Do NOT listen to anything they tell you. The kid in the office assured us that if anything was wrong with the vehicle we could bring it back and they would "take care of it" even though it was "as-is". We were even given an example of another person that had a transmission go bad, and how they took care of it.
Within 6 days of purchasing, the car began overheating and broke down on the side of the highway. When we reached out to them and brought the car back they tried to tell us it was "as it". When we told them about the kid in the office verbally telling us something different, he then told us to bring the vehicle down. After the vehicle sitting there for days, we were told the mechanic is out of the country and we should just come pick it up and deal with it ourselves since they have no obligation to fix it. The kid basically laughed when I told him I would contact our attorney, saying "Don't waste your time and money - there's nothing you can do about it."
Perhaps a little legal knowledge would help - NC does not have a lemon law, but we do have FEDERAL AND STATE protection under the Federal Trade Commission Act (UDTPA) Section 5: Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices.
I highly recommend recording your conversations when visiting this dealership (as we did), and If this has happened to you - CONTACT AN ATTORNEY.
You do have rights against dirty and deceptive dealers.
