Horrible first time experience. I walked in, one guy looked at me and rolled his eyes. I was not greeted or offered assistance at all even though only one worker was with a customer. There were at least 4 people in the store. I spent about 5 mins there and walked out. I received better customer service at other places. May cost more but ill pay more for better service. My ordeal with Carpet Liquidators in Kirkland began in September of 2023 when I booked an in home estimate. The estimator came to my home and saw my 3 dogs and elementary school aged son and recommended Mohawk Smart strand carpeting. He said that liquids would pool on top of the fibers and make cleanup from pet and kid damage easy to clean without needing constant professional cleaning. I had asked about wool options and whether carpeting even made sense in my son's room considering the situation. He said that I would have no issues with smart strand carpeting and the waterproof padding used by Carpet Liquidators. I went in and looked at the carpet color options and again asked if it would be a good option with my child and dogs. I was assured that it would be easy to clean and would not stain. After finally repainting my son's room we ordered the expensive Mohawk carpet to be installed in February after again being reassured that it would not be destroyed by dogs and children. A week after it was installed one of our dogs had an accident and I immediately cleaned it. The dog pee soaked into the carpet which absorbed it faster than I could run to grab paper towels and my bissell little green machine. It absorbed the liquid more than any carpet I have ever seen, and I used the green machine repeatedly without being able to get the stain out. It is early July of 2024 and I have vacuumed this stain and the other stain our other dog caused at least 10 times. The discoloration always comes back after a few hours. I called Carpet Liquidators and was told that they only warranty the carpet for stains that won't come out come out after professional cleaning. Unfortunately that doesn't help my situation where I would need to hire professional cleaning every few days to keep from having stains all over my son's carpet. Now we keep his door closed all the time and live in fear of visiting friends accidentally letting a dog into his room. It's really diminished my son's quality of life and he wishes we had never replaced his old carpet. I am going to hire professional cleaning to see if they get the stains out, but even if they do our dogs will inevitably find a way back into his room to ruin it again. Such a terrible shame and waste. Carpet liquidators was not helpful and I have told everyone I know with dogs and kids to avoid the mistake I made! read more

Kiko and his crew completed our Condo carpet reno project replacing 15 year old broadloom carpet with modern carpet tiles. They finished our 7 level, 8000 square foot space in 2 days and did a fantastic job! Kiko and his guys were really thorough with the installation process and paid attention to all the small details. There were some missing screws from years past on the metal transition pieces on the floor, and Kiko made sure he replaced the missing and broken screws so the transition pieces would be held securely in place after finishing the carpet. The crew also was great about picking up after themselves ensuring the work areas were kept clean. We had a water leak in the building during the installation process. Kiko was very understanding of the situation when I explained to him the fiasco we had to deal with. He was very accommodating and asked his guys to work around the area the next day when the emergency water mitigation team was onsite. Kiko was the last one to leave on both days, tying up loose ends and answering my questions. He let the workers take a break at the end of their long work days and dealt with the last bits of random things personally. I still can't believe he had the whole thing done smoothly and with quality control in 2 days, way ahead of the 4-5 day original projected timeframe. During an install on 6/27 an installer from Carpet Liquidators met my concerns regarding the following issues with their install with swearing and promptly leaving the project site after hastily packing up and leaving me with a pile of garbage on site and a half finished install. Four main issues 1) Lack of carpet in the closet. 2) Said installer broke a toilet and refused to fix it at my suggestion. 3) The brand new linoleum laid in the kitchen has a tear in a location that does not receive sufficient coverage with trim and thus will remain visible. 4)The half finished install. After contacting Michael Jerrett (Installation Manager) with said concerns, he began deflecting the issues. Stating that was his best installation crew. After repeated attempts to have the Carpet Liquidators fix their mistakes, they agreed to finish the installation on 6/28. When asked what to do regarding the leaking toilet, I was asked to put a bucket under it. Nobody was coming to help or solve the issue. Instead I was provided with a wrong email repeatedly to send the pictures of my concerns to. On 6/28, Michael Jerrett replied to my email from the correct email that they will not replace the broken toilet and instead asked me to retain the plumber to assess the extent of CL mistake. I was born on a Tuesday, but not last Tuesday. The plumbers charge for a visit, and Carpet Liquidators would have me pay a plumber rather than them doing what is right and fixing their mistake. My repeated calls and emails asking for them to stand behind their work have been met with further deflections. However they did send a crew to finish their project on 6/28 but not to address the concerns with broken fixtures or the brand new torn linoleum in the kitchen. read more

