wow! Great selection of a wide variety of fabrics from basic to high end. Jason provided customer service above and beyond any I've experienced in the past 5 years. What a pleasure it is to support a small business and have them appreciate your support in return. As AHNULD "The Terminator" said, "I'll be back." read more

A Gem of a store in downtown Miami. Convenient to Metro Mover stations (all lines). Great Selection! Outstanding Service! All the of staff that I've interacted with have been helpful and friendly. Jason gave me outstanding service even though I was making a very small purchase. Great selection and a very good deal.

The place is utter chaos and the owner stinks of booze and argues with every customer , not sure how they're still open ! Fabrics and other items all over the floor it's a lawsuit waiting to happen, you literally can't see the wood for the trees read more

Amazing selection of fabrics ! Staff is great and helpful. They even helped me figure out how to sew with this new fabric I got.

I walked in with a regular so my review might be bias. That is the benefit of return business. Out with a group of girls shopping for dresses and/or fabric to get unique dresses for an upcoming cruise. The theme was very broad and we didn't want to be duplicates of whatever would be selling online. We first walk in to a very busy store. We are snaking around people to whatever catches our eyes. The inventory is very large. After about 30 minutes we are still unsure exactly what we are looking for but are approached but some of the workers. Nothing pushy just asking if we needed any help. After another 10 minutes or so Jason appears and asks us for details. He's going from one side of the store to the back and around grabbing all possible options. Prices were very reasonable but I wasn't going to turn down his extra discounts. My Bollywood jewel and fabric headdress turned out beautifully. I'd definitely recommend this fabric shop over and over. read more

Definitely a five star service and especially his patience. I kept changing my mind because he had so many beautiful fabrics to choose from. Thank you Jason, remember you're invited to our engagement party!!!! Saving six chicken wings for you!! read more

Needed fabric to match a gown I bought. Jason was the most helpful and quick to look to look for material and color to match. Right away he told me that if he doesn't have something I like or if he doesn't think it's a good match, then he will send me to other places that he knows. What a nice an honest person! it was an absolute pleasure to do business with Jason. Also, they are in the midst of remodeling the store, so asa I walked in, Jason apologized for the way things looked and spent as much time as needed for me to find something suitable and be happy with. Also GREAT prices! read more

I've shopped at Carol Fabrics for the past 3 years and I could not be more pleased to be a customer there. I am always greeted warmly and received ample help when looking for a particular fabrics for my projects. I have never had an issue with the staff, both Jason and Steylin are both honest people who I trust greatly when unsure of how much fabric to purchase for different projects. I highly recommend visiting the store and receiving the same warm welcome and familial greeting as I have experienced in the three years I've been shopping at Carol Fabrics. read more

Came in for some upholstery fabric, was extremely impressed with the amount of stock they had to choose from. The owner was really helpful, friendly and gave me a great price. He and his coworker David were great guys, really friendly and super funny. Was a real pleasure shopping in their store, great customer service that you usually don't find in Miami. I might go back just to hang out with them! read more

This shop looks like a tornado hit it. It's almost impossible to walk around. Despite one of the men at the counter bragging that their fabric is cheaper than mood's, i immediately found a fine houndstooth wool fabric that sells for $29.99 a yard at mood. It was $39.99 at Carol fabric. Moreover while I attempted to shop, the men at the counter openly complained to each other that I wanted to look around rather than ask for fabric directly. It's a shop. Looking around is what people do in a shop? One of them also talked trash about nearby rosa fabric. From which I'd just purchased fabric as I'd been treated nicely there. I'm not going to tell you to go to mood or rosa, but I'm going to suggest you don't shop here. read more

