    Let it flow tasting flight
    Jennifer P.

Came here after having dinner at Pizza Port. It took a little bit of effort to find as the building on the street is under scaffolding and we had to make our way back. I was previously a member at Solana Beach for years but let the membership go when they expanded and it lost all the things I loved about them. This space is TINY. They have seating, a stage and the bar but compared to the Solana beach location (the one they are in now, not the original one). We had difficulty finding seating but a person was leaving, let us know and we were able to grab a table. Unfortunately the table was not in any kind of shade and it was a hot day so it shortened my time there. I decided to have a wine flight "Let it Flow" which included the chardonnay, saginee rose, merlot, unicorn blend and cabernet sauvignon. The chardonnay and rose were good. The unicorn blend was very spicy (peppery). The other wines were ok. I was happy to see the GSM back on the menu (it was a favorite of mine) but at $50 a bottle and no option to get a glass, I skipped it. The flight was $25 pre-tax. The bartender who helped us was super nice. My husband tasted 2 different wines trying to decide what he wanted. If I was in the area I would consider stopping by again. While there we did discuss renewing our wine membership as remembered our visits previously fondly. There was live music while we were there and it was nice but not intrusive.

This is a great, chill spot for a glass of wine and some snacks. The staff is always so nice and accommodating. I never have any issues with seating (more with parking!). I would recommend coming here while you wait for your dinner reservation at Nicks or Campfire

From Chicago, my daughter wanted to do a wine tasting and we discovered this hidden gem in downtown Carlsbad. I'm a rookie when it comes to wine tasting, but here's a little glimpse: We decided to do a wine tasting flight (4/5). Cool concept where you get to try samples of 5 different wines. The only one I really liked was the Sauvignon blanc, the only white wine. We also got a charcuterie board (3/5), which is ala carte rather than pre made. The fig spread and the French bread were my favorite. The ambiance (4/5) was good, a lot of people, pretty friendly. The hostess was very helpful. Took time with us. Recommended.

Amazing service!! Brance was the sweetest def recommend his choice:) he has an amazing personality as well!

Carruth is an amazing wine tasting room in the village. I love coming here with friends to grab a glass or even a wine flight. My personal favorite wine from them is the Cabernet Sauvignon. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, especially Ryan who works at the Carlsbad village location. There is ample seating inside and outside so you can enjoy the beautiful Carlsbad weather with a glass of wine in hand.

Cool hang in Carlsbad and we just missed happy hour by literally 2 minutes and the older lady aka manager said no. :(. We still had a glass of Chardonnay before dinner.

Keep it Light wine flight (front) & Smooth and Silky wine flight (back)

Their wine flight is the way to go if you're just strolling through the city and want to have a good time. You have two options: "Keep it Light" or "Smooth and Silky" (each of which has its own specialties). I also highly recommend getting a charcuterie board because they serve delicious cheese and bread that pair so nicely with the wine.

I loved it here! The winery itself had a really cute vibe with a great indoor/outdoor seating area. I went with a club member (and would totally join if I were local) and we got to do some free tastings. The tastings were generous and the staff was friendly. I liked that they pre-served the tasting flight for us so we could go off and chat and just ask questions as needed. The wine itself is really good! I liked everything I tasted and thought the bottle prices were very reasonable for the quality and taste. I can't wait to go back!

It's time for an updated review I didn't write when I was drunk! Carruth Cellars is our favorite spot. After a few visits we quickly joined the wine club as members and enjoy going every week for our two free glasses and monthly bottle pick ups. The atmosphere is great - comfortable, quaint, and yet upscale. The bread and cheese selection is fantastic and Friday pizzas are a treat. Live music on Sundays! Staff is always friendly and accommodating. I won't drink Chardonnay anywhere else, but I love theirs. Wine tasting flights are the way to pick your favorite blend. Carruth is the perfect spot for locals and tourists alike.

We were skeptical to try a tasting room in the village as our experience for wines outside of a wine region isn't the best. Luckily for us, Carruth source their Grapes from wine regions and they're winemakers. We did find their wines to be pretty good. We did liked their Syrah and ended up getting a glass. The other perk, they have a sparkling water tap, love it!

Cute and convenient, good wines . Fun little "local" gathering . Lots of people joining and brought their own snacks. Tried a red and a white and took home a bottle of the unicorn. Narrow patio and fair indoor seating . Will stop in again to give some more wines a try.

Although we're members from the Solana Beach location we always try to hit the Carlsbad tasting room when up in far north county. I honestly prefer this one. I like the vibe. I like the peeps... I like the setup... It's hidden, it's mellow and intimate... Chelsea was super cool... Gonna try the oside location next!

Small alleyway wine tasting. Two seat tables and not enough heat lamps. But I must say there is great parking behind the venue.

We were also picked up at our hotel and were the first ones, so we had a great time getting to know Mike (the Wandering Wino) while we made the drive to get the others. Mike really did make this a great experience for all of us, what a host! Our tour was on Thursday, which we learned was significantly less busy than the weekends. We were picked up around 10am and got back to our hotel close to 4pm and it was an absolutely wonderful day! We were a group of 6 and became fast friends. We had something like 6 tastings at each place, and a discount on what you buy. We ended up leaving with a total of 2 bottles of wine and some marinara sauce. Mike was a blast, each winery was amazing, and our lunch was super tasty! They do this tour in different areas of California and I would love to check those out.

But in all that time had never done a guided winery tour, so when we decided to do one on our one year anniversary, we were recommended Grapeline and we were not disappointed! From the very beginning the person that helped us with our reservation, was helpful, supportive, and flexible, they even picked us up at our winery! Which obviously was a huge plus including dropping us off after the tour! But I have to tell you, our tour guide Liz made the day of wine tasting at 3 different wineries fun, exciting and informative. She was high energy from the minute we stepped on the tour van! (Killer playlist!) And her recommendations for the different wines at each winery were spot on! She has connections at all the wineries too, and we even got an upgrade for a tractor tour that was not part of our original tour at one of the wineries. We toured the vineyards while tasting our wines, and even went to see how the wine was made and fermented. Like I said, I have never done a guided tour but we could not have been more pleased. Bill our driver was always helpful and offering complimentary water at every stop. (stay hydrated)! Bottom line, if going to do a wine tour in Temecula you have to go with Grapeline! But I didn't find that to be my experience at all. I do think that the ticket cost is pretty steep, but my husband and I had a really lovely experience here. There were still a lot of flowers in bloom when we went. I could tell that a lot had withered away at this point already, but I was still happy with what we were able to see. It did make a lovely backdrop for lots of cute photos, and I got plenty of enrichment being by so many beautiful flowers. We also spent over an hour picking our own blueberries. Since we went so late in the season, a lot of the good blueberries had already been picked, so there were slim pickings. It took a long time to gather two good basketfuls, but it was fun (and actually really tasty). Definitely another reason to go earlier in the season next time. It was a great place for a date, and we got lots of steps in while doing so many fun things like the sweet pea maze, watching the birds, and venturing out to find the sunflower field. I thought it would be a one-and-done, but we are actually looking forward to going back another year!

They also have many different snack options, a sweet pea maze, and an inside orchid exhibit. Lots of things to do whether you're a kiddo or an adult! They also had field trips with elementary school kiddos while we were there. So cool that they have programs for kiddos to learn more about plants and agriculture :) Parking- There's plenty of parking. If the lot gets full, the outlet mall is next door and has more parking.
