Paskett Auto - Autozone Diagnosis 2 days After getting a new Set of Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs supposedly put into my car

After getting New Tires at Sam's Club, and an Oil Change at one of the "Take 5" locations here in…read moreOgden, the Check-Engine Light Popped up not to long after. I was Recommended to go to one of the Master AutoTechs by several people here in town{Ogden}. I instead checked the reviews and saw that Paskett Auto had Way More History and Great Reviews online. So I went with them Instead Before I took it there, I brought my car to Autozone there on Riverdale to get their diagnostic test, and then brought the Print Outs to Paskett Auto, and handed it to them. The Nice Lady, Brenda said not to worry, as their guys will do their own tests and resolve the Check-Engine Light issue from there. The guys come back from the garage, and recommended I have them Replace all the Spark Plugs and Coils, and since I don't like to Procrastinate, I just told them, ok, I'll go with it all now then just to get it over with. After the Job was Done, the guy behind the Counter{my memory with names are so bad sometimes, I'm sorry} told me that those parts come with warranty, and that if any issues occur, be sure to come back. Hey! The Check-Engine Light was gone, and it seems that everything is ok! ~ 2 Days Later, my Check-Engine Light comes right back on, and this sucks because it's Thanksgiving Day! No shop is going to be open, but Paskett Auto did promise that Warranty with the parts, And Sadly, I'm Not Swimming In Money, so my Best Bet would be to just go Back to them. Is this even a good idea? From Thanksgiving day, the Friday after, and the Weekend, they're closed those 4 days... which is Understandable, It's a Holiday Weekend.. I drove my car back to Autozone there on Riverdale Rd on Thanksgiving{Surprisingly they Were Open} because I don't like to procrastinate ~ to see what the problem is This Time, and it's the same exact Issues, the Same Cylinders showing that they're Misfiring! The fellas there told me that the shop I took it to could have just Said they switched out all the coils and spark plugs, but instead, just left a few old ones, or not have done it at all. I hope they're wrong. I think from this lesson, Now On, I'm going to stick to what the locals recommend{as I'm new to this city Ogden}, rather than try and go forward just based off of my Own research. Sucks because I'm not making that much money at this time, and I get Gypped like this. Life has many curveballs that's for sure. It's a 2015 Volvo, nothing super fancy. It's Also not in terrible shape, so I'm grateful, but from the indicator, it Needs to be worked on... again, for the Same Issue. So I decided to wait until the next day Paskett Auto Opens, December 1st, and peacefully enough, I didn't even raise my voice or lash out on the phone after this reoccurrence happened, proof can be shown to them on their end~ if you call them, the operator message before the dial sound even Begin says "This Call will be recorded for Quality Assurance", they'll have proof That I stayed calm and collected during the quick conversation, letting her know my Engine-Check Light Came back On 2 days later after their shop visit, And I respectfully told them that I'll call them back after work. I had to be at work at 8am Monday Morning, the Monday right after that 4-day weekend, so I called the Paskett Auto Number Earlier Than their Opening Time [7:55am], and to my Surprise Brenda Picked up the Phone! My Plan was to just leave a voicemail and ask for a Scheduled Time to possibly swing the car by to hopefully get this situation resolved? That Repair was Not a Cheap Fix. I just told her my situation instead because she Did pick up, but I had to Work in 5 Minutes, so I told her I'll Call them again once I get off of work, and rushed into the clock-in room. When I got off work I did call, but instead, after each call attempt the Hang-Up Tone Went Off after ringing for a short time. I called the number a little more spaced apart just to see if maybe they were just too busy at the moment, or if all the people at the desk might be in the restroom. The phone just rang for Less than a minute before the Hang Up Tone/Disconnected Alarm-sounding tone went off. What the heck? After This Behavior, there's No Way I can trust them now! My goal was to at least ask them for the next possible time I can swing my car around, especially with the problem Not fixed, and with the Amount I payed That Day After Their Own Diagnosis and Repair Solution. This is just it, I can't figure out why they won't pick back up, and after that 5-Call Attempt becoming Hang-Ups, I don't think I can even trust this business again, even with All their Wonderful Reviews! What the heck?? If you're Not From around here, or look very young, I'm guessing it's Just Safer or just Smarter to stay away from this business, and maybe check out a Master Autozone like I was recommended here several times beforehand. "Sigh", what a roller coaster. Best of Luck, hopefully You people have better luck than Me!

Today I took them my 2 of my boat trailer tires with puppy dog eyes and said we were going boating later and was it possible to get them done within the next 2hrs so we could still go. I was in and out in less than 30 min. As I left I thanked Dustin for the rapid service and Dustin told me, "of course we had to get you out there, have fun boating". Their mechanics are conscientious and honest. I have never been over charged and sometimes they cut a price break if something takes a lot longer than they anticipated. Also if they run into something unexpected the is more of a specialty and have to refer you to the dealer (which is rare) they will work to make it right. I have and will continue to recommend them when asked where to take a vehicle. Thanks Cam, Sean, Dustin, and Donny.

2nd time having issues here now…read more I specifically requested an AC diagnostic and explained upfront that I had already replaced the compressor, had the system charged the day before, and that a full leak/pressure test had already been performed. Instead of moving forward with a true diagnostic, they repeated the exact same service (discharge and recharge) that had just been done, and then charged me $285 for it. In the end, I'm back to square one--still not knowing what's wrong with my AC, but now out the money for a redundant service I did not need. To make it worse, I was told I'd need to pay even more for a diagnostic... which is what I had asked for in the first place. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. Be careful coming here for service and make sure they're clear on what you're requesting, or you may end up paying twice without answers. Always ask for Donny. He is awesome! He wasn't available when this happened.

Fast-forward to October 2025, I got a tire pressure warning light, checked my tires, and found one still losing air after refilling to the recommended PSI. I called Tony Divino Toyota to schedule service and asked if the Platinum Tire & Wheel plan covered it--but was transferred multiple times between Service, Operator, and Warranty, even getting hung up on a few times. After several calls, I finally reached someone who understood the program and helped set up my appointment. At first, the visit went okay. Christian, the service specialist, helped me get the tire covered under the plan and order a new key I had lost. Since all my tires were low on tread, I replaced the full set and also had an oil change done. Normally I do my own oil changes, but due to personal circumstances, I couldn't this time. When I asked about torqueing the lug nuts to spec, Christian brushed it off with, "yeah, yeah, they hand-tight it." That didn't sit well with me--I take pride in keeping my vehicle in top condition, and I expect the same care from a Toyota service department. Communication afterward was poor. When I called to ask about pickup time, I kept getting transferred and the only answer I got was "We don't know." The next day I got a text saying my car was ready, and I appreciated the Uber ride they arranged for pickup. When I arrived, Stephanie was hesitant to print an invoice breakdown until another employee told her she could. After paying, I asked to have the service recorded in my Toyota account--like my previous dealership always did automatically--but it never showed up online. I also requested email copies of the invoices for my tire warranty and oil change, but weeks later, I still haven't received them. Overall, the customer service and communication were disappointing. The tone shifted once payment was made, and I found my experience matched many of the negative reviews I later read online. I really hope management invests in better communication, service training, and understanding of their own warranty programs. On a positive note, Mike, the tire specialist, deserves recognition. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful when I was choosing new tires. He recommended Yokohama, but after research, I went with Toyo. Mike's great attitude and service were the highlight of my visit--if it weren't for him, this would have been a one-star review.