After visiting neighboring fabric stores, my friend and I visited Carol's. We were greeted at the entrance by a rounder of discounted fabrics of varying types, colors, and lengths. We should've known we'd be in for something special when we found scraps displayed for sale (smh). When we entered, there was fabric literally everywhere with no real order. The most disappointing was there was no pricing on a lot of it. The woman behind the counter was initially pleasant but the longer we stayed in the store and the more we questioned her about the pricing, the shorter she was with us. My friend requested 5 yards of b/w challis and 5 yards of multi colored challis both of which were cut short. I got 1/2 yard of a scuba knit which was on a roll instead of bolt. I offered to assist her with cutting my piece to ensure accuracy since it can be "fun" cutting from a roll. She declined saying she had years of experience and could do it by sight and guess what: my piece was cut short. Before leaving, I fell in love with an awesomely vibrant fuchsia knit that was measured and priced to sell. The price tag had been stapled to the fabric and the top layers of the fabric was stapled together. Because there was a run near the tag, I was a bit nervous about removing the staples. I expressed that and the young man who joined her behind the counter asked the woman if it was ok if the staples were removed first. Boy did that send her into a tizzy. The young guy re-explained what I wanted which seemed to calm her down.. Long story short, I won't be back! Pros: - none Cons: - tiny store with fabric crammed in every corner - no pricing. lady at the conter seemingly makes up prices when asked about the price of a particular fabric - expensive - fabric is filthy. when I got my scuba knit back to the hotel, I noticed one end was disgustingly dirty. I wanted to take it back but the entire experience with her was draining. - fabric is not cut accurately read more

Who cuts the selvages off fabric? Carol does!! WHY?! I got home before I noticed my selvage was whacked off, and unevenly. 5 YARDS. Watched Carol measure out 5 yards of another fabric in the store. Got home and remeasured myself, was shorted a few inches. According to Carol, she'd rather free hand it than measure accurately. So, to sum it up, Carol's logic is she'd rather short the customer a few inches rather than give me what I paid for. Never again! Do yourself a favor and pass on by! read more

Needed the final touch for a Mary Poppins costume. It's for Disney so needs to be special but for a 2 yr old so didn't want it to cost an arm and a leg. Carol fabrics has many options at great prices. I went in for the first time looking for fabrics for my bridesmaid dresses. I knew the color and dress I wanted to make but was open to which fabric I should move forward with- Jason was so helpful! He ran around the store getting me all possible options until I was happy. He custom ordered for me since I needed a large amount and my price couldn't be beat. Everything was very quick to receive and he updated me the whole time. Make sure to go here for the best price and look for Jason! read more

The place might be small but they have a decent selection of materials (apparel fabrics primarily). They also had precut pieces on sale in the middle of the store. The woman we dealt with (Gilda) was the sweetest woman I dealt with out of all the fabric stores in the area. They have a hilariously awesome "store policy" ... "prices are subject to change based on customer attitude" because let's not kid ourselves, people can be jerks. This place is definitely a little hidden treasure worth taking a look at. read more

I recently went shopping for fabrics in downtown Miami and was extremely pleased with the selection of fabrics and service at this store. It looks like a dive from outside but when you enter there is an amazing selection. It's best to speak to the owner as well (I assume the lady is the owner) because she was very helpful in locating what I wanted. The quality of the fabrics cannot be underscored as well as the service. Not all the fabrics were on display but she had samples that you could look at. I made a selection based on a sample and her son retrieved it from the back or upstairs. I was looking for a knit and while there are a zillion different types of knits, she was able to help me find exactly what I wanted with a little description. She also has a promotion rack with 2-3 yards of good selections and amazing prices - make sure to check it out if you go. It is hard to find a good fabric store COMBINED WITH good service in Miami but I will keep returning to this one for sure!!!! read more

This Place is Horrible!! They may have beautiful fabrics, but make sure not to piss off the owner because prices will go up!!!! They even have a sign hanging up behind the register that reads " Prices are subject to change according to customers attitude". Wether this was meant as a joke or not? This is how they treated my group. The baldy with the glasses was just the rudest!!! We took our business next door!!! Make sure to look at the picture I posted with the sign!!!! Just rediculous!!! Never again!!!! I wish I could give this place negative stars!!!! read more

