I had the carne guisada plate. I'm always rooting for small businesses, so I will say the meat was the tenderiest I have ever had, with the exception of cow tongue and filet mignon. I should have asked the waitress to ask the cook for their secret for making cuts of beef so tender! The refried beans and rice were nice and fresh. If you don't like spice or salt in your Mexican food, this is the place to go! The restroom was spic-n-span, the decor was bright and cheerful, and the dining room had had original ceilings. The air conditioner was set at a nice cool temperature, so this is a good place to get away from the heat. The waitress was attentive, and the prices reasonable. Enuff said. read more

I highly recommend! I am somewhat of a Mexican food snob, and this is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. I frequent this establishment at least once a month. The food is delicious and the service is great. I usually go on a weekday for lunch, but this last visit I went on a Friday for dinner. The service was not as good when it was the dinner rush, if this were my only visit I would give it a four star rating. Anyway try to go for lunch not on a Friday. As for the environment of the restaurant it was nice, everything was clean. All in all a great restaurant. read more

The service was so excellent, our server was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The sour cream sauce was runny and the enchiladas were just okay. Overall the food was bland and needed a lot of salt and salsa to amp it up. read more

I gave my coworker a gift certificate to this establishment because she loves their food. When she gave them the certificate, she was told it was fake and that they were going to call the cops on them completely embarrassing my coworker. Came here with my wife and son quite a few months ago and the food and wait staff was really good. We were coming through Plainview again tonight and decided to stop and eat here again due to our previous experience. In hindsight, this was a waste of nearly $30. We ordered the queso for an appetizer. It is basically melted velveeta cheese sauce. That's it....there is no flavor, no spice, nothing. It's terrible. Put some damn effort into it. The hot sauce tastes like Pace picante sauce. It has a different texture, so it may just be another brand....none the less...it tastes very canned. We ordered a 3-taco plate and the carne guisada. The tacos looked pretty good, but so much grease dripping from them. Also, with the taco plates, they don't come with beans and/or rice...you actually have to order is separately. Really?!? The carne guisada tastes good actually, but there was a lot of fat on the meat. I pulled out several pieces that we just fat only. Instead of the flour tortillas, I asked for corn tortillas. The carne guisada came out and the waitress had to hold the plate with a napkin and said it was extremely hot....however the food wasn't hot. How can that be? I'd rather have hot food. When she brought the corn tortillas, they were so floppy from all of the grease....it was just dripping from them..DON'T SERVE THIS CRAP TO CUSTOMERS. Needless to say....we won't be returning. You had a repeat customer and lost us tonight. We will go elsewhere from now on. read more

Bland bland bland! Spent over $50 there; the food was so plain without any spice. SKIP IT.. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME AND ESPECIALLY NOT YOUR MONEY!! Powdered cheese mixed with water is the queso..... Hamburger meat taste exactly like a hamburger....where is the authentic spice?? If you like refried beans, those actually taste good. Even I can add some El Paso seasoning to taco meat; they don't even have that much spice. Also refused coupons from www.restaurant.com where they are clearly listed and have been for at least 2 months. Upon checkout I tried to use the gift certificate coupon I purchased an hour before coming to this restaurant; heck that was the only reason we even tried it. Other than being very disappointed in the food and service, they said, "We don't know how our name got on Restaurants.com and we don't accept those coupons; we've had issue with them for a while." Shame on you, and shame on your waitress for stating that it was accepted before ordering. I informed her that if this was NOT a new issue, then why did they not have signs posted and WHY did your waitress give me the okay when I showed it to her??? She had no answer at all. Just defiant and terrible customer service. I paid my bill and left! Filing with BBB, but i doubt they are even a member. read more

Best fish tacos ever!! These are only served on Fridays during Lent. The absolute best!! Great hot sauce!!
