They have fixed our vacuum a few times over the years and it's reasonable and so much better than going into landfill and having to buy a new one. read more

I brought my mother's 70+ year-old sewing machine in to see if it could be fixed. Tom really tried, but ultimately found that the motor was shot. I was surprised that he didn't charge me anything, even though he spent time on it. In this day of flat service fees no matter what's done, this was unexpected and very appreciated! read more

Took my Shark Robot vacuum to get serviced. Tom was quick with getting my vacuum back up and running again! I also found out that he does more than just vacuum but other appliances too! Highly recommend. read more

This repair shop is a wonder: YIn this: it stopped working, throw it away world. I bought a used sewing machine 25 years ago, at a garage sale. I brought it to this shop, first thing. He serviced it lubricating it carefully. It was made in Switzerland, a Bernina. Between this man and this machine, my wife and I have made a wide variety of crafts, costumes for our 4 children. Over the years it has been a valuable tool. I brought it back to him, to have it serviced again. I should be bringing it back at least once a year. This craftsman runs a fantastic shop. He is a treasure! read more

Quick consult extremely reasonable estimate and bill! Great hours and very convenient Access.

I want to thank and highly recommend the wonderful people at this establishment. I brought my mother's Sunbeam Mixmaster in for a new cord a couple of months ago and they fixed it right up! I was using it recently and speed adjustment knob came loose so I took it in and they tightened it up and it's just perfect! I have an emotional attachment to this mixer bc I remember all of the wonderful treats that came from it and I just love it. Thank you so much for taking good care of my gem. read more

Carmel Vacuum - Appliances & Repair Near Me - Carmel, California

My 40 year old vacuum started making awful noises, so I brought it to Carmel Vacuum. The owner fixed it for free but warned me the beater bar was falling apart. I looked at the new ones he carried and took my old one back home. The old one finally died. I'd done some research on the Riccar uprights Carmel Vacuum sold. They weren't super spectacular, but I'd been through buying some "spectacular" ones online and they'd died, while my old one had kept on going. So, I bought Carmel Vacuum's more expensive Riccar upright, hoping it would last even half as long as my old one. The first time the cleaners used my new vacuum, the beater bar quit working. Ugh!!! But I took it back to Carmel Vacuum and they were very kind and showed me the beater bar reset button (I apparently didn't do a very good job of reading the manual, which did an excellent job of explaining). I also took all of my broken "spectacular" vacuums to them for recycling (for free). I noted they fix just about anything and also sharpen knives. They're easy to get to, with plenty of parking. I'm so glad I bought from a local company instead of online (again) and can take it to them for servicing. read more

Always helpful and courteous He sharpens knives too. Lots of helpful tools for the home too. read more

This is most definitely the very best vacuum store as well as small appliances repair shop in our area. The Father and son who run this business are both extremely helpful and very friendly. I have ordered specific parts for my Miele vacuum cleaners as well as having them do repair work for me. They also sell Persil laundry detergent from Germany and although it's expensive one box lasts a long time. One Table Spoon of this detergent is perfect. This was recommended by the owner for my HE washing machine. This shop also sharpens knives and scissors and does small appliance repair and restoration. A great store with great customer service. I also appreciate the help I got from the son when my Father became extremely ill and needed an ambulance and medical help. I most definitely recommend this business!! read more

Fixed 2 vacuums. Fair prices, stocks bags. Would use again. Friendly owner. Easy parking.

We were searching for a vacuum to handle our household with pets. We had several friends recommend Miele's. I had never heard if them and searched the local big box stores and found none available. Carmel vacuum showed up in the search. It was 10pm on a Friday night and I sent a message on the messenger on the web site not expecting an answer until opening on Saturday. But promptly I received a response back that they had in stock! Even better lower pricing in the store. When we arrived we found a big selection of vacuums. Tom took the time to explain all the differences. It made our decision easy and we got a great price. I love to support local businesses and this will be a store we will shop at again. read more

Just came across Tom and his son at this place. Great find. I am an electrician and from time to time I need fixture repair done. They had it done in a short time. Several phone calls to verify the project and then voila, it was finished. The price is very reasonable and the work is quality. I will use and refer this business more often now that I know it is here and that they are great people. FYI, the response rate via a Yelp question was unbelievable. Within 15 minutes I got a response from them. Unheard of! Kudos. Enjoy! read more

These guys could not be friendlier or more knowledgeable. And they can fix anything! Prices are super reasonable, and it's never a long wait for a repair. I could not recommend them more, have been coming here for years with my Miele vac as well as smaller household appliances. read more

I have been so grateful that they exist and can fix almost anything. In the era of throw away goods, I am so happy to have someone who can fix things that were well made originally. They do small appliances, lamps, and most mechanical items. A true treasure of a business! read more

