Here's the deal, the young woman on swing/night shift is beyond rude, and frankly, should be let…read morego. I once ran a small business where customer service was key to its survival, and it doesn't take much to make a customer happy, much less keep them neutral about something. It's the small things that have an outsized effect. Here's what happened: Beforehand, the young woman is clearly in a bad mood; being rude and raising her voice to other customers. I have a few things, I go to the counter after I hear "next," then the young woman asks me if that's all. I confirmed. She literally took my items and put them in the self-checkout and told me to use it instead, then walked away. If someone else told me this story, honestly I'd laugh because it sounds ridiculous. If I were to give her the benefit of the doubt I'd say that she might have wanted to speed up the line. If this were the case, it doesn't excuse disrespectful behavior towards customers. If the goal was to make someone use the self-checkout, then mission accomplished. I don't get offended too easily, but I imagine if someone else were in my shoes they could feel humiliated. If you owned a business, imagine having customers that felt humilated because of the very public treatment by one of your employees. It wouldn't be good for your local reputation. Furthermore, in this day and age, some people actually *prefer* to have an actual persom ring them up because they value human interaction. If Circle K wants more people to use self-checkout, then maybe signs asking people to do so would help, plus I haven't actually seen a single person use self-checkout the entire time I've been here. Here's the thing, I have been at this exact Circle K, at the same time of night, with more people, longer lines, with one employee; no one using self checkout, and the other, lone employees just did their jobs. Everyone was happy. Regardless of service, people will come here for gas and convenience - I will definitely be back because it's so close to where I live. That being said, yeah - the employees are always great except for the one that spured me to write this review. I'm willing to change my rating, or take down this review entirely if Circle K improves in this regard. Just ONE bad employee can really harm the way a business is viewed.

As I was looking for the items I needed to purchase I was asked if I needed assistance and if I found everything I was looking for. It's nice to see people go out of theory way to make sure your shopping expeirence is positive. After selecting some over the counter medicines I walked around the store and purchased juice, a few snacks, and even a "as seen on tv" item or two.