Carol Fabrics - REALLY?!?! - Fabric Stores Near Me - Miami, Florida

So I just visited this fabric store for the first time and this was the worst experience I've ever had as a customer in a place. I had previously gone to several other fabric stores in search of specific fabrics I had in mind to fit the theme of a design collection for school and had no luck finding them. I came to this store and immediately noticed the wide array of different fabrics that they carried. So my hunt was over and I found exactly what I wanted. As I was getting ready to leave I overheard one person that worked there complain to ..I'm guessing his wife who also worked there..about me only wanting to purchase 1/4 of a yard of fabric from each of the ones I had chosen. I explained I only needed some samples and that I was a fashion design student. That we present collections on illustration boards with fully rendered croqui, technical flats of our designs, colour stories and SAMPLES of the fabric swatches we want to use. Our teachers critique our designs and decide upon ONE of these designs to be fully made and sewn so it makes no sense to purchase several yards of all these fabrics if the whole process of just ONE design is later determined by the teacher after critiquing the collection. After explaining this, it was a disaster. The guy that helped look for my fabrics (whom by the way was very nice) got into a heated argument with the man that complained with his wife about me not buying more yards of fabric. The guy that helped me had always dealt with students from my university so he knew how the process went and completely understood what I needed to present to my teacher. Let me say that at this point with all their bickering I felt so uncomfortable and embarassed that I wanted to storm out of there. I was so furious that these people were complaining about the amount of fabric I was buying when other stores give you fabric samples for free. I didn't even ask for a sample here..I went ahead and decided to at least buy something. They should have been satisfied with exactly that.. and that I wasn't a customer who went in just to look at some fabric and waste their time. I came in feeling beyond satisfied with the fabrics I found in this place because they had such a wide variety to choose from but left so dissatisfied and upset with some of the attitudes in this place. It was horrible. Even though I had found the fabric that was so hard for me to find I don't think I'll ever be back here again. I'd rather stick to Rex Fabrics where the fabric is a bit more overpriced but the treatment towards customers is always great. In the end I didn't want to purchase anything from this place due to such a bad and uncomfortable experience but I reluctantly decided to take it anyway cause the guy that helped me was patient in helping me find stuff. read more

The owners of this shop are some of the rudest I've ever encountered. They trash talk the neighboring fabric stores and accuse them of jacking up their prices, yet they are the ones who do not clearly price their fabrics and want to negotiate on the price. They have a sign that says "prices are subject to change according to the customers attitude" all joking aside, we translated their Spanish to each other instructing their staff to quote us high and give us a big discount so make us think they were giving us a deal. We found some fabrics there we liked, but chose to take our business next door, where we spent over $2,500 as we do every year. If I could give this shop negative stars I would. The bald guy and his mom are rude, crooked and out of order. read more

This unique spot has the best selection of fabrics with very competitive prices. More importantly, Jason and his team are incredible! I love that Jason is extremely honest and has a no nonsense approach - something I find to be lacking in most places nowadays. They truly take care of their customers - unlike any other place. If I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, Jason would take notes and let me know when he got new fabrics in that might match what I was looking for. I found exactly what I was looking for and will definitely be going to Carol Fabrics for all my future fabric needs!! Thank you Jason & Team. read more

Jason and Danny helped me pick out material for mother-of-the-groom dress and lining. Needless to say a very important garment for me. They were both incredibly knowledgeable about fabric in general and knew the inventory of the entire store by heart. These are people who love the work they do, love fashion and fabric and provide excellent customer service. The store is cramped and completely full floor to ceiling with fabric, BEAUTIFUL - HIGH QUALITY - FASHION FORWARD fabric. With all that inventory they know it all, and they know how much is on each bolt/roll. I was impressed and I will be back to shop for fabric at this wonderful gem of a store in downtown again. I highly recommend Carol Fabrics . read more

As a fashion designer by trade and a fashion professor for many years, I find this store to be a treasure for our community. The lady who man's the cash register is rude and short tempered with a reactionary personality that is incendiary. She yelled at me cause I asked her if she knew where my credit card was? They had put it in my bag of fabric or it slipped into it. She went into a rampage and said we don't steal credit cards. I said, I didn't say you stole a credit card. I was just asking if you knew where my card was. Horrible customer service. Also their store is too cramped. You can hardly walk through the aisles and a person in a wheel chair or with a walker would likely not be able to look around. read more
