The ladies at the store have been working here for as long as I can remember, and they run a nice store. The prices are great and they have all the appliances you'd find at places like Walmart/Target, as well as a lot more (like sous vide vacuum sealers, mixer attachments, and even Vitamix blenders). I remember a long time ago I bought my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer here and it's been a trusty culinary sidekick for nearly a decade. All the accessories have come from here as well. I found a couple of places online that were marginally cheaper, but I like the fact that I can pick it up same-day and I like the people here so it's a win-win to support the business. They always have deals and specials going on. It may look unassuming from the concourse of the mall, but make sure to give them a look. While I don't do all of my kitchen shopping here, I know I'll always find a bunch of things I could use at a great price!

Once I entered the store and start browsing, I was quickly reminded of how many gadgets are available to make my life in the kitchen much easier. The only problem is keeping then out of the hands of others and keeping up with them. Kitchen gadgets are a must! Check out Kitchen Collection and I am positive you will find something, at least one thing that you won't want to leave the store without. Their prices are a bit lower than other retailers and they have sale items throughout the store.

It's been five years - and I am still finding issues with this renovation and room addition. It has…read moretaken several seasons to finally find and close all the entry points for the mouse infestation they left behind. I heard mice in my walls the very first night I was back in my house (I moved out for four months during the construction). One wildlife pro (I call several) found 13 dead mice in various stages of decay in the wall cavity of the new addition. And I am now investigating a moisture problem in the addition. Every time it rains for more than a day or so the floor in two corners of the room become damp. I thought a pet had had an "accident" there, but then I notice there was no odor. It seems moisture is seeping up through the floor. I had to replace the very expensive French doors in my bedroom after a year because it was installed poorly (or something). It would not close properly and dragged against the floor when opened leaving curved scratches on the hardwood. I had to take down all the closet doors and shave off the bottoms because of the same issue. And it's hard to find outlet covers that will fit because they cut the holes in the drywall too large for the outlets. The list just goes on and on...

We had constant contact throughout the process with the project manager as well as the carpenter. I could not have been more impressed with how the whole process went, and how comfortable I felt throughout the entire process. They exceeded my expectations and I couldnt be happier with the final product. The only negative was during demo they damaged some garden items.

Having visited IKEA locations in Ireland and Sweden, I've seen how they take the concept so…read moreseriously over there--it's an entire cultural experience. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.

Like always, as soon as we get there we head to the restaurant. I always get the same thing, Swedish Meatballs. Can't beat how good they are. My grandkids love them too. My son had a Caesar salad which he said was very good and fresh, and my husband had a chicken thigh with black beans and rice and fried plantains. (We were very surprised to see a meal that you would normally see in a Florida IKEA up here in Charlotte North Carolina. I have to admit it tasted very good.) We hit the bathrooms afterwards, spotlessly clean considering how busy it was, and then we went shopping. I will say that there was quite a few open and empty spaces on the second floor in the furniture department. I'm not sure if they were re-organizing or had literally sold out after the holidays. Good thing though, we found what we were looking for things to the help of workers who know the place better than we do and advised us which shortcuts to use. All the workers we spoke to were super friendly and helpful. The value was good as always, IKEA might be slightly higher priced than other places but I have a few pieces in my house that are almost 30 years old and still in excellent condition. It was easier to get here than we thought and we really enjoyed our day here. We can't wait to go back.
