Great experience for my daughter. She broke her arm and wrist snowboarding and went to the ER. The first doctor we went to said she needed surgery. Dr. Weinert took one look at her xray and said no way and asked her what color she wants for her cast. My daughter was so happy she didn't need surgery. He really knows his stuff when it comes to kids fractures. So glad the first doctor referred us to him. We live out of the area but we're willing to make the drive. read more

Dr Weinert was fantastic. We were referred by a colleague of his. He listened to everything we had done and been through. After examining my son he then gave us a diagnosis. If I could give a negative star review, I would. Dr. Carl wouldn't take my child's knee pain seriously enough to do any sort of scan. Just kept taking our co-pay and sending us home to 'rest'. We came in for multiple appointments and all he could say was that she needed to rest and it was just inflammation. "She's growing." "An MRI is useless. She doesn't need it." Well guess what. After over a year of my child being in pain and struggling with her PE classes and basketball- not being able to enjoy her young preteen life- we find out from another doctor who did take the time to do an MRI that she has an ACL tear as well as tears in both her meniscus ALL on the same knee. I am BEYOND upset. The most negligent doctor I have ever dealt with. Whatever you do, don't take your child here. How negligent. How disgraceful. How terrible of a supposed medical professional to take a claim of pain so lightly. If he had done 1 single MRI 2 years ago my daughter might have saved herself 2 years of pain and only had 1 single tear that would have been easier to fix and easier to heal from. I know that's it's commonplace for mothers to take their kids to the doctor. But I am an involved father and when both my wife and I took our daughter to see this Doctor for an evaluation. Well, I found it incredibly rude that this man exclusively spoke to my wife, acted as if I wasn't even in the room, and wouldn't make eye contact with me. Did he evaluate my daughter? Yes But what kind of Doctor disregards one of the parents in the room and treats you that way. Have never had this issue elsewhere. Just weird. read more

Urgent care diagnosed my child with a bowing of her midshaft radius (ie common type of fracture when she fell). They cast her up in a temporary cast and told us to go to an orthopedist. Our pediatrician recomment Dr. Weinert. Dr. Weinert disagreed with the diagnosis and took the time to get a skeleton arm to explain the anatomy and took the time to explain why he disagreed. I was ready for a cast or brace, but walked away with a happy child, and comfort knowing why he was confident we didn't need any brace/cast. read more

BE CAREFUL! They charged me $136 for my daughter to be seen for five minutes. We have a great PPO insurance that is covered for Dr. Weinert. Since I gave them my insurance info ahead of time, I assumed they actually tried to process/check it it before my appointment (like most offices do), when I went to check out she told me I owed them $136. I asked even with my insurance? and she said yes. So I assumed they knew what they were talking about and paid the $136. Turns out, they not only charged me $136. They billed my insurance for $215 and my insurance told me I should have only been charged $15 for copay as he is within my network. I have been calling for the last week trying to get them to refund me $121 and they keep giving me different excuses. The latest is that the $136 was going towards my deductible...I had to explain to their billing department that that is not how it works and this all sounds so shady. I definitely will not be coming back nor will I be recommending. Be careful and check to make sure they arent trying to double charge you. I will update this review and let you all know if I ever see my money back. read more

Dr Weinert treated my sons broken forearm. We were referred to him by the ER staff at Anaheim Regional Medical Center. The first cast broke. Never in my life had I seen that before. The second was taken off too soon. I'm no dr but I questioned the X-ray as I felt it was too soon to be removed. I was given some explanation and reluctantly, trusted what I was told. My son was then given a brace that did not support the area of the break. Later, I learned that brace was for a wrist injury. About 2-3 weeks went by. My son was casually lifting himself off of the floor and his arm snapped. Broken again, resulting in surgery which included titanium plates and bone grafts. He has an EXCELLENT dr now and is recovering well, but this could've been prevented had he been treated properly to begin with. So $4000 later......Here we are. Please consider a second opinion, always. read more

I take both my sons to Dr. Weinert due to excess bone growths. My 6 year old son had to have part of his bone removed on his arm this past November. Asked my son after surgery what was the scariest part and he said, "nothing!" Dr. Weinert is very gentle with young children. The stitches are healing nicely. read more

Dr. Weinert treated my newborn baby's clubfeet. He did not fully correct them AND his casts weren't put on correctly and therefore causes the casts would slip out of place. We had to spend A LOT of TIME and MONEY to fix the problems that Weinerts casting caused. Every time we tried to ask questions his answers were vague and unclear. He needs to retire. Never got a sorry or a call from his office when I stopped showing up for appointments and he still charged me for coming in to fix HIS casts that HE messed up. Please people spread the word that this doctor should not be trying to correct clubfeet babies! read more

One of the worst customer service experiences at a doctor's office I have ever received and most importantly, I do not trust his assessment of my daughter. It took him 1 hour and 20 minutes to even see my daughter for her appointment. Then when he finally came in (no apology or explanation), he spent less then 2 minutes in the room assessing her. Before leaving the room he said that if I had any further concerns I could read about it myself and gave me a half sheet of paper with a few sentences on it. He was very short with us and had a horrible bedside manner. read more

We saw another doctor in the pediatric practice (Rosenfeld) and were EXTREMELY disappointed by his arrogant and unhelpful manner. He didn't want to listen to a word we had to say concerning our son's issues. His word was law. Our son was getting ingrown toenails very frequently causing him tremendous pain. He is special needs and nonverbal. Dr. Rosenfeld said he wouldn't remove the nail bed because our son might not like the aesthetic results of that procedure.... Moving on...we switched to doctor Weinert and have been much more impressed, he will at least listen to your concerns. He is still conservative but for better reasons. Overall we feel he genuinely cares about our son and his progress. The office is clean and efficient, we never have to wait long. read more

