I like to judge companies on mistakes made and how they correct those mistakes. No one is perfect and there were a few very minor details that we wanted corrected....well, the 5 star rating alone could be for the corrected mistakes!! Robert came out and corrected exactly what we asked for and we could not be more pleased!! We love our new floor...thanks guys!! Oh and it gets better....12 month interest free financing!!!!!!!!! One of the first things we needed in our new house with hardwood floors was a stair runner. We popped in on a Saturday and the lovely's wan whose name I now can't remember was incredibly helpful explaining the different products and pricing. We took about 5 samples home to see what we liked best in the space and light which was an unexpected bonus. Monday we had measurements and a price that was so reasonable we decided to do our basement stairs as well. So, so happy with both the experience and end result. read more

After much debate, we decided to carpet our basement steps. We got several estimates and Havertown Carpet blew the competition out of the water! They beat the closest estimate by over $500, and gave us better quality carpet. We had someone come out to measure and provide us with a variety of samples. After much deliberation, we finally ordered our carpet. We never felt pressured to order the carpet, which was a great feeling. The carpet took about a week and a half to come in (less than the 2 week estimate we were originally given). After the carpet came in, an installer came out and had the stairs carpeted in less than 2 hours. When my husband came home, he was very impressed with the skill and craftsmanship of the carpet installer. Everyone was very professional and answered any questions we had. This isn't so much about the store as it is about the installers. The first group we had was comprised of 3: 2 brothers & the father; the latter did nothing. Only 1 spoke any English & it was minimal. They came early but then went out to the van to sit for another 1/2 hr. when it started to pour & then they remained in the van an additional hour. They blocked access to the only bathroom my elderly handicapped mother used, but 1 of them managed to get in & use it not bothering to lift the toilet seat, thereby getting urine EVERYWHERE! They were rough w/the furniture & dropped 2 pieces. For some reason, they unnecessarily moved furniture in the living room & then later dumped the old carpet and trash in there instead of taking everything immediately outside. The other installers were a bit better for the next set of rooms, but the wrong size carpet had been ordered & they were trying to install the carpet in 3-4 pieces instead of 1. If I hadn't gone in to see why it had been so quiet for so long & to see what the burning smell was, they may have done the quilt-like installation. This also caused additional visits & inconvenience. The stretching that they did wasn't so great or complete either. The latter part is my fault. It was the 4th visit to the house-each time needing prep & clean up & I was just fed up. read more

Within a few days of contacting them, someone came to my house to assess the job and provided me with a ton of samples to browse through. Customer service was top notch, and within 2 weeks my carpet was ripped up and re-installed. I was given a timeframe of 8:30AM - 10:30AM for the guys to show up and begin the job and they arrived promptly at 8:30 and were done within a few hours. On Monday we went to find a carpet for my 80 year old mother's bedroom. Before even getting into what carpet etc, we specifically asked if it could be installed the next Tuesday before she moves into her new place. We were told yes, it was open. But we had to get someone in to measure, since settlement wouldn't be until the next Monday had to make arrangements and jumped on that right away. We would have done this earlier but the seller's agent was being a pain about seeing the unit more than once, which is another story. This WAS supposed to happen tomorrow morning. I get a call a little while ago that they filled up Tuesday slot for installation, do we still want the carpet and wait for 2 weeks. The point was to have it done BEFORE she moves in and not have to make my 80 year old mother, (cancer survivor)uprooting her bedroom to get the carpet. I was told over the phone today that they don't hold a time unless you put a deposit down, irony is they wouldn't even give an estimate of how much to even put one down without measuring. FYI the word deposit was NOT mentioned on our visit. Unfortunately we wasted our time at this company because they came highly recommended by a neighbor. I guess if you want to wait forever to get your carpet and be misled this would be the place to go. My recommendation is don't bother with them. read more
