The best thing about her is that she's a complete straight-shooter, and she doesn't blow smoke up your uh, you know. Dr. Guggenheim truly cares about her patients, she takes her time with her patients and let's you know what is going on without mincing words. I have recommended Dr. Guggenheim to a number of friends, she's the BEST rheumatologist in Michigan as far as I'm concerned. If I could get her to move to Colorado (where I live now) I'd see her again in a heartbeat. Another reviewer called Dr. G "bossy" and I disagree, she's not bossy, she's direct and honest which I greatly appreciate. In the same sentence we were told to leave immediately or they would call the police. Very unprofessional of anyone in the medical profession and I would highly dissuade anyone from going there. I will be following up with a formal complaint to the state board of health tomorrow as well as a lawyer to see if my rights as a patient were violated. The front office staff are not attentive to the phones so you always had to call the nurse line for anything. Iris would even have the receptionist call patients to let them know she couldn't make appointments that afternoon so they would need to rebook or be seen by someone else because iris wanted to leave early that day. The receptionist made different excuses to the affected patients as she called them, all while other patients could hear everything in the waiting area. One gentleman just decided to walk out and reschedule for a separate day because of it, all while the other patients witnessed this. Dishonesty among health providers is one reason I could never recommend this practice to anyone, ever.

His knowledge base and willingness to get to the bottom of my situation was very reassuring and encouraging. In the beginning he explained things thoroughly and continues to do so every time I see him. His nurse is AMAZING and anytime I have a question, an issue, or need refills, labs, etc. she is always there to assist. They make a great team. Can not recommend Dr. Slavin enough. He has made my "mess" much more tolerable.

We had a moment of confusion concerning my gender, but the Medical Staff was only unfamiliar with my paperwork dilemma. ("Is this an Insurance form or a Medical Form?" is the sort of question a Non-Binary person has to ask when there is only a binary checkbox and it is almost never labeled with the correct terminology. Obvs, nobodies fault stuff like that happens all the time. :) The Medical Assistants were all quick, efficient and genuinely pleased to be of service! They got me in early for my appointment too. I won't say my Doctor's name, but they were openly and respectfully curious as to how they might be of service to a Transgender Person, when so often the past told a different story. :( My Doctor addressed my every concern and meeting with them was very pleasant. The fish tank next to the check-out desk has an _Actual_Literal_Sea_Urchin_! They are very black, except for their orange rude part, and about nine inches across. The Staff Person at the check-out desk was friendly and enthusiastic! They walked me through every step of the check-out process with a smile! The Medical Assistant thanked me for coming in today! I am totally 100% assured that they will follow up with me at every opportunity and that our relationship will continue to be successful and pleasant.

Wrong prescription was sent to pharmacy…read more Was on hold for a total of two and a half hours, to be told a nurse would call me back. She never did, went there the next day in person and spoke to a nurse practitioner (Beth)who changed the prescription. Her attitude was horrible, told me I was rude for asking to speak with someone in person. She said that my situation was not an urgency, and that it was rude to show up in person to ask for the correction to be made. Then she went on to claim that the reason behind their ineptness was lack of employees. Let me be frank, she is an awful person with a passive aggressive attitude who should not be allowed to speak with patients. Please avoid this place
