I would recommend CarMax to anyone and everyone. I've had two major car purchases since living in California and have NOT been disappointed. I really appreciate the no hassle or haggle when buying a car.

Everything went smoothly. (5/3/2025) Got a quote online first for selling a car, and after they checked the car, they confirmed that they honor the quoted they gave. The whole process took about 1 hour which wasn't too bad. Had a good experience overall. Would recommend.

I had a great experience with Kristen and Omar. Even when things came up outside of their control held up the process, they were always checking in and making sure that I had a positive experience. They were thoughtfully highlighting vehicles that would be the best fit and not trying to go outside of the budget.

Just wanted to say thank you very much to Roger for being the best salesman he was very helpful and straight forward i recommend asking for Roger if you plan on buying a car with carmax , CarMax made my experience very wonderful I don't feel bad about my purchase I'm happy with my vehicle I'll definitely consider buying another vehicle with carmax , I'm not the type to leave a review but Roger definitely earned it and everyone in the dealership is very helpful!

But I researched it and decided to go for it. It turned out to be the perfect happy medium between doing a dealership trade in (most convenient but least amount of money for your car) and selling my car privately (huge hassle but most amount of money for your car). I made an appointment and went to the Woodland Hills location. The whole thing took about an hour. They did an inspection, posted my car on their portal, and ran an online auction for 10 minutes where we watched a TV screen as about 50 dealers looked at my car. I got about 12 offers I think (10 is average) and I accepted the highest one. You don't have to; you could walk away if you wanted. But that offer was considerably higher than if I had sold my car to the dealership as a trade in. Maybe not as high as a private sale would have been because they are a middle man, but WAY less hassle. An hour versus weeks of fielding emails or phone calls, letting people test drive it only to be ghosted ... no thank you. They wrote me a check right there and I left my car. I had a friend pick me up. It was SO easy. I will definitely do this option again next time. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who handled everything; she was great!! Shout out to her and apologies for forgetting her name!

We called every "cash for cars" place in Santa Barbara and surrounding area. Most promised same-day pickup... but each time we'd find out it would be days to actually schedule a truck. Hours were ticking by, and we were concerned, needing to take care of this before the storage yard closed. I called Carstub and got Sergio. He saved the day. Within the hour, he found someone who wanted the car for parts, negotiated a fair price for us, and got a flatbed driver dispatched that same afternoon. The truck showed up exactly when he said it would, paid us cash on the spot, and took the car away, Sergio turned a day that felt hopeless into a huge relief. He didn't have to go this far above and beyond, but he did. If you're stuck with a damaged or totaled car and need it gone FAST, call Carstub, Sergio was great. Thank you again. 2020 Ford F250 lariet6.7 Powerstroke…read more Arriving at the service dep, the young service advisor asked what we were doing today, I answered a recall, mentioning I usually take the truck to GER Diesel for oil and more, "I haven't had a good experience the last few times at this service department" He quickly said, "Why don't you take it back to GER?" and laughed. I responded that I would, but I am required to bring it here for the recall. Already a lack of respect for customers, but this is very comment at this location. The truck has been parked in the back lot for over four hours now, " the truck has a factory GPS, something that was not mention to this service advice in his training, truck was setting for 4.8 hours with no progress. The recall involves updating the PCM. How do I know? Because it's common sense to look up how long the recall would take. I asked for a senior advisor that I won't mention the name, when I asked for him, this young advisor told me there is nothing he can do that I can't do, so I gave her an opportunity to get this done his way one thing led to the other end up driving by five hours later and I saw my truck parked on front. Nobody called me and told me the vehicle was done. I asked to speak with the manager and after a while, I found him and I relay my message and my bad experience at this service department Nobody wants to take time and write bad reviews but if I can help someone not go through this issues. I would consider this review successful. Called the service department many time but the misery continues when nobody answers the phone, very incompetent dealership. I don't recommend this place for any business.