This is my third time working with Carpet Liquidator - once from their Kirkland store and twice now at their South Seattle store. Here are the pros and cons I've noticed. Overall I'm fairly happy with my experiences and will continue to work with them in the future. Pros: -Spacious and large warehouse set-up, lots of selection, usually has some sort of special pricing such as free installation -Really nice quality carpets for a reasonable price, nicer and less expensive than what you can find at Lowe's and Home Depot -Their installation work is great, high attention to detail and looks very well done afterwards, consistent as well -Easy to schedule, on time for their appointments Cons: -As one of the previous reviews mentioned, they do measure with more overage than I've seen at other places. My home is 1300 square foot, about 400 sq ft of which is not carpet, and their measure came out to be 1200 square foot (granted there are two sets of stairs which probably took more material). When I asked they said it's because they bring the carpet in 12x12 ft pieces and have to cut down to adjust -They have a limited selection of non-carpet (tile, laminate, and vinyl) which are also more expensive than what I've seen at other places Also note that they do not do installation of floors which they didn't sell to you for liability reasons. read more

We needed to replace carpets in our home, so we went to the Carpet Liquidators in SODO. Our positive experience: 1. Generally, very friendly sales staff. 2. We were explained with the upcoming costs that we will face - so no surprises there. 3. They helped us by installing the carpet the next weekend. This was important to us. Our negative experience: 1. The guys who came to take the measurements did not take the shoes off or wear any protection to save you from scrubbing the floor. Even we are in COVID 19 times where the hygiene should be placed high, these guys don't seem to be bothered by that. 2. The measurements they took where exceeding ours by 100 SQFT. Shane (we talked with later over the phone) was nice and he explained why the measurements they took where different and it made sense. So, after having that cleared out we have chosen to go with them. 3. We paid all the expenses the next day for the carpet and the installation. So far no bigger issues. Sam Schuster who worked with us was also okay, but you have to pay attention to what he is doing otherwise you might pay more than the estimated value. 4. The day of our carpet installation - the guys arrived on time. - We pointed out (again) that we would insist them to take the shoes off - but it did not work. In the end - we had to place a carpet piece in front, so they can clean their shoes. - They have ruined the freshly painted walls - I needed to take care of this what caused me additional extra costs - and they left without to say sorry. - I needed to clean the floors since, you guessed it, they were dirty. The best of all - we paid for the extra 100 SQFT of carpet and carpet pad material - and they just took it. They did not bother to ask do we want it? Let me be clear, I am not talking about small pieces that needed to be cut because the fitting, I am talking about decent size pieces, that could be used for other purposes. Putting this into perspective, my rough estimate is that they took around 350$ in material (again, without to ask: Do you want to keep this?). read more

I had an outstanding experience with Carpet Liquidators this weekend. I'd bought small remnants from them before, and just love the remnant selection. Plus they're right across from Costco so I see the signs all the time. This time I had 3 rooms to carpet so I planned on using CL again. I brought my measurements to the store on a Saturday morning, and Andrew offered to help me. He looked at my diagrams, I asked if he had any Smartstrand remnants that were big enough, and he quickly found 3 options, one of which was just amazingly high quality at such a great price. And the color I wanted! Plus Andrew knew the products (including the carpet padding) extremely well. Andrew had his installer, Jon Davis, on the phone before he'd even run my credit card. Jon called me later in the day, and asked if he could install the carpet the next day! Haha we were still finishing the subfloor but sure! He knew we had a 1pm show, so he made a point to arrive by 12:30pm. He texted me when he was on his way. They did the install while we were out; I called at intermission to check up. They let themselves out and Jon swung by after we got home to collect his payment. He said I could call anytime if anything emerged/went wrong with the carpet. He was really friendly and professional, and had no trouble with my custom request. The installation looks AMAZING. No visible lines *anywhere*. I almost don't need baseboards. Jon took care of the transitions beautifully, which I thought I'd need to DIY later, so that saved me time/money/effort. The carpet is SUPER SOFT, I just want to cuddle it. I have a little remnant to do any patchwork that might be needed in the future. Turns out Andrew did a really excellent job estimating how much carpet I'd need because almost all of it got used. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. I've bought a lot of flooring in Seattle, and I've worked with a lot of installers. It has never been as easy or as fast as this experience. The communication was excellent. Walk in on Saturday morning, done in an hour, have installed carpet by Sunday afternoon. And a really good price for a luxurious, low-VOC, kid-friendly carpet. What could I possibly complain about? Wish I could give them ten stars instead of five :-) Edit: 300sf cost $1300 altogether (including the top-end carpet and underlay; I could have saved $300 if I'd gone with the mid-range). read more
