I called John and he responded right away. He explained how he would clear the ice off my roof and gutters. He sent his crew the next day. They were fantastic. He came by, spent about 10 min walking around, rang the doorbell and gave me a sheet of paper with the quote. Easy and painless as that. I asked for roof quote and got exactly what I wanted. He did not need to come inside or make me listen to a 2 hr sales pitch. I've had at least 2 other companies who tried to do that when I was getting a roof for the quote. 1 of them gave me a quote on sidings instead. The other did not even give me a quote because I decided to kick them out after half an hr. After getting some other quotes I decided to go with Robert and he agreed to come out 2 weeks later. His crew came on time as promised but he wasn't physically there until the end of the day. Overall his crew was efficient. They finished within 1 day as promised. The shingles looked okay, not as flat or even like our neighbors but it appeared to be just fine. They finished the roof before a big snow storm and rain/wind storm within the same week. It was able to withstand everything just fine and no noticeable water leak or anything in the attic. I did discovered a small chipped wood area in the attic which I can see some of the underlayment and shingles but water was not getting through or anything. I will continue to monitor. They actually was supposed to install the chimney as well forgot so they returned a few days later to complete it as promised. Overall fantastic job from Robert and his crew. From the quoting process to the fast efficient work. Cosmetically the shingles could have looked a bit better and more even but functionally it seems to have served its purpose and was worth it for the price I paid.

Out of four roofers, I settled on Sousa and another well known company as the finalists. One guy…read moregave me a price that was ridiculously low. That was a red flag so I threw his quote in the trash. The third was comparable in price with Sousa and the other, but the sales guy was not so friendly. Like I owed him for his time. Maybe because he saw me as an elder so he felt he could try to take advantage of me, not sure. First off Sousa wasn't the cheapest and frankly about $800 more than the other roofing contractor. The reason I chose Sousa was because they gave me their cost up front, with a very detailed proposal listing everything even with costs up front in case I need to replace plywood etc., and didn't try to haggle me with extras. I did ask if they could take some money off, and they agreed to discount 300 bucks. Still a few hundred more than the other roofer but my gut was telling me lean towards Sousa. There was no start high, then sell me this and that, we have the Cadillac version, we have this version. Just give me a damn quote that tells me what I get and how much. So something didn't sit right with me, so I went with Sousa. Gave them my word over the phone. The next day I met with the owner and we signed the contract and scheduled my roof install. Within six days I had materials delivered, crew showed up at 7am and a new roof installed by 5pm and everything cleaned up. The owner set his guys up in the morning, then popped by again a few hours later and we chatted for a good hour about everything but the roof. What a fine young man he is. Very down to earth and good person. I'm happy with my roof. We have had a lot rain since and no issues so far. My son who lives in Plainville also needs a new roof and has already signed up Sousa to do the work at the end of June. I highly recommend Sousa Roofing and would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a roofer. God Bless.

Not the cheapest roofer, but definitely the most professional I encountered. No pressure to sign on the spot. My roof was 28 squares--a big boy. Nick Munroe is a life saver! Quite literally. Although I didn't schedule a new roof or…read moreconstruction, I had an unexpected emergency on my way to work. While driving on the highway towards Boston, my drivers side tire flew off, dinged the guard rail, and crossed two lanes of traffic and found itself into the woods. I immediately noticed a truck behind me with its lights on, and out comes Nick willing to do whatever he can to help me out. Normally people that stop on the highway behind a broken down vehicle and there for moral support to help you call whomever you need to fix things. But Nick took initiative, took my (half) tire off, helped me figure out a plan, and even took my boyfriend and I down the street to purchase a new tire at a store he and his company had an account with so I wouldn't have to wait in the cold for Triple A. We get back, he puts the tire on, my car is dead. Nick pulls up next to my car, gives me a jump, and now we sit safe and sound in our home thanks to Nick. When his card says 24 hour emergency service, that is no short of the truth. Thank you so much Nick, and for those of you who are looking for a new roof or construction tasks, look no further!
