My mom developed stomach pain and nausea and ended up vomiting. Because of how unusual the meat felt, I contacted the owner and asked whether any kind of tenderizer or treatment had been used. He told me they do not marinate the meat with tenderizer. I explained that both of us had become sick and that my mom had vomited. What bothered me most was the response. I did not feel there was any real concern about the fact that two customers became sick after eating the same food. There was no sense of urgency, concern, or willingness to seriously look into what may have happened. I cannot say exactly what caused our symptoms, but I can say that the texture of the meat was extremely unusual and both of us became sick very shortly after eating it.
