Obviously this was not preferred so I called Lewisville Motors to have a used one pulled. Long story short, he found a new one (preferred for this age of car with a turbo) close to the used priced and could have it the next day. I was schedule to leave to go there to see my daughter play in a volleyball match around 2pm so was worried about the arrival time. Lewisvillle called me at 9:00am and said they had the radiator. They saved the day and now the shop in a Banner Elk has their contact information to order parts.

I'm not going to say a whole lot as I don't want to mess up my friend's court case, but BUYERS,…read moreSERVICE PATRONS, AND CITIZENS BEWARE. My friend worked there for three years and not only did they screw her in the service department INTENTIONALLY misdiagnosing her car as needing THOUSANDS in repairs, they terminated her employment and her health insurance benefits even though she was one of the top salespeople every single month and had zero issues until she had to report her manager to HR for buying illegal drugs at work, abuse, retaliation, etc. Instead of doing the right thing, they tried to offer her a very small amount of "Gag money" hoping she would be desperate enough to take it especially now that they had forced her into two car payments and she's a type 1 diabetic single mother of 3 - they really thought she would give up her rights to even SPEAK of what they have done to her because they offered her 1/8th of her salary for "severance pay." She's told me some horror stories of service screwing people because it's "their job and they're told to leave their integrity at the door," of salespeople and finance trying to screw little old ladies out of money, things that would just blow your mind. If they can treat someone that made them a ton of money this way, how will they treat you? Think about it. When she can speak out, she intends to. Newspaper, evening news, this is a story to be told and unless they significantly increase their offer, she's going to move forward with a lawsuit and keep her rights to speak! As a side note, because of the stress she's currently been admitted to the hospital going on day 3 and found out that the hospital benefit they took out of her last check won't pay out because they specifically called the company and told them to terminate it on 5/3. She will have to file an appeal. They also took out hundreds of dollars for a rental they claimed she had up to the morning they terminated her although she was forced to buy another car at the end of the previous month. So they one hundred percent falsified documents to steal from her. Doctors are telling her the infection she's fighting has only gotten worse because of the stress. They knew she was battling a serious health issue and she had just submitted FMLA paperwork, but before the deadline, they wrongfully and illegally terminated her employment. Think about this next time you even consider taking your car to Modern for service or buying a car from there. They don't care about people. Only MONEY.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE…read more If I could give a negative rating, I would. Extremely disappointing and misleading experience at Carmine's Import Service. I was told by Tesla that my 2020 Tesla Model Y Performance needed a battery pack replacement. Before committing to Tesla, I called this shop and spoke with someone I believe was named Max, who assured me they could do the job and had third-party battery options that would be cheaper than Tesla. Based on that information, I paid $400 out of pocket to tow my car from Raleigh to their shop. That's where the red flags started. * It took over two days just to get a diagnosis, and I had to repeatedly call for updates. * I was charged $243.13 for the diagnostic, despite the delays and lack of communication. * My advisor, Marissa, told me she was "looking for a battery," which alone took another full day. * When I finally received an estimate, I was shocked: $28,000 total, with $23,000 claimed just for the battery. For comparison, Tesla charges around $13,000 for the same battery replacement -- and I personally found a compatible battery online for $14,500, which still makes their quoted $23,000 battery price extremely inflated. When I asked for a detailed, itemized estimate (battery source, labor hours, cost breakdown), I never received one. They could never explain where the battery was coming from, how many labor hours were involved, or why the price was so high. I asked twice to speak with a manager. Messages were taken both times. No manager ever called or texted me back. Because no repair was done, I then had to pay another $500 to tow my car back to Raleigh, wasting $900 total in towing alone, plus the $243.13 diagnostic fee -- not counting time and stress. Between the lack of transparency, the exaggerated battery cost, the inflated estimate, and zero management follow-up, this experience felt misleading and unprofessional. I wasted time, money, and trust bringing my vehicle here. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
