The best views ever and so clean! Owners are amazingly nice and take care of you!

We love it his place. Came last year ans had an amazing time so came back this year and stayed in the same room. The owners are lovely people. We love the access to The River. I love sitting on the balcony or the swing and having my coffee. I love the entrance from the street and the back patio view. You can see chimney rock from the back porch. My teenage sons loved playing checkers and cornhole. We will come back every year

    The view from our balcony!

Normally I take a lot of pictures when I do a Yelp review. Unfortunately, this time, I did not. It…read moreis a good reason as well. I was too relaxed and focused on having a good time that the pictures faded away. Great conversation and great company. The owners are spectacular people. They made booking and checking in really easy. The rooms have everything that you can possibly think of. The add-ons were great. We ordered a bottle of wine and a caprece platter. It was perfect for sitting by the fire pit and listening to music. Breakfast.... oh my...... the owner can cook! Don't skip this perk if you can. The kitchen has coffee, tea, fresh baked cookies, popcorn, etc. that is accessible at all hours. Perfectly located between fine dining and outdoor activities. The beach is walkable in about 7-10 minutes. Walking back on a hot-humid day, uphill, you are going to sweat. Things that I would like to see in the future: - covers for patio furniture to keep it dry. All the cushions were wet when we went to sit by the fireplace. We made it work though. - room 2 - a better shower head to allow greater water flow. Water pressure is super-strong until you lift the switch to shift it to the shower head. Currently, it is okay and does the job. Would we stay here again? ABSOLUTELY Would we recommend to others? ABSOLUTELY

Breakfasts cooked by Rich were amazing. Our morning chats with Kim and Rich were very nice and we appreciated their tips on local attractions. Check in was simple and easy and Kim was very thorough, even asking if we had any preferences for breakfast. Kim and Rich, your hospitality is impeccable. We can't wait to come back for another relaxing stay. Brad and Renae

We enjoyed our visit to Lake Lore and this cute fabulous cabin on the river. The staff was…read moreextremely friendly, during COVID-19 they did take precautions and unfortunately did not have breakfast for you which is no problem because everything is within walking distance. We stayed in one of the cabins that overlooks the rapids, it was absolutely beautiful. The room that we stayed in had a completely remodeled bathroom which had a beautiful shower with river stones as the base for the shower. Everything was conveniently located to shopping restaurants and Chimney Rock State Park. We definitely will be back, the only thing that we did not like was the fact that it was extremely noisy having the parking lot directly in front of your room and a main road less than 30 feet away from your cabin. We took advantage of a boat tour on Lake lure, we had hoped to rent a boat on our own but please understand that you will need to book these boats two weeks in advance. However, there are so many wonderful things to see, unfortunately we did have some rain but that was OK. Again our stay was pleasant, we did not give five stars only because of the noise that we had from being so close to the road and the cabin facing the parking area for customers. We did have fresh coffee every morning which was really nice for coffee drinkers! Thank you so much for the hospitality and we hope to see you soon. The only thing that we wish was that it was "dog friendly"!! Highly recommended.

It was pretty awesome that we could hear the river running all night. The kids got some good pictures in the morning. The room was semi updated but we had everything that we needed. The rooms are on the small side but it's a trade off the the view. Cable TV in both rooms. Mini fridge and sink. Microwave. Breakfast was simple but ample. Waffle maker, oatmeal, danishes, cereal. They had coffee so I was good. All of my kids found something to eat. The only reason I am not rating 5 stars is because the bathtub did not drain well so we took showers standing in a pool of water and when we first checked in there was a big ole house roach in the bed. I'm not talking about the big black cockroaches that you might expect near the woods, I mean a house roach that rolls with 1000 other roaches. Definitely a turn off.

There are not many fine dining options in these parts. This…read moreis really the only one. I played golf at Apple Valley resort last year with a couple of guys who talked on and on about this place. I couldn't get a reservation last year, but this year I did. Their menu is not amazing but it's adequate and their are some options that seemed appealing. I went with the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and the grilled salmon as my main course. The tomatoes had an interesting sweet glaze the covered the grilled pork bites. The salmon was a very large portion and came on a bed of rice with grilled squash and asparagus. It was better than I expected. I was somewhat disappointed the only fresh fish option was pan seared trout. I really like trout but typically the pan seared is undercooked. They also had a Mahi special but it was pan seared. Over all an really good experience and I would recommend it but do strongly suggest a reservation. There are many outside tables for patio dining as well. There is plenty of free parking on a large surface lot.

The wood in the lobby is the original floor from the movie Dirty Dancing...pretty cool Food was "good" for the chimney rock area. Chicken special not very good, but short rib was good. Very nice interior, staff in restaurant very quiet and not engaged. Basement has a speakeasy bar/lounge that you must visit. I believe the filet is what to order here, I saw a lot of filet being served and it looked much better.
