I stopped by Don Peters' Carniceria and overall had a solid experience. The ambience is very much a traditional neighborhood carniceria. It is simple, busy, and focused on the food rather than aesthetics, which honestly adds to the authenticity. You can see the fresh cuts on display right when you walk in and it gives that real local butcher shop feel. Service was quick and efficient. The staff knows what they are doing and keeps things moving, especially when it gets busy. It is not overly interactive but it is straightforward and professional. The quality of the meat is what stands out the most. Everything looked fresh and well prepared. The carne asada in particular was well seasoned and consistent, perfect for grilling or making tacos at home. Overall, if you are looking for high quality meat and an authentic carniceria experience, this is a solid spot to check out. read more

Don Peter’s Carniceria - Butcher Near Me - Rialto, California

We've been buying picana exclusively at Don Peter's Carneceria in Rialto for the last year or so and it NEVER disappoints. Smoked on the big green egg for an hour and a half. HEAVEN. Cook: because it was so big, I smoked it at 250 until it hit 115, then opened the vents and let the vents go to 425 to get the fat crispy. Then cooked it until it was 122 internal. Pulled it off and let it rest 15 mins because it's so thick it's gonna carry over. If you only cook it at 250, the fat will be that rubbery fat. 1000000000/10 read more

I honestly didn't even end up getting anything so I can't say how the meat tasted, but when I walked in and saw that there was multiple meats that were brown I just left... I saw a TikTok about this place so I thought I would try it out but after seeing the bad quality of meat that they had presented i decided to pass on this carnicería and went to a different location. read more

Came in to this spot based on a friend's recommendation. The selection is a bit low, but you can tell they just opened not too long ago. But it's clean, workers are nice and prices are ok. We got some ranchera meet and salmon and all was good. read more

We have tried many different butchers over the years, and even some high end mail order companies, but this place is definitely the BEST. We tried them for the first time this weekend, by getting USDA Prime Filet Mignon. The butcher took the time to cut the meat exactly to the thickness we were looking for. The steaks were trimmed up perfectly and presented nicely in a tray. We cooked them on the barbecue and they turned out amazing. They were the best filets we have ever cooked at home. They were so tender, you could almost cut them with a fork. The flavor was rich, and didn't have any gamey taste at all. Everyone at the table said these steaks were absolutely delicious. If you are serious about steak, you need to give them a try. Their prices are much better than any mail order steaks, are very reasonable and super fresh. If I could rate them higher I would. We are looking forward to trying their USDA Prime Ribeyes next. Thank you for making our dinner with the family enjoyable. read more

Delicious! Very impressed! This was not my go to Carniceria, but it might be from now on. I bought chicken, diesmillo, both were prepared and both were tender, flavorful, and the price was very reasonable. I also picked up an habanero salsa, and tasted homemade. The staff was very friendly, and the shop was clean and organized. I was in and out in minutes. I will be back for sure to try some of their other meats. read more

Best carne asada in the IE, always come here and never disappoint. Soft and great tasting meat.

Soooo much fat on the meat. Chicharrones were so old and so hard. And the queso fresco tasted like rubber. Will not be coming back.

I saw this place as I was driving by on the 210 and decided to give it a try. I stepped in and purchased 2 pounds of Asada prepared for dinner and unfortunately was not paying attention as the clerk weighed and wrapped it. When I got home and unwrapped the package to begin dinner, I could not believe the amount of fat on the meat. It was an excessive amount of fat. Check out the photos and make your own decision. The clerk was friendly and the interior was clean which is to be expected from a new place. Overall I would definitely not return. While the meat had a decent taste, the amount of time I wasted, not to mention the added cost was just not worth the trip. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a butcher shop/carniceria. read more

I love this place! Really good quality definitely recommend making a trip to check the many varieties of meat they have to offer!

Have used Don Peters Carniceria multiple times for both our family parties and catering. Never disappoints. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. If there's a specific cut you need and they don't have, they'll go out of their way to get it for you. They carry a ton of Prime and Wagyu grade cuts if you are looking for something nicer and tastier. Top of the line stuff! Al Pastor and Chicken for tacos is my personal favorites. They even have some delicious seafood already made such as ceviche and aguachiles. And you can even grab the essentials for your carnita asada like tortillas and salsas there! Give them a try. You won't be dissappointed! read more

Carne asada wasn't overly seasoned and marinated. Had a good beefy flavor. Rib eye was deli shoes. The mexican chorizo was really good. Not oily and greasy. Had good herb flavor to it. read more

Pros: the quality of meat is very good! Salsa verde is super tasty . Service is great ! Cons: there is a mix smell of strong perfume ( or body lotion) and meat that does not go well for the product they sell. I have been here twice and both times I bought a bag of chicharrón, and both times the chicharrón bag had a strong smell of this lotion/perfume to the point that chicharrones taste like that too, so I had to throw them in the trash can because the nasty flavor. read more

I thought of giving this place a try. Will not be going back. I ended up getting taco meat since I was in a hurry to get home and cook. There was too much fat and it was so chewy after cooking it. Not the best quality. read more
