Don't Buy From This Dealer! I purchased a vehicle from this dealership, and just 15 days later, it wouldn't start. When I called for help, the service I received was appalling. The service representative repeatedly told me to "go to AutoZone to check if it was the battery" -- which made no sense since the car wouldn't even start. When you buy a car and it stops working after two weeks, something is clearly wrong. They claim every vehicle goes through a 125-point inspection, but that doesn't seem believable in my experience. I requested to return the vehicle, but they refused because it was past their 10-day return policy -- by just a few days. Now I'm stuck with a car that doesn't run properly, and they refuse to take responsibility or help in any meaningful way. Be warned: they seem warm and friendly when they're selling you the car, but that changes quickly once they have your money. read more

This is a great CarMax location, and is so much better than the Tampa location, I would be tempted to drive across state next time I have a need. I easily made an appointment to sell my car via telephone. In the days leading up to my appointment, I received a couple of text reminders, which were useful. It is located near the very end of the car park-so don't panic if you keep driving and driving. The showroom itself was very clean and bright, and they had many pandemic precautions in place like barriers, sanitizer, and chairs spaced apart. I had an appointment with Brian, and even though I showed up early, he was ready and waiting. He was fantastic to work with; friendly, organized, personable, and efficient. Instead of a technician going through my car, I went out to my car with Brian and opened doors and the hood so he could take pictures and send them in for my car to be assessed. My car sold at a better price than I expected, and a check was quickly cut. I highly recommend this CarMax location. read more

Very easy process to sell my truck. They quoted a reasonable offer online and honored it when it came time to do paperwork. My only complaint is when walking in -- there's a sales person who spouts off a script of "welcome to carmax, my name is _______, what's yours?" It's a lot to hear right off the bat. Otherwise, I highly recommend for selling a vehicle. They gave me about $5k more than the other dealerships were offering and about $2k more than Carvana. read more

Then last month we bought our suv and AGAIN Hassel free. We had a couple hiccups but none of Carmaxs fault. We recently purchased a Honda Civic from CarMax in Daytona. It took about a week as we weren't sure what we wanted, and buying a car can be a really unpleasant experience. We like the no haggle policy at CarMax and have seen this policy in other dealerships as well. However, we did not experience the level of customer service that CarMax offers anywhere else. On our first visit a young man (forgot his name) described the layout of the lot and allowed us to browse without any pressure. He was available but not glued to us. The next visit we were greeted and tended to by Marjory. As we narrowed down our selection Marjory was VERY patient with us. When we finally made the buying decision and started the buying process the entire activity was done within two hours. That's not bad for a car dealership (usually you are there for three or more hours). The selection of cars available was excellent. The service was excellent. The paperwork process was tedious but that's to be expected. Management had to get involved because Marjory ran into a weird snag during the contract process but the manager was supportive and patient as well. The only negative was the final part of the process where the actual paperwork was printed and reviewed. This was executed by Patty. Although Patty did her best to expedite the process it still felt like torture and took forever. I get it but there has to be a better way to get this done. Bought a car from the dealership on August 31st 2023 had to return the vehicle on September 1st 2023 less than 24 hours later due to mechanical issues. The dealership refused to give me the refund of my down payment via debit card which is how I paid them. They told me I would have to wait 7 to 10 business days to receive a check. It is now over 2 weeks later still haven't received the check and got nothing but the runaround from the dealership manager chris. Have now filed a complaint with the better Business bureau and the Florida Department of motor vehicles. Do not buy a vehicle from this dealership. read more

