Super cheap, clean, quiet and walking distance to everything. Nothing fancy by any means but was nicer than I expected for the price.

I've been staying at the Hardman House for the past 15 years. It's the perfect location to downtown…read moreand the Carson City Wine Walk. This has been a family owned Business since the very first day I walked through the door and this visit I finally met one of the brothers who owns the place, Tedsh. He has a twin brother Dominick. The owner informed me their cousin who use to run the front desk who was my absolute favorite, Gurnay is going to nursing school! I miss her so much! She and I had a special connection and she was always so welcoming and made my stay extra special. The brothers are trying to update the Hardman House and make it authentic and not a Holiday Inn! They want to keep the prices at good value for all travelers. They have started on the remodel which has begun from the top slowing working their way down. Every time I stay there, I see improvements, all new bedding, custom mattresses exclusively for the hotel, Egyptian linens same as the Landing at Tahoe. Brand new roof and internet upgrades for Wi-Fi and televisions. They're in the process of remodeling the 3rd floor which is my favorite rooms. This time I stayed in Room 217 and it was different than my usual room. It was nice and roomy with a view of the buildings next door and not too noisy. Yes, the place is a bit run down and they have signs saying pardon our carpets in the hallways which are super old and unpleasant to look at. I can't wait for the new carpets and drapes!!!! In with the new and out with the old! You will have the comfort of your bed which is a beautiful thing and you will be well rested. They do have wine and cookie hour in the evenings and a small continental breakfast. The breakfast could be more appealing, maybe supporting one of the local bakeries in town would be a nice touch and moving the breakfast choices back to the table instead of on the end of the countertop. I look forward to my next stay this summer, hopefully on the 3rd floor with a nice fresh look and feel. I do love that they have underground parking which is a plus! You need to be mindful of the removal of old toilets, beds, and microwaves as they make improvements to the property. They be gone soon enough.

There are limited places in Carson City to stay so we thought we would give us a try, but somewhat substandard. I do recognize that I'm pretty picky so that should factor in as well.

Bathtub is not usable as a bathtub. Shower has great pressure and removable showerhead. There's a stove, a sink, apartment size refrigerator and a dorm size refrigerator. There's lots of cabinets, but no dishes or utensils. If you bring your own stuff and wanna turn this into an apartment for a week it would work. I believe the couch is also a hide a couch, but I'm not positive. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were king size hard lumps. Bring your own pillows or do like we didn't go to Walmart and buy eight dollars worth of pillows. additionally there's very little space to hang towels. There are also no hangers in the closet. The bathroom sink faucet handle came off when I tried to turn the water on. We informed the front desk in the morning. The clerk said they would have it fixed. When we came back to the room that night, it was still broken. The event center was clean and orderly. We were served a veggie platter mid morning. The veggies were fresh. We had lasagna, salad and a delicious dessert. The entire weekend was enjoyable. We were there for a scrapbooking event. Kristi always takes such good care of us. She's a hard worker. I recommend this place.
