A clerk et me in the parking lot and knew exactly where to send me for the phlox. The greenhouses are immense and pristine. The plants are beautiful and healthy. They had the phlox that I was looking for in three different colors. I picked the lavender. There were lots of beautiful hanging baskets and yard decor that was tempting, but I resisted. Check out was easy in the main building. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the plants. Three days later, the phlox is thriving in my yard.

Russell was very helpful. I was looking at gardening boots, but they didn't have my size. Russell called their other store and was able to offer some options. He was engaging and friendly. The store offers an array of grills, power tools, paints and general hardware supplies. The shelves are remarkably well organized and neat. Many shelves were empty as I assume they are preparing for spring inventory. Many items were on clearance including Yetis so there are some great deals. In the entry alcove is a fascinating history of the hardware store's evolution. The history dates back to at least 1889 when the store was located at 110 West Main Street in Carmel. The store has been owned by four families start with O. W. Nutt prior to 1889. Steve White bought the store in 1984 and built the current location on Rangeline Road in 1989. I love that someone took the time to capture the history. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. You can only enter or exit going north in Rangeline, but the roundabouts make going in the right direction easy.

In the store, you'll find lots of Carmel-related clothing to show off your school spirit, including Carmel school sweatshirts and Greyhound gear, scarves and beanies in school colors, and more. There are also sweaters and running gear promoting the Monon Trail! You'll also find jewelry, mugs and travel coffee cups, pillows, bumper stickers, and even tins of mints and treats emblazoned with Carmel insignia. For years I have used different companies to service my John Deere. Most places will not work on John Deere because of the unavailability of parts. Had a couple of good ones but lost them due to their going out of business. The bad ones were very bad. I have be lied to, taken on parts and labor and one had my tractor for the full mowing season and I had to go get the parts for him. Then I found Carmel Welding....what a find they have been for me. Brand was not a problem and pick up/delivery was better than reasonable. After checking the tractor over, they call me with a diagnosis, give me a price, time frame and they haven't been off yet. I have used them for two seasons to prepare the mower for the season. This year along with mine, I sent my sons tractor and my push mower. When my son bought his tractor from a friend, Carmel Welding picked it up for him and delivered it to his house for a very reasonable fee. As long as I have a tractor and they are there, Carmel Welding will always have my business and I have only good things to say about them! P.S. If you are expecting to take your lawn equipment anywhere right now and get it back quickly, its not going to happen. I learned years ago to send my equipment during the winter. read more

I have done business with Carmel Welding for nearly 20 years and Bill has never steered me wrong on lawn mower purchases, Stihl Blowers & Chain Saws. The also repair what they sell and what they don't sell. What you can't put in your auto can be picked up by Steve. The staff is highly competent and friendly. I highly recommend Carmel Welding for your shopping and repair needs. Yes, Lowes or HD may sell something cheaper, but you get what you pay for. read more
