We came in w our service dog an hour ago. Employee said go get what you want . So we did. When we came to the front he said "you can't be in here w the dog". He then said he was going to call the police if we didnt remove our dog! He is an ADA complaint professionally trained service dog! Not an Amazon service dog. I only come here for the delicious martinis! Although it is extremely smoky (yes i know it's a cigar bar) but it's worse than any ever that i've been to. I wish they would get some sort of better vents, or possibly have a few tables outside for nicer days. Be prepared to wash all your clothes and hair the second you get home. (who complains about smoke in a cigar bar? well me and I don't care). Anyways, I will brave the smoke every once in a while to have a couple delicious martinis! I don't smoke cigars or any other tobacco product, nor do I particularly enjoy interior spaces filled with smoke. I do kind of like the smell of cigar smoke, but know that Gayle doesn't share that opinion. So why was I here today? 2 reasons: 1. This is a classy and attractive place, that features a walk-in humidor (showcasing an impressive selection of premium cigars), a nice bar with a nice selection of cocktails, craft beers, and wine, and a very comfortable and inviting lounge/club room space for hanging out and conversation. When I was in today, I probably stayed longer than I should have as I was enjoying an adjacent conversation about business strategies and lessons learned. 2. There's huge selection of empty cigar boxes, which is one of my go-to means of storing my stuff. I found 2 today that I liked (proceeds go to charity), and I could have gone for more. Yes, I have too many of these, but I don't think I'll ever stop looking. Every time I've been here I've had a great experience. Whether you're new to cigars, an enthusiast such as myself, or if you don't smoke at all, this cigar bar has something to offer. The bar keeps a fragrant walk-in humidor which features a very well curated selection of cigars at almost any price range and variety. This is the only cigar bar that I've been to that has one of these, which I think almost warrants a visit on its own, as stepping inside is a treat for all of the senses. The staff here are very welcoming and helpful. They are all well acquainted with their stock, and make themselves available to answer any questions if needed. Just tonight, Roberto and Peppi helped my fiancee and me find the right cigars, and we were both very happy with our choices, even going the extra mile to stop and chat with us while we smoked, which was an unexpected and nice touch to our already pleasant time spent there. The atmosphere is lovely. The entire place is dimly lit and wrapped in the aroma of cigar tobacco, making it all feel very cozy and warm. There's a bar for meeting new people, lounge chairs for relaxing, and high-top tables for chatting with friends. I would have preferred jazz music or something a little more mellow than the classic rock that was being played, but that's just a personal preference, and the music still fit the setting quite comfortably. I'm not a big drinker, but I did notice that they feature a great selection of spirits. This place is perfect for capping off a great night out, or relaxing after a long day at work. Stopped in for a cigar with a friend. Very nice atmosphere. Service was great. Bartender was very attentive without hovering. Took the time to turn TV on for us in the lounge. Nice big comfortable chairs to sit in. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cigar. Humidor is a little limited but was adequate to find something nice to smoke. i was 86 yesterday from this bar for no reason. or prejudice. ive experienced before. im 64. when i go to a bar with a young woman i always experience jealousy. i was not on a date. my good friend just had her pretty blonde hair refreshed and proudly wore a skimpy black dress. we were asked to leave within two minutes. ive been coming to this bar for 20 years! 10 years ago i came in with my 20 yo daughter to see her friend playing music. i figured kids can go into restaurants so why not a place focused on tobacco which is legal for 18yo. wendy treated me like i was trying to ruin her business and rudely kicked us out. ive been in there a lot last three years so i am very confused by this decision. have been in there several dozen times this year. anyway drinks are very expensive. bartenders never stay long. thiiiick smoke. not welcoming to newcomers. ive seen drug dealing in here before... and... owner wendy was my neighbors bob McFadden's travel buddy on his last visit to costa rica where he died of cocaine overdose. not fun. mean. avoid read more

