My dream coat and my good fortune, I found a beautiful sheerling coat at a more than good price. The hides were sewn with leather and yada yada.
Found it at an estate sale but it had a "splash" mark on it's back which was obviously just a matter of cleaning.
Oh, I left out that it was a fawn colored suede coat, car coat length and made me look like a snow bunny according to my hubby.
Go to pick it up and the hides are now a dark espresso and the leather hide stitches which gave it an Inuit look are now WHITE!
It now looks like like something I picked up at target for $30.00! about the state of my find I'm told to call "the other store" to which I do to be told Now that the mgr will not be in until the morning. It's two PM so I now have many hours to stew about this only to be told I'm sure that after the deposit they make you leave I have no recourse.
The damage was So bad that I couldn't even force myself to bring the thing home by paying the difference of deposit vs the final cost. I actually told them to them keep it!
That BAD! I Will talk to the manager in the morning and I'll Demand that the coat be donated to our local shelter( i'd prefer to bring it there myself with a recpt to prove I've done so) and I will Not allow an employee to walk away with it because they have lower standards than I do. Warm is warm for the many that need it.
Heartbroken. read more
