Dr Nguyen retired…read moreand, as far as I know, Dr. Marie Sagan-Yaweh is the only physician currently in that practice. I've not been at all satisfied with her. The people who answer the phone and the receptionists are great. You would be hard-pressed to find any better. But I've had mostly bad experience with Dr. Sagan-Yaweh and others on her staff. Apparently McLaren started a new computer system in July 2018 and that hadn't figured out how to use it as of February, 2019. My records were not up to date, and it caused unnecessary delays in getting me scheduled for PT and did not prescribe the right meds. When the person responsible for referral send me to a physical therapist, she said it was McLaren, but the phone number she gave me was for Sparrow PT. The phone number she gave for me to the therapist was a phone number that I dropped years ago. Then they messed up a prescription for my Fibromyalgia and they did a half-baked job trying to fix it and, bottom line, they didn't fix it, only because the person who coordinates prescriptions was apparently too lazy to call the pharmacy of my prescription insurance company. The doctor is curt, seems confused with her computerized records system and won't prescribe meds that Dr Nguyen had no problem with. If you want good primary health care, I recommend you don't go to McLaren McLaren Greater Family on Pennsylvania Ave. in Lansing.

I feel bad giving one star to a medical institution, but I cannot praise this place whatsoever. My…read moregirlfriend started going here when we moved to Lansing as it was one of the only places that would accept her insurance (A free service for low income patients). They were reasonable with cheap co-pays and such and it seemed like a fine place at the time. Things have been going downhill quickly though. Since her insurance changed, it seems like 3 out of 4 visits, she's not even seen by her regular doctor but an intern/doctor in training. This would be fine if we weren't still expected to have a co-pay or knew about it at least in advance. Her appointments will be with one Barry Saltman and when she gets there, she's greeted by a new doctor who knows nothing from the notes made on her previous file, asking her to fill out forms asking what she's been asked before and questions about a diagnoses Dr. Saltman already performed. I'll get text messages from her as she's been put on hold by the learning doctor saying she's almost in tears from how frustrating it is to have someone unfamiliar with her situation every time she comes back here. Another thing is that on her last visit where they also gave this intern doctor, she asked repeatedly if she could talk to Dr. Saltman and was told he wasn't in today several times. Then they gave her a new prescription and on the pad, his name was circled and his signature was on it. So either this doctor is handing out blank check prescription pads which seems highly suspect and possibly illegal, somebody is forging his signature which is INCREDIBLY illegal, or he actually was there and having the interns lie for him which is just rude. They also sent us a bill for some tests they ran that we never asked for. The doctor just decided one day "I wanna run these blood tests on you today" without any warning. Then we tried to pay it through the mail by giving them our card information on a bill statement (It was an option on the bill). It's been over a month (Close to two months actually) and they haven't taken the payment out yet. It's making me really paranoid and I'm close to having her debit card cancelled and just paying it over the phone if it's even an option. When we call the office, they tell us they don't handle that stuff but they can call the billing department and have THEM ring US back. Then they asked for her contact info which is already on file. Nobody at this location seems to have any idea on how to process anything and it has become incredibly frustrating every time we go back, and I'm pushing my girlfriend to find another provider covered by her insurance. Another grievance with this place - my girlfriend in her time going here on repeat visits one time had shown up on time for an appointment. ON TIME. The doctor was very late seeing her - about twenty minutes. When she asked the clerk what was going on, she was scolded and the clerk accused her of being late to the appointment. She explained she wasn't and she had her card the clinic gave indicating what time her appointment was at. The clerk continued scolding, saying that she is expected on all visits to be fifteen minutes early to the scheduled time and that since she was not fifteen minutes early, the appointment was bumped for someone else to go before her. What clinic does that? If you want someone to be early, schedule them early. For the record she was never told this and it was never established to her as a "rule." Now we have to work on THEIR time and anytime they give her an appointment write it down on our calenders as fifteen before. It's kind of ridiculous that they can't just say what they mean and blame the patients when they're not clear on what they ask of them. On top of this, they're always messing up her prescriptions, either by not indicating the new dosage that she's supposed to get or not sending it into the pharmacy when they say they will, and it usually requires scheduling another appointment with them. If you have to go here, I'm sorry. If you can avoid it, please do. We've had better care from anonymous doctors at an urgent care clinic than we have with the repeated visits to Care Free.
