I needed to have the roof replaced on the estate house within 30 days for insurance purposes. I contacted Vaz Construction and was connected with Elijah DeSouzs as my project manger. He was the best. The roofing crew worked from morning until night and they were great! They left no mess or debri in the yard. If you need any construction work done, call Vaz and ask for Elijah. You won't be sorry.

One guy would be there for three days and then someone new would show up and have no clue what the last guy did. One of the employees painted the bathroom walls without even wiping the walls down after sanding. What a mess and it had to all be redone, which I am sure would not have happened if I did not complain. At one point, I had to tell the project manager that I did not want anyone in my home until I met with him. The lack of craftsmanship, and integrity was upsetting to say the least. Who puts kitchen cabinets in before painting??? Once the job was complete, it took Vaz Construction another month to come back and finish the things that were not completed. Overall the experience was very disappointing, even more-so with the amount of money they charged us for their sub par work.

My experience after the initial proposal was that this contractor provided minimal supervision, and frequently was not aware of the specific progress of the work. The company's lengthy response to repairing mistakes in work - and there were at least eight - was less a demonstration of responsiveness than an indication of incompetence. I would not recommend this company to friends or family.

My experience working with Northeast Roofing Contractors LLC was amazing. I would absolutely…read morerecommend them to my friends, neighbors, colleagues, or anyone that is looking for a new roof or roofing repairs. The owner was very honest, transparent, and upfront right from the beginning. He takes great pride in his work and his word. He and his workers have a very strong work ethic. We had constant contact throughout the entire process. The workers worked non-stop and the work was completed on time as promised. They take pride in their work and they worked diligently and efficiently. This included the cleanup process. They also offer a financing option which was a big deal for me. Most contractors require a percentage down in the beginning and then the balance when completed. I was not able to have all the funds available, so I opted for partial financing. I wish all contractors were this willing to go the extra mile for their customers. It says a lot about a person who really means what they say and stands wholeheartedly behind their word and their work. They really did go above and beyond what I ever expected, it was a great experience. I wish they did more than roofing because I would hire them for all my projects.

Not the cheapest roofer, but definitely the most professional I encountered. No pressure to sign on the spot. My roof was 28 squares--a big boy. It was installed in April of this year, and so far, no issues, even with the heavy downpours we have had. I highly recommend Sousa. You essentially get what you pay for.

That was a red flag so I threw his quote in the trash. The third was comparable in price with Sousa and the other, but the sales guy was not so friendly. Like I owed him for his time. Maybe because he saw me as an elder so he felt he could try to take advantage of me, not sure. First off Sousa wasn't the cheapest and frankly about $800 more than the other roofing contractor. The reason I chose Sousa was because they gave me their cost up front, with a very detailed proposal listing everything even with costs up front in case I need to replace plywood etc., and didn't try to haggle me with extras. I did ask if they could take some money off, and they agreed to discount 300 bucks. Still a few hundred more than the other roofer but my gut was telling me lean towards Sousa. There was no start high, then sell me this and that, we have the Cadillac version, we have this version. Just give me a damn quote that tells me what I get and how much. So something didn't sit right with me, so I went with Sousa. Gave them my word over the phone. The next day I met with the owner and we signed the contract and scheduled my roof install. Within six days I had materials delivered, crew showed up at 7am and a new roof installed by 5pm and everything cleaned up. The owner set his guys up in the morning, then popped by again a few hours later and we chatted for a good hour about everything but the roof. What a fine young man he is. Very down to earth and good person. I'm happy with my roof. We have had a lot rain since and no issues so far. My son who lives in Plainville also needs a new roof and has already signed up Sousa to do the work at the end of June. I highly recommend Sousa Roofing and would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a roofer. God Bless.

So we went a-searchin'. BuildingPros.com was helpful in finding a contractor in our area who specialized in residential circumstances. Bob (no relation to The Builder) Schofield promptly replied to our inquiry on BuildingPros.com (http://carpenters.buildingpros.com/build/name/City+Carpentry+LLC_Providence_Rhode+Island_1000280), and was quite friendly! We scheduled a time (about one week out) for him to drop by and check out the space. Upon inspection he agreed that it was about a 5-hour job and let us know that he was available THAT SAME SUNDAY for the work! Wahoo! Sunday: Bob arrives with his truck'o'tools and set up a work station (saws and whatnot) next to our condo building. He was SO friendly (even our easily frightened feline enjoyed his company!), and was a quiet worker (aside from the to be expected assembly noises). He completed the task in about FOUR hours, we exchanged payment and "thank you"s, and he was off! Our material & labor cost was $550 (~5hours labor, three slatted red cedar shelves 2'x2.75'). The end product is WONDERFUL and exactly what we had wanted! Expertly installed and very professional appearance (I almost felt bad to load them up with our storage items!). I would certainly recommend City Carpentry to anyone in the market for quality woodworking/carpentry results.
