Was here for Celine Pham's modern Vietnamese showcase lunch. I absolutely loved everything. Starter of grilled octopus was mouth-watering. I couldn't put my fork down till I had had every piece of it. My main of pork with potatoes and sesame sauce was also perfectly done. She had braised the pork just appropriately and every ingredient was very flavourful. Loved the ambience - simple, spacious and modern. I appreciated the little details like the abstract paintings on the wall -- made me feel like I was dining in an art studio of sort. Service was prompt and good. They went out of their way to bring my friend extra potatoes in lieu of bread as well. Would love to go back!

An unique dining experience. I discovered Carousel via a VIP dinner for an industry conference I recently attended. I was valledupar the last min as my boss could not make it - I am a lucky bastard ;) Coming from New York, I am total newbie to the London foodie scene. I didn't know anything about the the restaurant except that they served pop-up dinner by visiting chefs. I love the concept of "being able to taste the food from all the great restaurants around the world without leaving London". I am intrigued :) Upon arriving , I was greeted warmly by the host who shown me to the upstairs space. The setup resembled a modern art gallery - artsy, bright and airy with two small balconies on one end of the room. After a few drinks, we were guided to the basement dinning room. Services were friendly and attentive through out the dinner. We were given a 3 courses set menu with two options in each course. I opted for the beef tartar for starter, roasted hake for main and chocolate cheese cake for dessert. All nice and refined, though not anything exceptional or mind-blowing. I think it would be better coming for one of the pop-up dinner by visiting Michelin starred chefs from different country and cousins. I will have to leave it for my next time in town :/

    The special menu!

Can't say that i was that impressed with the food here. Tiny portions and average service, won't be coming back any time soon.

Everyone was attentive, welcoming, and made the whole meal feel easy and relaxed without being too formal. Food wise, everything was really good. I ordered the cacio e pepe and it was cooked perfectly. Simple dish, but when it's done right, it really hits. The drinks were also great and ended up being the perfect start before walking around the neighborhood afterward. Overall, just a really solid Italian spot in a beautiful part of London.

The hostesses were nice but spunky, taking no crap whatsoever. Our waitress was very nice. We had a stop and chat with her midway through the meal. There was a variety of wines at a variety of price points. The primitivo got the job done. The restaurant presented an excellent bread basket to start. It was delicious- a great contrast to the notoriously bland bread that we recently had in Florence. We shared an order or grilled asparagus to start, in a somewhat futile attempt to be healthy. It was pretty good, but there were a lot more interesting choices at the top of the menu. My wife had the tortellaci with ricotta and spinach. It was very good but was sitting in a pool of butter. I had tagliatelle Bolognese. It was good. Very nice space with very good food. Keep the outdoor seating in mind for a nice day.

The bartender was absolutely charming and amazing, and he made a truly outstanding Ramos Gin Fizz (a cocktail from New Orleans that few people know how to make, and even fewer want to make). Not sure how that cocktail came up, but he seriously deserves a round of applause for making not one, but two. He truly revived my soul! I split the gazpacho and short rib pasta with my husband. The short rib pasta was magically both light and hearty; it was exactly what we needed after 18 hours of travel. We frequently travel, and I am highly skeptical of Italian food when outside of Italy. Bocconcino was an authentic experience that rivals many of our meals in Rome. Maybe it was jet lag, but I did almost lock myself into the water closet and luckily after a few minutes manage to unlock the stall door without calling for assurance. I suggest visiting with a friend for gossip and security! As far as ambiance, there was great people watching with the Saturday evening patrons; it was an experience in learning about London 'going out' fashion, and watching the very attractive staff interact with customers was a prime education in upper class customer service/flirting. My parting comment is that the bartender stole my heart and I hope to have another of his delicious beverages on a future trip!
