The thing that made me book her specifically was that she featured people of color on her Instagram. As a Filipina, I didn't really trust any instagram that didn't have a single brown person. I loved the work I saw for Bella Trucco and decided to go with my gut and book her, and I'm so glad I did. She arrived the morning of my wedding with two assistants. It was four people, including myself, getting our hair and makeup done. They were so nice and friendly, and even though we each had some idea of what we wanted, Tara and her assistants were great at suggesting things to us that would best bring out our features. I was so nervous getting my makeup done because I had already spent money on two other makeup trials and hated them. As soon as Tara finished my makeup, I was so happy. I didn't feel like a clown with too much makeup, I got so many compliments on my lip color, and my eyes were absolutely perfect. My mom, sister, and friend also loved their hair and makeup. I was in town for one of my friends wedding and needed to get my hair done soooo bad! I went to yelp and typed in hair-braiding and so many different other things. But she came up and just by looking at her pictures I knew she would be good. I then called and she was very friendly I explained the craziness that was going on with my hair and she told me that she could do it and it would be no problem and that she could see me that evening. Since I was from out of town I had no idea where a hair shop was, so Aseelah meet with me and my friends and then showed us where the shop was and even helped me to make sure I got the proper hair and matched he color perfectly! We then went to her I home hair studio, which by the way was very clean and her family was so kind, friendly and respectful! In other times when I've had my hair in box braids some of them would fall due to be to them being too tight, but these were just right! Also, she gave me great suggestions on how to care for my braids properly. I now have them out, but when I get braids again I will be going to Aseelah again. Oh! Did I mention that I'm from Massachusetts and she is in New York?! So I will be traveling for such professionalism and good work!
