I first met Christina in September 2024 at a women's media conference where she was a vendor. She immediately exuded warmth, professionalism, and passion for her craft. I fell in love with her energy and her products right away, so much so that I knew instantly I wanted her to be a part of my big moment. Fast forward to my book launch: Christina welcomed me into her beautiful studio and created the most natural, luminous look that was exactly what I needed as someone who doesn't wear makeup regularly. She honored my desire to look like myself, just a little more polished and camera-ready, and absolutely delivered. She event kept my freckles shining through! I received so many compliments that night, not about the makeup, but about how glowing and confident I looked... and that's exactly what great makeup should do. Christina is the perfect blend of artist and pro - attentive, patient, and truly invested in making you feel your best. If you're looking for makeup that enhances you without masking who you are, Christina is the person to trust. I'm so grateful to her for helping me shine during such a special milestone. Highly, highly recommend.

Her work on my hair was also impressive - I wanted my hair half up/half down but was worried that the high winds at our ceremony site might ruin it. It turned out to be perfectly fine though, and my curls lasted throughout the entire night. As some other reviewers have mentioned, her husband helps with communications and bookings, and finalizing things with him may take a few tries. Luckily I found working with him to be fine, particularly when I switched over to texts for smaller inquiries, and as long as I was careful to double check details. The assistant she brings with her varies and some seem to be better than others (assistant for my friend's wedding was good, while the one for my wedding seemed to be less proficient at doing hair). However, Kary will step in and provide assistance / guidance where needed. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Kary. She goes above and beyond for a HMUA; she'll even help with your dress for portraits and does constant touch ups until she leaves. She's so so so great that I promise you just need to book her, you won't regret it!

I was really happy with my looks throughout the event and Kary was attentive throughout, really glad to have hired her. During the makeup trial she listened to my needs and took times to try multiple styles and looks until I'm comfortable with my choices. Her makeup style is very beautiful and natural at the same time, she has a great understand of Asian features. I felt very beautiful. During the event she stayed around for almost the whole ceremony to reception, helping with touch ups and outfit/look changes. She was also great with my mother and bridesmaids, patient and giving styling support when my mom had questions. However I think there's room for improvement in her team. The second HMU she brought with her to help with the other half of my bridesmaids was not as good. My bridesmaid mentioned that her side bun constantly fell out and after asking to be fixed multiple time they just ended up fixing it themselves. The second HMU also didn't seem to have the same joy as Kary and wasn't too friendly. Outside of that, Kary's husband Eugene does all her booking, scheduling and communications. Have some patience for him to get back to you and double check the booking times as I experienced some mixed up during the trial booking. Overall I would definitely recommend working with Kary for your makeup, you will not regret it, she really took good care of me.

When I reached out years later, she not only remembered me, but also details from our previous conversations. That level of thoughtfulness immediately reminded me why I wanted to work with her. She's so warm, personable, and genuinely cares about her clients. During my bridal trial, I was amazed by how meticulous she is. She took the time to consider my dresses, makeup and hair preferences, and overall wedding aesthetic, while offering thoughtful recommendations and making small tweaks as we went based on my feedback. She even notices things like whether I was dehydrated or hadn't been getting enough sleep! It's clear she has an incredible eye for detail and wants you to look like the best version of yourself. On the wedding day, Lydia made me feel the most beautiful I had ever felt in my LIFE (I did not want to remove my makeup). Her team also took amazing care of my bridesmaids, mom, MIL, and sister, several of whom were getting professional hair and makeup done for the first time. Everyone looked stunning while still feeling like themselves, and the whole morning was so fun and relaxed thanks to Lydia's positive and calm energy. If you're looking for a talented HMUA who is incredibly detail-oriented, collaborative, and truly invested in making you feel your best, I can't recommend Lydia and her team enough. I'm so grateful they were part of my wedding day and while I hope I only have one wedding, I'll absolutely be looking for any special occasion to be Lydia's makeup canvas again!

It can be difficult deciding what look to go with for your wedding day, but during the trial she took the time to understand my vision and provide the right level of direction and input. She spent the time tweaking the makeup look until it was just right and trying multiple hairstyles to match not only the dress but the overall style and vibe of the wedding. The little details she thinks of are truly what set her apart. After I mentioned I'm a crier, she ordered giant q-tips and hid them in my bouquet just in case, tucked in so seamlessly you couldn't even tell they were there. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare and made me feel so taken care of on one of the most emotionally charged days of my life. She is also just genuinely wonderful to be around. Getting ready on your wedding morning can feel hectic and nerve-wracking, but spending those hours with Lydia felt easy and fun. She has a warmth and energy that instantly puts you at ease, which is exactly what you need when the butterflies are at an all-time high. I rarely wear makeup, and I was blown away by how good I looked and felt - like the best version of myself. The makeup also photographed wonderfully. My mother, mother-in-law, and bridesmaids looked gorgeous, and I never felt more beautiful in my life. Nikki, Emily, and Yoong were all incredibly professional, polite, and a pleasure to work with on the wedding day. I had done several photoshoots in the past and had my hair and makeup done by various stylists over the years. Not all of them were equally well-versed in working with East Asian clients, and I had a very diverse wedding party, so I was insistent that our wedding makeup artists be versatile and competent. Their master stylist Nikki really blew me away on the trial date, and I felt great going into the wedding day knowing she knew exactly what look I was going for, and how to achieve it. Since our wedding day started early, I decided to hire Nikki to stay with me for an additional 5 hours for touchups throughout the afternoon. I don't regret doing so for a minute: Nikki not only made me look fabulous all day; she was calm, supportive, and encouraging, and freshened up my look before I headed into the second part of the day. Susie, in the months leading up to the wedding day, was highly responsive, clear, and flexible in accommodating changing plans. She worked with me to optimize the schedule, helped coordinate a trial session for my mother, and in general was informative and thorough whenever I reached out to her with questions. I was handling all this from across the country and had tons of questions and concerns, which Susie promptly and patiently answered, thoroughly setting my mind at ease. We hired her for hair and makeup for events over 2 days of the wedding weekend. I should mention that my daughter never fusses with hair or makeup and really had little interest in even doing this! She didn't do a trial session and really had no specific ideas about how she even wanted her hair done! I explained all this to Susie ahead of time and she dealt with it beautifully - making suggestions and coming up with the perfect plan for 2 different hair styles for the 2 days and makeup slightly more subdued the first day to see how Alicia liked it. Well, I was stunned - not just at how gorgeous it was - but because Alicia totally LOVED the whole process and the final result!! I attribute all this to Susie's calm, sweet and knowledgeable manner. She explained everything perfectly and her suggestions were spot on- it was obvious that she was a seasoned pro! I wouldn't have thought it possible, but by the second night, Alicia was really into a more dramatic look which was PERFECT! Also, we had some last minute timing issues which Susie was kind enough to accommodate by juggling her own busy schedule. I simply can't say enough positive things about Susie, her work and most importantly, her sweet disposition! I would recommend her highly and without hesitation!
