I googled other braid salons in the area and found African Hair Braiding Studio. I made appointments for two of my nieces (11 year olds). They were able to do their hair (knotless box braids) on the same day at the same time and the braids came out very pretty. It's a nice, clean and new salon. Both ladies were personable and professional. I plan on returning for myself and with other family members.

But I needed my hair cut and this place was one of the only ones still open, so I took a seat and waited my turn. Chet, who I think is the owner, was finished first and started cutting my hair. He's a very pleasant man who made me feel at ease as soon as he started cutting my hair. He took his time and did a really good job cutting my hair and lining me up. He somehow just knew what I wanted and did it, and now my hair looks amazing. I don't even have to style it in the am. I would HIGHLY recommend Chet for all types of people, and for ethnic hair especially.

Lucy, this was an absolutely unacceptable violation. Four inches gone. I'm devastated. She also accused me of "telling her how to do her job" simply because I said I'd like some point cutting. She asked what I wanted, then acted insulted when I described the haircut I came in for. The worst salon experience of my life, and I haven't even addressed all of the issues. Passed by Le Shag the other day and recalled the only time I went in there, August 2022. The…read moreexperience was odd. Booked a cut with a Junior Stylist for $55, last appointment of the day, so I wasn't expecting the world, but still ended up disappointed and with a cut that looked barely better than what I did myself at home during COVID lockdowns. When I arrived, only my stylist and one other woman were there, but I could never tell if she was the receptionist or just the stylist's friend. I'm 90% sure they were both stoned. No shade as I was stoned myself, but I was the client paying for a relaxing experience. Junior Stylist sits me down in her chair, asks me what I want then stares at my hair and zones out for a bit, then just starts dry cutting my dirty hair without washing or even spritzing it. We chat a little bit, and she's very nice, but also keeps looking over to the second woman, who's been playing on her phone the whole time, and giggling. When she's finished cutting, she halfhearted asks "Oh, did you want a shampoo too?" By that point, I was anxious to get the hell out of there, so I said no. The cut was decent, but only slightly better than what I could do myself at home. Not at all worth the price. All in all, a very strange experience and I will never go back.
