After being placed on hold for quite awhile, they found my referral and said that I needed to be assigned to a provider and will be called back in 24 hours to schedule appointment. No call back, so I called to follow up today 9/11 and was told they couldn't find my referral again. Gave my info then the receptionist rudely asked if I had seen pain management before, which I replied, yes for my back. She said I need to submit my records for any pain management because the doctor needs to review and approve me before I can get an appointment. I said they need this even though it's for another part of my body? She said it doesn't matter, they need to see everything. At this point, I was so frustrated because she never confirmed she found my approval and added a new hoop to jump through to see if I will even be "approved" to get an appointment for a consultation. This is absolutely ridiculous and I just said thank you and hung up. Good luck getting past the front office to even get a consultation!

Tristian and Dr. Lee are like a superhero duo and I feel they know me more than any other doctor I have ever had. I have never written a negative yelp review. But I felt I had to share this…read more This doctor has severe anger issues. He's rude, impatient and overall very unpleasant. I went in hoping to find a good injection doc for chronic back and neck pain and left in tears after 4 visits. During the last visit, he burst into the exam room and said " so you didn't finish your meds, huh?" I told him I had to stop steroids on day 5 because I had a bad reaction. I continued to ask him questions and explain how my pain had predictably come back. He then spent the rest of the visit yelling at me and interrupting every sentence. I barely got to finish any sentence I began. He said he had already explained that I didn't have pinched nerves ( which conflicted with my MRI report) I broke down in tears, but that didn't stop the yelling. He just started talking directly to my husband. My husband was shocked at his behavior. He did give me injection options and sent us home with literature - but honestly I never want to be in the same room as this man again My husband and I have no clue what I did to set him off. All I can say is - If you're in pain and feeling vulnerable - stay away!

After 7 years, I can honestly say Dr. Nini is still Dr. Nini -- one of the best pain management…read moredoctors out there. What surprised me even more this time was how much better the office experience has become. His front staff and back staff are easily 200% better than my first visit years ago. Everyone was professional, friendly, organized, and actually cared about helping patients. Last month, I went to another pain management doctor because Yelp made it seem like Dr. Nini's office was only in Fullerton and not Los Angeles. That doctor refused to even try trigger point injections and immediately pushed me toward an epidural. I didn't really want one, but I was desperate for relief at the time, so I went through with it. The very first thing Dr. Nini said when he examined me was that he wanted to try trigger point injections first before considering any epidural treatment. That instantly told me he was actually listening to my concerns instead of rushing me into procedures. I received the trigger point injections today and already feel hopeful again. Awesome pain management doctor, excellent staff, and still someone who genuinely tries to help his patients instead of taking the "one size fits all" approach. Highly recommended. Next week, he referred me to get nerve conduction studies to rule out a pinched nerve. Hands down BEST PM Doctor in LA!!!

I came to LPI dealing with chronic plantar fasciitis in my left foot, left ankle pain and…read morestiffness, and eventually left knee pain. I had already tried other physical therapy offices and wasn't getting any meaningful relief. Working with Gary was completely different. Nothing ever felt rushed, and within the first 30 minutes of my initial visit, I could already feel an improvement. What stood out most was how tailored the treatment was to me. It wasn't the same standard PT routine you see everywhere or exercises you could easily find on YouTube. After every session, I felt better and continued to make progress. I'm not completely pain-free yet, but I'm about 75% better than when I started. More importantly, I feel confident that continuing with the program Gary developed for me will keep me moving in the right direction and eventually get me back to running and being more active and pain-free with my kids. I would absolutely recommend Gary and LPI to anyone who has tried traditional physical therapy without getting the results they were hoping for.

I've tried various PTs through my insurance, but this is the first time I invested in PT out of…read morepocket, and it was absolutely worth it. I felt like my body was twisted and unbalanced, but the PTs covered by my insurance weren't able to help me until the issue I had been expressing eventually led to a severe injury where I couldn't walk for about five days. The PTs would give me exercises that I could have easily found through ChatGPT or a simple Google search, and then send me to an aide. When I had questions, the aides often didn't know the answers. They gave me A LOT of at home exercises, almost a quantity over quality, hoping one works. Then I found Dr. Gary! He is very different from a typical PT. He listens carefully to all of my issues (pain and discomfort seemingly everywhere. I'm sure I sound like a hypochondriac ), and then gives me some really odd exercises that I would never have found on my own. Somehow, I always feel better afterward. He goes all the way down to the basics, even teaching me how to breathe to properly engage my core, when to breathe during an exercise, and exactly where I should be feeling each movement. It's not just "here are some exercises, go do them." He makes sure I understand why I'm doing them and what I should be feeling. He also consistently remembers to send me my homework, often with videos. With the other PTs I tried, I had to repeatedly hunt them down to get my exercises, so I ended up having to rely on memory. Dr. Gary also responds to my questions between sessions if I'm unsure about an exercise, which has been incredibly helpful in making sure I'm doing things correctly. What I appreciate most is how much he genuinely cares about learning and thinking critically. I can tell he is constantly processing what he's seeing and what I'm telling him during our sessions and trying to figure out the root cause of what's going on. He tests and retests his hypotheses until my body gives him feedback that he's on the right track. I'm incredibly thankful for Dr. Gary and the care he puts into his work. If you're dealing with something that feels "off" in your body, I truly believe your health is worth the investment. Don't wait until the problem becomes a serious injury like I did because of the limitations of the insurance system. Take the chance! you may be surprised by how much the right PT can help. Dr. Gary is absolutely worth it!

I had been in the market for medical insurance through Covered CA but the cheapest one I could…read morefind, that also allowed me to go to the doctors I had been going to for years, was a bit expensive. I decided to look into other options and did a search for places I could pay out of pocket. When I lived in Mexico, I had been using the services at a local hospital, paying a monthly membership fee for their services so imagine my surprise when I found out that the exact same system existed here. That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.
