In 2009 at the age of 30 I was horrifically poisoned by the antibiotic Cipro, resulting in full-body tendon and joint pain and disability and a laundry list of other terrible physical problems affecting nearly every system in my body. Finding a doctor willing to admit these reactions are real and that has dealt with them before turned out to be a huge challenge. In my search for help I quickly learned that most docs are too ignorant, arrogant or brainwashed to admit that the very drugs they push can and do literally CRIPPLE people. Dr. Guggenheim is not one of those doctors. She is not brainwashed by the whole medical system and is able to think outside the box and learn new things, which appears to be difficult for most physicians (at least when it comes to what I'm experiencing). She is very aware of these adverse reactions and, although there is no known treatment at this time, she has tried her hardest to help me in any way she can and I appreciate her very much for that. She's not a drug pusher like a few of the docs I went to previous to finding her; She's quite knowledgeable about alternative therapies and nutritional supplements as well as western medicine. I am still very badly messed up thanks to the stupid doctor who nuked me with Cipro for a simple UTI, but I consider myself very lucky for not only finding Dr. Guggenheim but having her be right here in Lansing of all places. Many other victims of Cipro/Levaquin poisoning are never able to find a doctor near them who's willing to believe them which only adds to an already terrible situation. So again, I consider myself very fortunate. The last thing I just have to mention is that her office and the restored building it's located in are incredible. The entire place is so unique and nicely done, it really makes "going to the doctor" not such a bad experience!
In closing, THANK YOU DR. GUGGENHEIM and for anyone else reading this: DO NOT TAKE CIPRO, LEVAQUIN, AVELOX OR ANY OTHER QUINOLONE ANTIBIOTIC UNLESS YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE FIRST OR ARE ON YOUR DEATHBED!!! Doctors like to pass this stuff out like candy for every little cough and sniffle and they'll tell you it's safe. IT IS NOT SAFE! You can end up crippled and in a wheelchair for life, but you won't read that anywhere on the warning label! I have lost my entire life due to six days of Ciprofloxacin. For 14 months and counting I've laid in bed all day, every day in agonizing full-body pain wishing God would just kill me. Hell is a place on earth, and Cipro can take you there. Do yourself a favor and always research your medications online before you blindly believe what some doctor tells you and take them. Doctors don't always tell you the truth or the real risks, nor do pharmacists, and much of that is because the crooked DRUG COMPANIES hide many of the worst side effects from these people. Bayer Pharmaceuticals (the manufacturer of Cipro) is absolutely CRIMINAL and should be tried for murder as far as I'm concerned. And the FDA is not protecting you--the FDA is allowing more and more people to become crippled and killed by these "safe" drugs every single day. The only person looking out for your safety is YOU. I wish I wouldn't have had to learn this lesson the extremely hard way. My stupid decision to blindly trust my doctor, Bayer and the FDA literally cost me my life. Google Cipro/Levaquin and start reading...it won't take long before you start finding the REAL truths behind these nasty, nasty poisons. Askapatient is another great website to use before taking any newly prescribed medications.
