I didn't know anything about pools and wasn't living in the house and so was relying on their services. But this company proved to be unreliable, unresponsive, and low quality in terms of service and manager team. There's too much to say so I'll try to summarize - 1) will almost never call you back. left 5-6 messages for the valet service, and only called back once over the 6 weeks or so. same for the general line, and no one ever called back from there. the only way i managed to get through to anyone was calling repeatedly. Maybe once Tristan (?) called back with more info like he said he was going to. Generally unresponsive. 2) valet team unable to recognize that pool is no longer clear and should probably be shocked. i told the teams over and over again that i am new to pools and need their help and tried to learn from them what i could. i tried to be there for every service, and i even tipped them at times bc they were always patient and tolerant of my questions. but in retrospect the pool was becoming cloudier and they did nothing about it and kept telling me it was good to go. 3) the valet team lead doesn't know what she is doing - i sent her a picture with algae on the walls (uploaded separately) the day after the team serviced the pool and she told me it was from heavy use or dirt blowing in. none of which makes sense as i explained to her that dirt doesn't accumulate on walls and we don't live in the house and use the pool much. she doesn't have enough knowledge to process that, or to know what algae looks like. 4) the pool turned green after this despite two visits within days of each other, and she said it was my fault, and that their only job is to keep a pool clear, which also they did not do. i scheduled a service call to address the green pool, and she decides to deliberately screw us over and fire us as clients the day before they are meant to arrive because i complained about the quality of their service and inability to know what algae on the walls looks like. 5) there's a host of other things that went on including low water levels and a possible leak (which their valet service failed to understand). their inability to actually figure out the leak despite sending out a team (fixed by a different company i found), shutting off my pump and not telling me, servicing the pool multiple times in a week and still having an algae problem immediately following their service day. - During this process I even emailed her saying, this would be a lot easier if we could just talk on the phone, and still no phone call. Turns out she is one of the owners of the company and even the valet teams were face palm-ing at how bad she is at her job. - they are so unorganized that even after she fired us as clients, the valet team still came out to service the pool on their usual day. - if you read some of their responses to poor reviews you can see how unprofessional they are. - the only consolation is that they refunded me for the "leak detection", which was a failure, using an air pump that kept a poor seal. I asked for the last several service visits to be refunded since they were clearly ineffective. that one service they refunded was just a small percentage of the time and money i wasted on this company. Since you can't argue with people who don't care that they don't know what they are doing, I left it at that. I would stay far away from this company. In the google review you can see the obvious lack of knowledge in the pictures.

I have never written a negative review of a company before. Unfortunately, Bob Whitaker of Aqua…read moreRenovations is incredibly unprofessional, dishonest, and unethical. I highly recommend you do not conduct business with this gentleman. As other reviewers have previously written, he is a one man "company" who runs the business out of his Doylestown home, has no real employees, hires lowest bid subcontractors to renovate your pool, has changed his company name numerous times, and according to several other pool renovation companies I have reached out to fix this mess maintains an extremely poor reputation in the industry. We paid him an initial deposit in June 2021. Months passed with nothing happening. Out of the blue, he then proceeded to demolish our family's pool last fall with two young men showing up unannounced at our home without the required township permits. The work was rushed, sloppy, and shoddy. Our automatic pool cover track was removed and bent in the process. The mortar was not properly and completely removed so more demolition and prep work will still need to be done to prepare the pool for its next phase of renovation. Gallons of saltwater were dumped onto our grass, plants, and trees. Our pool was left filled with debris. In addition, the sloppy demolition may have damaged the plumbing which will now need to be pressure tested. Bob Whitaker had no supplies when he demolished our pool. He failed to reserve and secure our necessary materials. He gave my husband the run-around via text messages for nine months. And has left our family with our four year old son pool-less for the upcoming summer season. He refuses to answer calls or return my husband's deposit. Even though, his incomplete and sloppy demolition has provided no savings or value now that we need to hire another contractor to renovate our pool. I hope my warning can prevent someone else from making the same mistake our family made retaining Aqua Renovations' services saving unnecessary stress, unpleasantness, inconvenience, frustration, and the wasting of hard earned money.

They said they would just do a quick drive by to look at our pool, but ended up finding the hole right away. We did contact a few other companies, some who even offered to patch it up. Ultimately, we went with a decision to have Schembri Pools get us a whole new liner. They were here so quick, practically the next day to take measurements. Our pool is very irregular shaped. It definitely took a while to take measurements. I believe we were told there were over 200 separate ones. While a lot of materials are back-ordered in general due to post-Covid shortages, the new liner actually came in quicker than anticipated (around 4 weeks). Again, they were here practically the next day to install. Installation was a breeze (for us!). They also were able to arrange two truck-fulls of water on the same day. We were using the pool a few days later after adjusting the salt and chemicals. I would say that everything about Schembri was top notch. From their communication to work ethic to even pricing. The pool is looking great and we went the whole summer without an incident. They also gave us a year guarantee which shows their commitment to customer service and confidence in their work. I would definitely recommend!
