Told me if you want to save money pack as much of it as you can and we'll pack what's left. We packed up 90% of the house. There packers came to my house weeks later to finish and was there for 1.5 hours and charged me $850.00. After the move the price was $800 more than what was quoted to me because they said we were 3000# over the estimated weight price. I can see being off by 1000# but 3000#? When I contacted the "franchise manager" Chris of the Garner, NC office, he told me he would look into it. Waiting for his reply verbally never came. A week later I received an email from him basically saying " tough shit" and he charged my credit card. The balance of the move with the additional $800. What better way to get your business. They give you the cheapest quote and charge you a deposit then after the move is done they tell you your weight is more than they said it was. That goes for the packing portion also. If they would have packed my entire 2300 sq ft house how do they come up with $1500-2000 quote? It would have taken them at least 4 more hours to pack the whole house and would have been much more than quoted. These guys under quote there prices to get your business. When they do the job the price is considerably higher. Go with someone else. What is the purpose of a virtual walk thru when it means nothing to the final bill? I sent a message to Sawyers and was informed of an amazing promotion for Yelp customers that saved me a ton of money. You will not be able to find a comparable service compared to the price Sawyers can give you. They actually moved us on a Sunday which was awesome because roads and both apt complexes were pretty quiet. The 3 men (Dimitri and crew) were extremely friendly, focused, and intricate with their packing and loading. I'll admit, I was pretty stressed out about the whole moving process but as soon as their truck pulled up I felt a wave of relief. They finished everything up in about 4 hours and I can't imagine how long it would've taken me to do it myself. They took a lot of care to place everything where it needed to go and wanted to make sure we were happy with the job. I can't recommend Sawyers enough! Furniture looked great after the move and movers were even early to unload the next day. The movers went above and beyond by tightening some legs on a table that were loose before loading it. Our bed, an antique bed from the 1800s, a jewelry armoire, a toy box - all completely torn apart. The loss was devastating. They didn't have their own truck (were late because they had to pick up a moving truck from U-Haul),tools or furniture tarps, so they needed to use my tools to disassemble and reassemble my furniture. Upon moving out the younger and more inexperienced mover dropped my dresser drawers from the 5-drawer dresser and 3 of the drawers cracked. I was promised they would be repaired or the dresser entirely replaced and have not heard from the owner/movers in a year. I even tipped them because I was in a bind and needed to move quickly. But as the old saying goes "you get what you pay for", this definitely wasn't worth the damage to my furniture and no additional follow-up. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone. I could've rented a truck myself and paid some friends in pizza and beer for better service