I took my toddler to see Dr. Weinert. The staff is friendly. This office is next to CHOC, and they have an in house xray, which is convenient. The xray tech was great calming my 2 year old and getting him to lie still. Dr. Weinert is knowledgeable. They also have a satellite office in Irvine. read more

Was referred here for my son's ankle injury. Time spent in the exam room was minimal. Weinert commented that growth plates indicated that son was finished growing (son has since grown nearly an inch taller). Told us to freeze a bag of popcorn and put it on the ankle. My son's ankle is now worse, and we have chosen to seek out the services of a different physician. read more

He treated my son for bilateral club feet since my son was about a week old and now going on 2 and continues to follow up every couple months. He's very patient and has a pleasant attitude. Out of the two offices we've been to the Irvine location is by far the best. The girl at the front desk is super nice and very professional and so is the tall lady with short hair who assists the doctor. Good job ladies! read more

Dr. Weinert has been my son's doctor since he was less than a year old. My son is 16 now. My son was born with Osteogensis Imperfecta (brittle bones); although I wasn't aware of it until he became more moblie and started fracturing. Our entire family went through hell at the hands of unqualified medical care providers at Kaiser Hospital, and unsympathetic law and court workers in the Orange County, California court system. That's a whole other story. We met Dr. Weinert quite by accident when my son was still quite young. He had a fall at daycare where he sustained a pretty serious fracture, and we brought him into CHOC Hospital, Orange County. Dr. Weinert was at the hospital at the time and treated my son. He provided us with some information on follow up care. That was a Friday night. Saturday morning, around 9:00 a.m., I received a phone call from Dr. Weinert himself calling me from his home to check on my son and our family. The call lasted almost 20 minutes. When does this ever happen? I've never had a doctor personally call me to check on the family as a whole - ever. My son will see Dr. Weinert for as long as he continues to practice. read more

Dr. Weinert is just awesome.. i went in to see him with my newborn who was just 2 days old and needed treatment for clubfoot. Dr. Weinert took his time to explain the problem and the procedure to us. The staff is very nice and friendly as well. I took my son to Dr. Winert in 2009 because he was born with an extra digit on his right hand. After going through an emotional roller coaster at LA Children's hospital, I need a second opinion. I also needed someone that wasn't going to treat my son like a number as they did at LA Children's can you say NO bed side manner. I was a first time mom and well after my first experience, I no longer wanted to go through his surgery. But my friend recommended Dr. Winert to me, I made my apt and WOW what a difference. The staff was very friendly, he right away ordered xrays (LA didn't even do that and they right away diagnosed him) well the Xray tech was right there is Dr. Winert's office. Dr. Winert listened to my concerns, my fears and he put me at ease. He walked me through the procedure and I was greatful that he didn't show my pictures of what my son would be going through like at LA Children's. Seeing pictures of a little hand being pinned down literally isn't the image you want at all. The day of my son's surgery everything went as planned his surgery was a little longer but he made sure to send a nurse out to let me know. The follow up and the removal of my son's cast went perfect. I highly recommend Dr. Winert and staff, I am very greatful for them and what they had to offer. read more

Dr. Weinert is brilliant (even looks like Einstein). Treated my 13-yr-old son's broken shoulder WITHOUT SURGERY!!!! Complete Proximal Humeral Fracture at Growth Plate ("ice cream cone" break via superman dive-tackle, football) Newport Beach Urgent Care Dr. said straight to ER for surgery! Luckily Urgent Care Dr. emailed xray to OC Adult & Pediatric Orthopedic Specialists. Dr. Weinert reviewed xray & change of plan! Sent home in sling w/pain meds. Sleep sitting upright (difficult), see Weinert in AM. Long night..... TREATMENT: Next AM, Dr. Weinert applied a "gravity" cast to my son's forearm (gently pulls downward on shoulder). Had to remain upright & sleep upright in a recliner for a couple weeks (bit difficult initially but got easier). So worth it! No surgery. 100% recovery & full range of motion. Simply amazing. Cleared for sports in about 4 months. Gravity cast for this injury is common worldwide, but not in U.S. Face it, surgery is more exciting and PAYS WAY MORE $$$. No wonder U.S. surgeons lack experience in highly effective non-surgical techniques. read more

All I can say is that Dr. Weinert is a great Doctor! He met my son last year 2013, 1 month after he was born due to being born polydactly. We agreed to do surgery when he turned 1 year old since he was just a newborn, it was not recommended for him to be put under anestesia. Dr. Weinert explained everything and gave us really good advice. Made my husband and I feel more at ease, and was able to answer all our questions and concerns. Surgery was done April 2014 after my son turned 1 year old. All went well, and we are very happy with the surgery and his expertise. Highly recommend Dr. Weinert!!! Dr. Weinert did surgery on my oldest son's pinkie. I highly recommend him. It's a rarity to find both the doctor and staff pleasant, professional and helpful. Adaliz worked with our schedule to get our son into surgery as our high school son's schedule has little time during certain sports seasons. Thankfully, there was an opening at the facility we wanted and the doctor's schedule was also open at that time. Dr. Weinert was quick to give us updates and results after the surgery, by appointment and by phone. The rest of the staff was helpful as well. My son broke both his Ulna and Radius in his right arm. Nurse at school and urgent care pa both thought he would need surgery. Dr. Weinert put a cast on him and watched closely to see if it would heal without surgery. After about 2months his arm healed and he is doing great. Loved the office and doctor. Now bringing him back for scoliosis evaluation. Hopefully we have as good of luck as last time. read more
