Where do I begin? If I could give this shop zero stars I would! After many years of fatefully going to Foreign Accents for any and all car repairs and not encountering any major issues, my luck had finally run out! In January, my car was having some idling/vibration issues due to worn out engine mounts. I brought my car in to have the engine mounts replaced and not even a few hours later, was called with amazing news that I had a "laundry list" of issues with my car!? I was informed that I had a few CEL codes (which was news to me as I did not see any lights on the dashboard) and that my total repair work was going to be around $2,500!!!? I decided to go ahead and proceed with the work seeing how my inspection was almost due and the car wouldn't pass inspection with the CEL light on. Upon getting my car out of the shop, not even a month later, my car starts having idling issues again, but this time, even more severe than the first time. My car started having misfire codes and running too lean and would almost stall at complete stops. I informed the shop of what was going on and was told to bring the vehicle back for further inspection and to leave it for a few days. At this point, I am already livid as I have spent way more than I wanted to and my cars' drivability is worse than the first time I brought it in. Upon the shops "thorough" inspection, they informed me that I had a few more CEL codes and that I had bad spark plugs and a misfire on cylinder 2 and that the new slew of charges would be around $700!!? I reluctantly paid this bill, and thought that my troubles were finally over and that I could drive off into the sunset! Boy was I wrong! Not even 3 days later, I was driving home and my coolant light came on. I pulled over to check the coolant level and it was BONE DRY!!? Funny how just 3 days prior, Foreign Accents performed a complimentary vehicle inspection and everything checked out fine. Hmmmm, interesting!! Maybe I just have the worst luck in the world or maybe, just maybe, Foreign Accents failed to perform a thorough inspection as listed on the repair bill. By this point, I have already spent over $3,000, missed many days of work due to no vehicle (Foreign Accents doesn't do loaner vehicles due to COVID) and I wasn't going to pay for Uber, Taxi, etc. and was having severe anxiety attacks due to stress. Not one time in our correspondence did Foreign Accents try to make things right by correcting the issues or owning up to any mistakes possibly made by the mechanic. All that was said is that "You have an older vehicle that is repair and maintenance heavy" and that "Our mechanics do thorough quality work". I think for anyone to take their vehicle to a "Professional" shop that prides themselves on customer satisfaction and guarantees the job done right the first time, would be pissed at the quality of work performed when each time they get their vehicle back, it is running worse than before it was brought in!!!??? How does that make sense? Why would anyone want to pay that kind of money, just to get the car back and driving worse? All I can say is, Foreign Accents can take my money and go on a little vacation or give their family a good meal or two, because it will be the last of my money ever going to that business!!!!! I know they are probably going to read this and say "Ah, who cares, it's only one customer", but word of mouth is much stronger than anything and I can bet you, that anyone who asks me about car repair shops around here, I will definitely inform them of the horrible experience I had and to tell them to stay away from Foreign Accents like the plague! Repair shops need to own up to their mistakes and not make the customer feel like it is their fault. I feel like my car was sabotaged just so they could get more business from me, or get me to sell my car to them so they could turn around and fix the issues and make a profit, which isn't right and if I can prevent this from happening to someone else, then that is my duty of this review! read more
