Ed Varnes Hardwood Floors is the only company you will ever need for your hardwood floor needs. Ed…read moreVarnes is extremely professional, prompt, efficient, and kind. His prices are competitive and fair. I was surprised how reasonable the job cost. I had been putting off refinishing my dining room, stairs and spare room but I now ask myself why I waited. I had gotten several estimates, but Mr. Varnes was equal to or less than others. He came out to measure very quickly and had my estimate to me in less than 24 hours. Other companies took days to come out and actually showed very little interest in doing the job. The men working for Mr. Varnes were wonderful. Courtesy, on time, friendly. When you look up professional in the dictionary or on google there should be a picture of Ed Varnes Hardwood Floors. This company is definitely old school and, in this day, and age that is a true gift.

Ed Varnes Hardwood Floors were recommended to us by neighbors in Beech Hill. They simply said, 'Oh…read moreyeah, Varnes has been around forever, and they are the go-to flooring people around here.' And yes, they really ARE the go-to people. We found them to be thoughtful about what made sense for our home and circumstances, meticulous about details, and careful with our furniture (which they cheerfully hauled back and forth). They also took great care to mitigate the dust from their work, putting up plastic sheeting on adjacent doors, and covering the contents of closets. Other small--but telling--things: the crew was always on time, was invariably friendly and polite, and they worked around us and our unhappy little dog with grace, consideration and good nature. We installed new hardwood the living room, refinished the abutting floor to match the living room, and installed pre-finished hardwood upstairs. We are thrilled with the finished product, and would use Varnes again in the future. Great job!

Andy Stewart was waiting at the desk for customers and he helped us graciously in the store; on the phone when I had questions; and at our house when he came to measure and plan the installation. We had borrowed a couple sample books and were able to make our best choice. We were not buying expensive carpet, of which there are many possibilities. But we did want a good value and outcome for this room. We had a very good experience when homeowners sometimes get into big problems with this. Six months after installation we are still very pleased with our carpet, which makes a nice improvement over what had been on the floor previously. Nice cushion to the padding. Thank you, Andy.

As I came to post, I noticed all great reviews, except for an outlier post from Andy D, that makes Mike seem evil. Are Andy D and I living on the same planet? Andy D - I am so sorry that you didnt get the toy you wanted for Christmas when you were little. I am guessing you got a participation trophy for everything you were bad at, and so grew up thinking the world rotates around you. Trying to badmouth and bully someone into doing a job for a price that they will lose money on is just being a prick! You supposedly got a better price - take it and shut up, then don't complain when the job turns out shitty. Get a life whiner. Again, we couldn't be happier with the service and end results we recieved from Groutsmith Brandywine - one of the BEST small companies I have had the pleasure of hiring - I recommend them to anyone - except for Andy D.

I am writing this review nearly three years after Crown Flooring worked on my home in Wallingford,…read morePA. Crown Flooring installed Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) all through the lower level, and sanded and stained my hardwood floors all through the upper level of my home. Additionally, Ken and his crew replaced nearly all of my baseboard and quarter round, and all of my interior doors. This work was done in November - December of 2019. Three years later, and all of this work still looks like it was completed yesterday. My floors - the LVP and the hardwood floors are gorgeous. When people come over, to include people giving me estimates for other projects, I still get a lot of compliments, and some ask who did the work. Long story short, I highly recommend Crown Flooring. They do phenomenal work, complete it on schedule, and they do not price gouge you. I will be glad to provide before and after pictures for anyone who wants to see them. My wife and I have a projects that we are discussing. When we move forward with these projects, we will only call Crown Flooring to install the floors. Mike from Wallingford

I waited to do the upstairs because I wasn't sure I'd want the same carpet. It looked so good downstairs, I ordered it for the upstairs where it looks even better. The crew did an exceptional job working very hard for an entire day during installation. Upstairs too had some difficulties with speaker wire that goes down stairs, two small closets with lower floors, lots of cut outs, and closet build-outs. It looks great and I can see no berber seams - unlike my previous installation! I had a friend I tried to help who wanted tile but she ended up delaying. Two years later I find out that she too went to Crown Flooring and Rick helped her find a wood flooring that would match and she is very happy.