I've been coming here for 10 years. Always get my laundry soap and softener for my laundry washing machine. One time, I had a problem with the Miele softener product which turned to glop. I mentioned it to Tom - said he never had that problem before but gave me a new one. That was great! (Seems other folks had complainted also.) I have a Miele vacuum - since I purchased it new, I had difficulty with the long wand releasing. Tom fixed it - no charge. I've gotten a small hand held unit (don't recall the brand), that I haul to homes I have listed, small unit to also clean the car and computer. I always feel like I'm in the best of hands. Like family. read more

Prompt, very good at delivering sharpened knives, very friendly service reasonable rates

I emailed them to inquire about a potentially bad vacuum purchase from Craigslist. The vacuum appeared to be loose on one part and spewing dust out. Carmel Vacuum offered to look at it and help me out. I came in and service was prompt and professional. He looked at the vacuum, did some testing and inspecting and assured me the vacuum was in descent condition. He also gave me a recommendation regarding the belt replacement. He also gave me a mini run threw of the Miele brand as I was curious about them. Overall a very positive experience and I would recommend them to anyone in need of applicable repair. read more

Found it about this great shop through Bissell when I needed a repair. Tom is very experienced in his craft. In other words he knows what he's talking about. Very kind and knowledgeable. It's nice to know there is a place that we can go to and an honest opinion and repair of our small appliances. Five stars for sure! read more

Dealing with Thomas of Carmel Vacuum was such a pleasure. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy with our purchase, and as we had a number of questions I was so pleased he answered all our questions via email. The vacuum arrived in a timely manner and once again his attention to details showed in his follow up. Don't hesitate at all if you want great customer service. read more

I have always bought my Miele vacuums, bags, heppa filters and accessories from Tom. These are exceptional vacuums and I have used them in a business for over 15 years as well as for personal use. If a vacuum needs repair, you can trust Tom or replace certain parts. Actually I am looking at this website because I need a dishwasher to replace one that I don't like that is not a Miele which I had purchased from him before read more

Tom has restored my Dyson to "like new" condition every year, making it a better vacuum and extending its lifetime. He's also repaired a couple of old lamps for me and has a very interesting shop. Lots of stuff to look at and lots and lots of vacuum cleaners, too. Prices are extremely reasonable and I'm happy to recommend this family run business to my friends and family. Thanks, Tom! read more

Love this place! Thank you so much for fixing my Miele. You guys are awesome! You have my business for life.

I cant say enough about this shop. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Vacuums and appliances and most helpful with all restorations on Lamp Repairs. I am a Designer and purchase antique and rare lamps from all over the world and I have had total success on them refurbishing and bringing the old back to life. A rare find these days to find any company that matches this customer Service! read more

Yay! They fixed my 30 plus year old Husqvarna sewing machine! Thank You! Thank You!. I had taken this machine to other places over the years and never had any success at getting it back to it's old running self. What is wonderful is it only needed oiling and adjustments. Makes me wonder what I was charged for from the other businesses! Well, I have now found my small appliance store! They also did a tune up on my vacuum and it too works like a charm. Thanks again for keeping my good old machine running in this "Throw away world" read more

Oh my goodness these guys are great. Took a juicer in to have it repaired. They looked at it, found out the problem (it was a tiny problem that needed very little repair) and called me to come get it. No charge. I tried to pay them at least for their time to look at it but they refused. Great customer service. Certainly will be back with any other small appliances I might need to have fixed. read more

Thursday afternoon, I brought in a 16 year-old Miele vacuum that had never (?!) been cleaned or serviced--It had always worked great! Well, I turned it on one morning, and it had little suction. I'd held off on getting it serviced until I really had no choice--Concerned about whether or not it could be repaired; how much that would cost; would I need a new one; etc. Tom took it immediately and I already had it back Friday morning, all shiny and clean inside and out, serviced and even better than new!! Down the road, I will definitely purchase the next Miele from Carmel Vacuum & Appliance!! I am absolutely thrilled with these wonderful people's integrity, craftsmanship, pricing, efficiency, timeliness--It seems all too rare to be able to get things repaired anymore. I used to go to their shop for supplies when they had a location at Country Club Gate in Pacific Grove, and made a mental note of how friendly and kind they were. This Carmel location has tons of free parking, a huge plus. Thank you, Tom, and Everyone! I really appreciate all that you do, and all who you are! read more

Tom and his son Tom are great. I recently purchased a Miele vacuum brought it home decided I should have bought the next model up better carpet cleaning attachment. Last January my Miele vacuum suddenly stopped working so I took it to Carmel Vacuum & Appliance. The owner of the shop told me that the engine was completely burn't out and needed to be replaced for approx. $250.00. I decided to get a seconded opinion and took the same vacuum to a shop in Seaside where they fixed the contacts on the "on/off" button for less then $60.00. Beware of this business! read more

I would recommed this business to anyone. The owner is so nice and friendly and he fixes most small appliances that people may not know about. He always takes such good care of me when i go in there above and beyond.
