After getting several quotes from other plumbers, ALL of whom bloated the price by trying to add an additional & totally unneeded repair (and one who also wanted to charge over $600 for the job! Are you kidding me?! Looking straight at ya, company that starts with a Tar- and ends with a -pee). So we went with Troy Plumbing who gave me a fair price quote online here on Yelp. When the plumber Rafael came out, he was honest and friendly, confirmed that nothing else was needed and he got started right away. He did a superb job, very efficient, cleaned up after he was done, and we are very happy with the install! Much like how a good honest auto mechanic is hard to find, it's the same with plumbers. When you find a great one, you hold on to them for a long as you can. As long as Raphael is there with Troy Plumbing, I'll go to them every time! Now, as far as their person who does the scheduling/appointments there, James...he caused a lot of undue stress on the day of the appointment and was very unprofessional. I sincerely hope I don't have to deal with him again, but I won't hold that against this company nor will I let that affect my score because Rafael was just that fantastic!

Fast response, very reasonable pricing, work fast and professionally. Will definitely use them againread more

I contacted Paul Blackard (owner) of Universal Plumbing (who came highly recommended by a good…read morefriend who has used Universal for all of her plumbing work) to get a second opinion on a sewer back-up problem in our house. The first plumber had told me that there was a dip in the sewer line and that the only way to fix it would be to tear out the slab and install a new sewer line, with a huge price tag and major demolition work. This didn't sound right and seemed drastic, as we have lived in our house for over 7 years and never had a problem before. Paul came out to our house this past weekend, looked at the issue, and told me that the problem could probably be fixed by jetting the lines to clear out the build-up. He was surprised that the previous plumber never mentioned this solution. He told me that we should have a video camera sent into the line to show the before-and-after-jetting-work. Although there is a slight dip in the sewer line, it was not necessary to replace the line, and we had the jetting work done and the problem is solved. I very much appreciate his honesty and professionalism, and give Universal Plumbing my highest recommendations.

There was a coordinated time because another contractor was coming right behind them. Frankie's technician arrived and hung around for a half an hour on the phone trying to figure out what to charge us. The technician needed help to remove the top appliance. After the tech wasted another few minutes I asked to talk to Frankie. (I called Frankie while the tech was at our house but he wouldn't pick up.). I asked the tech to call Frankie, and Frankie picked right up. Frankie is afraid of people and has a difficult time telling the truth. It was like his tech was putting the problem on us. The machines were stacked. I knew they didn't want to do the job when he came back with a quote of what is equivalent of about $250 per hour. Frankie gets rid of small jobs by over bidding. Frankie's plumbing is dishonest and they lack integrity. Frankie, is unable to take responsibility for his communication or his business practices. Frankie blames his father in law. Frankies Plumbing has been ripping off people in Mission Hills for too long. I would never recommend Frankies Plumbing. John Zukin

Trustworthy plumbing came to the rescue when another plumbing company was not only doing a poor job…read moreof lining my sewer pipes, but had damaged my main water line. Jay came through the same day to fix that main water line and explained how Trustworthy could line every bit of my sewer line with inversion pipe lining vs pull through which is limited to access points. The pull through method would not be able to line the entire cast iron pipe under my bathrooms, which was the whole point as they were in poor condition and had root intrusion. I parted ways with the other company and signed onto Trustworthy the next day. Jay and Scott have gone above and beyond, installing the best materials and doing an expert job of prepping my old cast iron sewer cleanouts (two) that would have been impossible to line past those points without removing them and replacing those sections with PVC pipe and new cleanouts instead. When they jackhammered through the concrete of my front porch to get to the old cleanout at the front of the house, they proactively replaced the main water line in addition to removing the old cleanout and replacing it with PVC. The pipe liners lined everything in one day, getting all of both bathrooms and the tie ins (sinks, toilets and tubs) under the foundation. They also did the concrete work to patch the hole when it was done, as well as patched a significant crack near my front door. I highly recommend Trustworthy plumbing. Jay and Scott are the best!