Right off, I have to tell you, I LOVE THIS PLACE! Wifey and I will stop in on those rare occasions when I'm not at work. They make a killer Gentleman Jack Manhattan. Actually, they make "killer" anything they mix. Their selection of alcohol is all top shelf. Expect to pay a little more, but I think it's well worth it. Their selection of cigars is remarkable, with prices and tastes to fit every budget. On our last trip I selected a Rocky Patel Fifteenth Anniversary stick (because I'd never heard of it). It was celebrating Carson Cigar's anniversary! That's right, CC ordered a special blend from Rocky Patel JUST FOR their 15th anniversary. How cool is that? And I must say, it was a MOST enjoyable smoke. In fact, I bought another to take home (at $12.75 each). Chris was the bartender on duty on our last trip, and he is truly friendly and helpful. If you have any questions regarding cigars, cigar paraphernalia, or even adult beverage, he's the man... Regarding Marianne's "Yelp", I think the gentleman in question no longer works there, so if she stops in again I'm sure her experience would be totally different. The bar tendender was telling him everything that was being talked about at the bar..sad when bartender asked a coustomer that has going there for over 10 years was asked to leave. Four stars, mainly because I like their selection of Scotch. The cigar choices are modest and the prices seem a tad high, but probably not out of line for a cigar bar. If you look on their web page, they have a photo of a well-stocked humidor. It wasn't like that when I visited.The cigar choices are different varieties of A. Fuente, Romeo Y Juileta, Macanudo and a few others I didn't recognize. They may be boutique cigars. I don't know. I got a Macanudo maduro, vintage 1997 or 1998. It was an excellent choice. Nice full-bodied smoke. They need to carry cigars they can sell. I wonder if carrying cigars with local ties -- like Illusione, Hatuey or Esteli Ruiz -- would sell? No beer on tap. The bottle selection seemed routine and had nothing I wanted. I liked the Scotch selection. I had never had Oban and a friend was going to tour the distillery in Scotland in the next day or two so I had to try Oban. Sweeter than bourbon. So I tried one of their Islay Scotches next and that hit the mark. They have a nice offering of cocktails. I went during the day, so I can't say what the vibe of the place is like when it's busy. Carson City Cigar is a hidden oasis from the hustle and bustle surrounding the Capitol city of Nevada. Just a block off the main drag you will find the perfect combination of comfortable leather chairs, great bar service, and an incredible walk-in humidor with all your heart could desire. Had to make a quick business trip with a co-worker from Las Vegas to Carson City recently. Long drive, unpleasant work task, etc. All the negativity faded away when we entered the Carson City Cigar Company for a drink and a leisurely cigar. Spent a couple hours listening to live music by two great singer/guitarists playing hits form the 70s, 80s, and 90s. If you are in the area stop in and spend a while in one of the finest cigar bars I have had the pleasure to visit. read more

My husband and I came in on Friday around noon. We had the best most relaxing time! We drive to Carson City to specifically come to the cigar bar. And my parents are frequent flyers of this place as they come on their motorcycle almost every other weekend. First visit was at 8pm on a Wednesday night. Ladies night. Half off drinks. My friend and I each ordered an espresso Martini. Yum! I found the selection of cigars to be good, although they were out of stock on my favorite, so I purchased a similar one. It was pretty good also. When preparing to leave, I asked Alex, the bartender for our check. Instead of bringing me a bill he told me what I owed. I paid, and tipped him 30%. After we left, it dawned on me that it was happy hour and we were charged FULL price ($9 each) for our drinks!!! I truly enjoyed the martini though and will return for that. Quiet, full of "regulars," a place where you can enjoy good conversation while sipping a delightful espresso martini without feeling like you're on display. Not a "meat market" type of bar where drunk, sleazy guys are trying to pick up on you all the time. If someone here offers to buy you a drink, it's generally out of kindness, not creepiness! The bartenders are fun to chat with. Most of them have a slightly gruff exterior and a sarcastic sense of humor, so don't take them too literally, or you may be offended.
