Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Greens; and Cornbread
Omara R.

I have not been to Carolina Kitchen in over 15 years but so glad I came across one last week. The fried chickens batter was light, crispy, flavorful full of herbs. The Mac & Cheese didn't real, it was super yellow but super delicious, chessy, creamy, the cornbread was moist and a bit sweet; the greens were smoky and tender. I will definitely go back.

Dry pork chop

Just got pork chops Mac and greens. Haven't had a pork chop in four years and this one was so dry I could barely chew it.

I look forward to Friday Nights. Not for TGIF purposes, but to eat the food from Carolina Kitchen. Now, their might be a line but that's because I'm not the only one looking forward to eating here. They have a tried & true system where you'll be in & out, depending on the person in front of you. I get the Mama's Stew Chicken - it's my. Go. To. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with whatever sides you choose. And if you're not interested in take out, you can eat in their spacious dining room area. If you're in the Brandywine area & are looking for some good Comfort Food... pull up! #MallyMallApproved

My order
Nikki R.

I ordered the salmon, sweat potatoes, and greens...what I got was pork chops and mac instead. I called the same day and the manger wouldn't even come to the phone. The person I spoke with said they wouldn't refund me the difference over the phone. I didnt want to drive all the way from camp springs back to brandywine to prove I received the wrong order. I said I could send them a picture and they still refused to refund my money. Poor customer service on their part. Your management sucks for that. I dont even like the pork chops . Over charged for something I didnt order and dont even like. Thanks alot. I dont think I'll be coming back anytime soon or ever.

Creole Salmon

Usually, I love this spot for a quick, delicious home-cooked meal, but this visit was a letdown. I always go for the creole salmon with red mashed potatoes (as advertised), creamy Cajun sauce, grilled shrimp, and a lump of crab. It used to be $39 and was spot-on, but now it's $50 and seriously lacking. They skimped on everything, and it was way too salty. The only saving grace was the collard greens. Huge disappointment. Also, a heads-up for those with allergies: knowing what's in the desserts is crucial. The bread pudding had something that caused a reaction. Service it was , I think knowing what you serve is important. Also, for the decor having more lighting would help. Chairs are having a lot of wear and tear. Probably won't be back for a while. Onward to tastier adventures!

This is such a great restaurant. The hospitality was amazing. I felt very welcomed. It's mostly a to go order but they have seating if you wanted to eat in there. The food was good and authentic. My favorite was the collard greens on the side. It's was such a cute place with all the decorations. I would definitely recommend.

Not worth the price for what you get. $25 for ONE piece of catfish is ridiculous! $9 for one COLD serving of peach cobbler, eventhough the ticket states warm cobbler - False advertisement!! The cashier said they only serve cold cobbler. When I got home and actually saw what all I got for $41.87, I was mortified! Then as I tried to eat the cobbler, I find something in it that I can't make out. At that point, I just trashed everything. What a waste of money. NEVER again!!

What are the operating hours? Tried to call and it sounded like a personal phone where the voice mailbox was full.

11am-10pm. Weird! Maybe something was wrong with the phone at the time? Normally a recording for them comes on if they're unavailable but it doesn't sound like a personal phone at all.

It is located next to a convienance store and there is ample parking available between the two. The restaurant has a small dining room with a few tables and chairs. They have a large Connect Four and Jenga game in the dining area for customers to hang out and play. You will see a couple of televisions in the dining area. One was off and one was playing music from a music streaming service. The service started off a bit slow, but it picked up eventually. I ordered a Philly steak and cheese with a side of greens, French fries and Mac & cheese. It took about 25 minutes for me to get my food. With that being said, I recommend calling your order in ahead of placing it on-line. The owner, Kim, is awesome. She is very friendly and full of personality. She gets to know her regulars and loves her community. As for my food, there was a ton of it. The Philly was packed with meat. I really liked my sandwich. The Mac and cheese was delicious. Very cheesy. The greens were definitely fresh and did not taste like they were from a can. They were just like my mom use to make. There was a ton of food, and I could not finish it. I got a container, put my left overs in it and finished them off later that evening. I recommend checking this spot out for some decent home-cooked soul food.

It's an honor to support her business! All of the vegetables tasted like they were farm-fresh--nothing was frozen! The green beans were expertly cooked with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. The best green beans ever! I would love to get these again! The mashed potatoes were so creamy and the yams were nice and sweet, but not too, too sweet. They were perfectly balanced and had the best texture! The meatloaf was made with all of the love in the world! Now, since it has lamb, the flavor is very, very prominent. I'm not really a big meat person but this was a cool touch, and I'll try anything once! If you're a huge fan of lamb, I recommend it. I loved how there was gravy at the bottom and the traditional tomato based topping on top! I shared with my brother when he came to visit, he tore it all up! Lol. I was excited to give it a try and ordered the crispy lobster, egg, and cheese sandwich with a side of tater tots and a side of butter-glazed biscuits. The biscuits did not disappoint, and the tater tots were perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for my sandwich. When my sandwich arrived, I cut it down the middle only to discover an extremely runny egg yolk, which personally grosses me out. I really wish restaurants would ask how customers prefer their eggs prepared rather than automatically serving them runny. Thankfully, a manager noticed I wasn't eating and proactively stepped in to have my order corrected, which I genuinely appreciated. However, once I finally got to enjoy my sandwich, the lobster was SO excessively salty that it completely overpowered everything else. I ended up feeling nauseous a bit later and was sick for the remainder of the day. What made it even more disappointing was that I could tell the sandwich had the potential to be delicious, but the excessive salt completely ruined it. I appreciated the manager's attentiveness and enjoyed the sides, but the main dish was a huge disappointment.

Lol no biggie because Its just one wing. Could have been a mistake. Who knows. That wasn't the biggest downside. The bake bean and green beans were delicious I loved everything including the BBQ wings. So my 9 wings and 2 sides came up to 20 dollars and something. Not bad at all considering my son and I shared this meal and felt completely satisfied after eating it. In this economy, every coin counts. Now, the biggest problem I had when visiting this establishment is that, the smell of unrine was heavy. They did have a sign on the front door " No public bathrooms". I could only assume that there was a problem with the restroom they had. But my God, that smell was a huge turnoff. If I wasn't in a crunch to get dinner for my son, I would have walked out the door in disgust because of that smell. They definitely receive grace this time but if this is a on going problem, it really should be address. Because yuck...Who wants to smell urine when picking up their food.
