"Refried" beans with cheese

Dios mios, man. I've never had worse "Mexican" food in my life. So bad that we drove to Taco Bell after to get our teenager a quesadilla because we said we'd bring him one. Service was good, she seemed embarrassed to have to serve it.

Pile in if you want to have to clean your shoes off when you leave because you'll be walking along the nastiest restaurant floor I've ever seen. I honestly don't think they own a broom. The salsa is also in old parmesan containers that were stripped from their labels and reused after every meal for the next table. The chip warming machine off to the side was glass and so foggy you could barely see the crumbs of chips you're about to be completartily served, which weren't the slightest bit warm either. Aside from the grimy appearance of the restaurant, the food was absolutely horrid, we ordered a couple of tacos and sat there for about an hour until they gained the courage to put the plates down in front of us which contained 2 corn tortilla taco shells, that were probably dollar store brand, overflowing with shredded cheese and definitely not an hours worth of heat to the meat, maybe even unsafe temperature to even serve ground beef at. Over all was not a good experience here and wouldn't recommend anyone to go here

Okay, cheap "Meh-xican" food for small town people who don't know the difference 30 miles could make!

Food wasn't good. No flavor. Salsa was not fresh. Some of the chips were stale. Save your money and go to Taco Bell.

The Pizzabirria is delicious. It is huge and so filling. It's served with several different…read moresauces in addition to the dipping sauce. they also include Cucumbers and Radishes. Queso is great but the Guacamole is to DIE for!

3.5-ish For starters, the name of this restaurant (according…read moreto its own sign) is Taqueria Carnales, not Carnales Taqueria (as listed on Yelp). Anyway, this is a place for people who enjoy highly flavored and spicy food. Seriously, ask them to go easy on the jalapenos if you aren't up for spicy. I ordered everything as is for my first visit for takeout and enjoyed it but it was on the edge of too spicy for me, (chicken grande burrito) without actually crossing the line.Very much crossed the line with the shrimp tacos, imo. I ordered the following: Menudo Soup (made from cow's stomach); Shrimp Tacos and a Chicken Burrito Grande. The estimated prep time was 15 minutes and the food was ready on time. It's a cute, small restaurant that is very clean. While you could choose to dine in, I didn't see anyone eating there and it appears that most of their business is carryout. Upon arriving home, I found that the Menudo Soup had spilled inside the plastic bag. Not too big a deal. The other entrees were packed in styrofoam containers. The burrito was wrapped in paper and foil. My mom had the Menudo Soup and said it was good. She had one of the three shrimp tacos and said it was okay but that she wouldn't crave them. The avocado slices looked very fresh. My mom loves spicy food but she commented that the soup and tacos were very spicy. As for my chicken burrito, it was unexpectedly spicy in a mostly good way. The burrito was stuffed with everything inside - guacamole, rice, chicken, refried beans (very little), cheese and jalapeno peppers. It was a delicious combo but I would have preferred the individual ingredients to be separate. The biggest problem, however, was that the foil wrap made it difficult to cut into the burrito without also cutting into the foil. I think it's more of a "me" issue that might not bother anyone else. Overall, I would order from this restaurant again. The quality is definitely way above Taco Bell, but it's not quite fast food even though it's next to a Subway. Also, I asked if their refried beans were made with lard and I was assured they were vegetarian. If I hadn't seen so many positive reviews on Yelp, I wouldn't have known to check out this spot, but would encourage you to try it too for high quality, authentic Mexican cuisine! EDIT/UPDATE: I tried one of the shrimp tacos that my mom left in the fridge. OMG, it was super spicy to the point of giving me hiccups. Plus, the spiciness seemed to come from a creamy cheese sauce added to the shrimp tacos after they were cooked. I can understand why my mom wouldn't crave them and I would never order them myself. Based on your personal preference for spiciness, let this give you an idea of the level of spiciness that could be added to your food unless you request your dish to be less spicy. Recommend with caveat re spiciness.

What we got that was correct, was good. Staff was friendly etc. From that experience we'd go back…read moreanytime. However, they gave us an item completely made wrong. Ordered grilled steak, no peppers, no onion. What I got was shredded chicken, with onion. LOTS of onion. My little girl can't eat onion at all. I couldn't just take them off, she still couldn't eat them. I wrote them on their website, even filled out their survey request. I got an email saying they refunded me for the incorrect item. Great. Had I not noticed, she'd have eaten onion, that she CAN'T eat. Not because she doesn't like them, she can't. When you're selling food, you should ALWAYS make sure it's correct. Food allergies can be deadly. While I appreciate the refund for the item, that's kind of expected. I didn't order that. She couldn't eat it. It should be refunded, not not for my inconvenience as the email suggested, it was an inconvenience but we got the wrong item, she couldn't eat. You'd think with the importance of the possibly of possibly death, from a food item it was made clear she couldn't eat, they'd be a little more apologetic. If you want good Mexican food, great place to eat, however just carefully check your order. If you get something that was completely wrong, with an item that could kill you if you ate it, but they still included on that completely wrong item. No worries, if you're in the hospital or dead because you may not have caught it, rest assured, they'll refund the price of that item for you or your grieving family for the "inconvenience". Sad part is we loved what we got, that was correct. I'd have ordered again already a couple days later. After this? Nope. No concern in the email about the health risk from eating the onion. Here's your refund for the price of your quesadilla that you didn't order, and could have killed your little girl. I'll never go back. EVER. Anyone who asks, I'll definitely tell them about my experience as well.

The service was great, we greeted right away and the server made sure we had what we needed. I loved the steak street taco so much, it was very flavorful and the prefect texture. I did like the chicken taco as much but it was still decent. The rice threw me off because I'm use Mexican being darker but it didn't have a decent flavor to it but like the steak. My guess I enjoyed their street fries n he added steak those were amazing. I enjoyed my margarita. The purple drink I can't remember the name but it was so bad, it tasted like medicine almost n it was $12 for that little drink no it's not worth it at all. But I will definitely come back n try them again. Overall great experience