Great CarMax. Have bought here several times. Most recently, I bought a Hyundai Santa Fe and was given top dollar for my trade in. The only problem was Hyundai Finance failed to deliver the Title. So after 2 months I went back to the Dealership and they offered to either pay me back in full or provide a full credit in another vehicle. I took them up on the credit and ordered an out of town car. It came early and the sales process was easy. Everyone I encountered was friendly and professional. 7/4/20- down to 1 Star from 2 so we decided to take Interior apart bc after 1 year of driving this Van we found out the source of the smell, ROACH CRAP/MIERDA/POOP EVERYWHERE. Our 7/4 wasted cleaning every single part my fingers hurt. We could not believe how bad, disgusting this car was beneath these carpets and seats. Hundreds of dollars spent getting interior detailed, and ozone machines we ended up buying bc the smell would come back. I cried so bad today, I can't believe I signed for a $20K RoachPoopVan. I just came here today to read another lady who got a vehicle infested as well. Beware, CARMAX DAYTONA sells ROACH INFESTED VEHICLES. Super disappointed. After only 5 days of purchasing our van, it was one week at the shop bc some weird noise. When we got it back it was filled with roaches and smelly. i sold my car to Carmax in Daytona after purchasing it 5 years ago at a Carmax in Naples. Today is the second day having it still learning ALL the features and checking out my options too. It is about 30 minutes to a CARMAX location near me either in Jacksonville or Daytona. The manager at this location was the most kind, professional, knowledgeable person I have ever met in this industry. Helping all the team members ( they were busy later in the day) and I had no clue she was the manager at first. She basically made the sell fulfilling all the particulars I had discussed with her. Wow I cannot say enough about her, loading my stuff in my new car, explaining I had 3 days to finance with another leader if I preferred, to directing me back to I-95 north. Could it be any less of a hassle? Craig was out sales guy and the experience was just perfect. No pushy attitude tactics at all. Craig listened to our needs and assisted us with finding a car that matched what we were looking for WITHOUT trying to sell us into a more expensive car. Craig's knowledge of the cars we looked at was very helpful. Craig went above and beyond to answer each question with an honest answer and when he needed to consult another department to get an answer he did, rather than feeding a line of BS. The loan process was streamlined and easy to finalize. One word of caution, if you have good credit, make sure you shop rates and get the financing before you purchase. If not, you do have a very forgiving return policy and will allow you to return the car and use your own financing, which we elected to do. If you are not into high pressure sales tactics and arrogant sales people, then this place will surly suit your needs. I asked for the money but was told they would give me a service voucher. I told them I didn't want that and they said they would send me gas card. They never did. First off bait and switch is still alive at carmax. to say i hate this place and i will tell everybody for the rest of my life. so i took my 2006 ford f350 into them to trade it in. 108000 miles diesel engine i feel it was in really good shape i just needed something more in the lines of a family car. so we started the we buy your car process. so they look at the truck....... The salesman comes back to the desk and says wel we looked at your truck we found a list pretty much equal to war and peace wrong with it. You would think i brought it in peice by piece the found so much wrong with it. (sidenote- of course i used kbb before i took it in it stated 17000-19000). So the "salesman" says we use kbb for pricing and according to kbb your truck is worth 11000! Of course i stood up to walk away, he said you dont like that do you? i said "hell no" he said well thats kbb our buyer will give you 15,000 plus 800 for taxes etc etc. so i gave in and bought from them. bad decision. i have had my new vehicle for 3 weeks now and a week ago the oil change light is coming on. and as soon as i activated the sirius sat. the maps on my navigation stopped working. so now i have to wait 2 weeks to get that fixed great thanks carmax I HATE YOU! read more

This was my first experience with CarMax, and I was very pleased. I initially asked for transfer of a vehicle from Jacksonville, which arrived at no charge a few days later. When it turned out (after visual inspection and test drive) that it wasn't what I wanted, they never objected or even flinched at all, nor did they try to push another car on me. A week or so later, I asked them to transfer another car in (this time from Boynton Beach, at an up-front cost of $99), and this one turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. The offer they gave me on my trade-in (2007 Prius with 200K miles) was very fair. Completing the process was very simple. I provided my own financing, but the CarMax staff worked directly with them (AAA) to iron out the details. This is how car buying should be. Courteous, friendly, competent sales and office people, and absolutely no pressure at all. The Carmax facility itself is sparkling clean and a pleasant, technologically up to date environment. I would add that all of their cars come with a clean Carfax report (no history of accidents or damage) and are fairly priced. I will never visit a new car dealership again. read more

I have went to this Carmax twice. And both times I have had AWFUL customer service. When you try to test drive a manual transmission vehicle. Your sales person lacks the ability to drive it off the lot due to stalling the car 7 times in the parking lot. Leaves the parking brake down and gets out of the vehicle. Second time I went, I was told we could not test drive the vehicle we specifically came to look at, because it would "deteriorate the value". The next thing about of the salesman's mouth was "we can't test drive this car in bad weather". It was windy. There was no rain. The sun was out. ARE YOU KIDDING. this is completely unacceptable, we took our business elsewhere and got a better price on a 2019 manual transmission mustang down the road at the ford dealership, who let us test drive in the terribly "bad weather". Thank you Carmax for helping me get a better deal somewhere else. Carmax clearly hires those with the IQ of a kidney bean. Or just blatantly no respect for younger shoppers. Instead they have lost business TWICE from me, once on a Genesis that I bought elsewhere and I love, and now on a mustang that my husband loves. We both are in law enforcement and purchased in cash. Good job Carmax and your lack of proper training for common decency or whatever is wrong with your employees. I wish I could give this place zero stars. read more

I recently went here upon the recommendation of my neighbors. I've been thinking of trading in my 2.5 year old car for something a little bigger but I still owe money on the loan. I set up an appointment through their app (the app is very user friendly) and received a confirmation phone call and follow up email a few hours later. Upon arrival I was promptly greeted and my car started the appraisal process. In the meantime, my salesperson collected some general information from me as to what kind of vehicle I was looking for then we walked around the lot. I was shown a few cars that I had previously viewed on the app but felt kind of hurried through and was never offered to sit in any of the cars, much less a test drive. Back to the sales office to wait for my appraisal to be ready which took a reasonable 1/2 hour. My salesperson then went over the report on the condition of my vehicle (I'm the original owner and I'd already run a Carfax report on it) so no surprises there. I was then presented with the appraisal, $2200 less than I currently owe on the car. I was prepared for being a bit "upside down" but thought maybe as I was considering purchasing a vehicle from them that they might work with me. Sadly this was not the case. No options were presented as to what could be done so that I could get the vehicle I was interested in. Financing options were never even brought up. I know that the CarMax business model is no haggle and no pressure but I feel this takes away any incentive a salesperson might have to work with a potential buyer.
