that it was hazard. I've had previous cleaning companies who have taken their shoes off for me but fine. I asked if she could wear shoe booties then and she said she didn't have any and if I wanted her to wear them, I would need to provide them next time. I found that strange because I feel that is something a cleaning company would provide. My last cleaner started bringing them after his first time coming over. When I brought this up to the owner after this, she said that she would talk to her employee because the company always provides the shoe covers. So basically the employee had lied to me. All together, the cleaner was very fast. She was probably in and out in a little over an hour. I've had precious companies send 2-3 people and take 3-3.5 hours to clean and you could tell they were actually cleaning. She was very quick and was doing a very superficial cleaning on everything. I saw her just brush her swifter duster over things quickly and then move on. I'm not sure what she used to mop the floor but it didn't feel or look clean nor did the actual overall place smell clean. Outside on the patio, I think all she did was vacuum the floor. There are two tables out there and both were obviously not wiped down (I've attached the pictures). When I told all this to the owner, she made the comment about the shoe covers (as I mentioned above) and then explained that her employee knows what she is doing and that 98% of her customers are satisfied (I found that quite condescending). Not once did she mentioned the physical pictures I added that showed dirty tables. She then said she would send someone to redo it. I told her that I felt she was condescending and she didn't even address any of my points and that no I didn't want someone to come back and redo it when she's not even acknowledging the issues. She then again said she wanted to send someone "But you're not accepting it, that's strange... but I get your point... you want a free clean, right?" which I found EXTREMEMLY rude because never at one point did I ask for a free cleaning. But honestly, how could I ask for a free cleaning when nothing was cleaned in the first place? I wanted her to acknowledge the poor job that was done and the legit points I was making. *I will not continue to go back and forth in the comments like the owner wants to but I will say a few things. It was not 3 hours because I am alerted when someone comes through our gate and I called my bf when she left. I never left the house because I work from home so I'm not sure what they are talking about when they mention the porch was cleaned when i wasn't home. Lastly, those pictures were taken immediately after the cleaner left when i was on the phone with my boyfriend going over the cleaning, not hours later. So while yes, it was offered for someone to come back and fix things, there still was never a "yes, you are right, they did not wipe down xyz and didn't do as great of a job as she should have", it has just been defensive responses since the start and THAT is why I posted my review, so people understand who they are working with. read more

We recently had Carvalho's Cleaning come by to clean all of our windows and sliding doors. First off I have to say I was impressed by their customer service professionalism and dedication. I reached out for a quote via Yelp about 3 weeks ago and we had a long back and forth about the job parameters, price estimate and available dates. Regardless of how long it took me to reply, they always got back to me quickly and in a kind and polite manner. As a person who often deals with aloof and lazy customer service representatives, I really appreciated that. As for the cleaning, they did an amazing job and got the windows into really great shape. The technician worked hard and was at our place for around 3 hours. When he left, everything squeaky clean, even the tracks of our sliding doors, which really needed some serious attention. Unfortunately, I had an experience that was negative and similar to some of the other negative posts. I was quoted $150.00 for a deep clean (first visit) - they got there, said it would be $200.00 instead. I paid the extra $50.00, no issue. I was told thereafter, they would provide bi-weekly service for $100.00 per cleaning. The initial cleaning met my expectations. Two weeks passed and I heard nothing from them... I reached out and was told they lost a cleaner and they "will try to fit the place in one of our schedules". Five additional days pass and still nothing from them. They arrive promptly, are very professional, thorough and efficient. You would expect a cleaning business to...well..."clean the condo". But the team from Carvalho's does these little "added touches." They take the last few sheets of toilet paper on the roll and make a "rose" for display. They fold the towels in a decorative fashion on the hanging rod. The blankets on the bed are folded in a similar fashion. It's like you live at the Ritz!
