So for any of you that have been following my reviews, you will note that I absolutely loathed my…read moreprevious dry cleaner. Recently I noticed that there is one close to where I live, and that's conveniently on my way to work. I decided to give them a try because they couldn't possibly be worse than my current dry cleaner, right? So I stopped in. Per usual, I had my lab coats from work that needed to be cleaned and pressed. Almost immediately after coming in I was acknowledged and greeted pleasantly. The lady was very friendly, and apparently is the preferred dry cleaner for my clinic job, even offering a pickup and delivery service if I were stationed at the local office. (We are a very large practice with locations across central Florida.) The intake process was quick and efficient. Even though I was brand new to the location, all she needed was a name and a phone number. I was in and out in under 5 minutes, including chatting time. I dropped them off on a Friday morning, and since there was no rush pickup was scheduled for the following Tuesday afternoon. They do have rush service available if it's needed though. My order was ready on time, and perfectly cleaned and pressed. Pick up was just as smooth as the drop-off was. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the experience and will continue coming back to this location.

The positives: 1) Friendly Owner / Staff: My interactions with the owner were very pleasant. He's a nice, down-to-earth guy who remembers his customers... even the very new ones. 2) Quality Work: I was very happy with the end result. 3) Location: For folks in the SoDo neighborhood, this is a very convenient spot. It's close to a Publix, Freshfields, Target and other businesses. The one negative: My dry-cleaning wasn't ready on time. I was told to stop by after 5 PM on a Wednesday. I stopped by late in the afternoon on a Thursday and was told it wasn't ready yet and to stop by again late Friday, because they needed to try to remove a spot they'd missed. I live a block away, so it wasn't a big deal. But if this was for clothing that I needed urgently, I would have been unhappy. A courtesy phone call would have been nice.

I started using University Palms dry cleaners about 15 years ago when I first moved to Oviedo, in…read moreOrlando. Their service was excellent. After moving out of my area and returning to Oviedo, I started bringing my clothes to them again. However the quality of their service is terrible now. First they shrunk one of my wool sweaters, which I had just bought online. They offered me a free dry cleaning, which I accepted. However, all dry cleaned clothes were returned to me with a very strong and unpleasant chemical smell. The smell does not go away even after hanging the clothes for weeks outside. I brought back two sweaters that had been hung for a month and they repeated the dry cleaning for free. The two sweaters smelled even worse when I picked them up. Although their customer service is very good, the clothes they dry clean cannot be worn because of the strong chemical stench they add to them. I do not recommend this dry cleaning establishment.
