A catfish tail with no meat.

There was silver hair in my mac n cheese. Additionally, I ordered the catfish lunch and received one full piece and the other piece was a burnt tail with hardly any meat and the cabbage was so undercooked it should've just been salad. When I called back to express my concerns, the cashier told me I needed to specify what portions of fish I wanted, when I stated that it should've been explained by the establishment and not left up to the customer to guess what portions were available, she hung up the phone. Furthermore the rice was mushy and the atmosphere had a rank order and was unclean. Do not patronize this business. IDPH needs to do an inspection.

Ummmm just ain't like it use to be. Prices have increased and quality has diminished. Ordered for wings and each was over cooked with too much salt on the seasoning rice and peas were dry and hard. STEP IT UP FOR THE COMMUNITY !!!! I will say that the staff is very courteous especially the women at the register always smiling.

    Oxtail dinner with Steamed Cabbage

I went to the GP Caribbean Jerk Palace in country club hills. I hope they are connect. Mannn... This is my favorite spot. I already went twice and planning to visit soon to try they jerk chicken salad. Customer service is nice. They were really helpful when I came in for my first visit. My second visit some lady had an issue with her food and The manager(?)Was really working with her with fixing the issue. They can be crowded. When I went the second time, I thought i was going to have to wait for awhile but I had my food within 30mins (wasn't a big deal). I love jerk chicken and order both times on separate occasions but switched up the sides. I ordered dark meat with cabbage and also dark meat with Mac and cheese. The Mac and Cheese is DELICIOUS!! Yes it's cheesy!! They know exactly what they doing with the Mac and cheese. The jerk chicken is great too but I love the jerk sauce it's very spicy like it suppose to be! Cabbage is good too! The jerk chicken dinner comes with beans and rice, plantains, bread, and you choose another side. My mom had the oxtails she enjoyed her meal but said it was salty. I recommend others to try it. I plan to go back for their jerk chicken salad. Service is good and food even better. If you don't want to wait .. I believe you can call in. On this yelp page it's says it's located on halsted.. but I couldn't find the page for the country club hills location. If you want to try it out it's in the county club hills plaza 4253 167th St Country Club Hills

I like to try different places when I come to the south side and this place was recommended. The wait time is reasonable but the cashiers are young and unprofessional in my opinion. Moreover the plantains were really dry like they were old/dated and this made me question the expiration or the rest of the food . The other items were good but you can never be to sure.

So I ordered through Yelp easy peasy...order received order in the works dadadda next your orders ready...that's when it gets bad PULLED UP WENT IN ORDER WAS NOT READY!!! SAT IN THE LOBBY FOR AN HOUR AND ON TOP OF THAT IT WAS THE WRONG ORDER!!!! Went back and forth with them about order# order name order this and that and they still got it wrong!! I ordered dark jerk chicken, peas and rice w/plantains. Customer service was HORRIBLE!! Horrible!! Everybody in there had bad attitudes!! I will NOT be going back EVER. I'll spend my coins else where...Jamaican Gates @10226 S. Halsted has better customer service and better food in my opinion I was just trying to go where my husband suggested. NEVER AGAIN!!! A whole hour wasted.

Long wait time, rice and beans are a hit & miss. Food consistency is inconsistent as well. Some days it's good other days not so good.

I grabbed the 2 meat, 3 side special which included: stewed chicken, jerk chicken, rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. There's a solid amount of food and I'm going to be eating on this over the next two days. There's rice and peas were incredibly flavorful, moist and had a hint of spice. The stewed chicken's skin was falling off! That's how tender it was and I love anything with bell peppers and onions. The cabbage was solid with great crunch. Sometimes it can get too mushy, but this didn't. The plantains were just right!! Great palate cleanser as I transitioned to the jerk chicken! And the jerk chicken was a hit!!! Good amount of spice and flavor! And juicy! I also had extra jerk sauce on the side. Hmmmm I honestly enjoyed both chickens and would say if you're unsure of which to get, just get both... you'll definitely order from here again lol I ordered through uber eats and naturally was PRAYING that my order was correct and it was. A nice hefty serving and of course I also have a slice of the caramel cake. Mannn this slice of cake is so dang delicious. The two miles that I run tomorrow for this will be so worth it! This hit the spot and was the meal I needed after the day that I've had!

I had never been to the brick-and-mortar location until now. I stopped in one Sunday afternoon to a restaurant that was not busy on the inside. I noticed there was a steady stream of individuals coming in for carryout. Nevertheless, I had a sit-down so that I could try a few items. I ordered the Belizean appetizer sampler. This came as panades, garnaches, and conch fritters. I liked the panades, which were corn patties stuffed with buffalo fish. They were nice and flavorful. The garnaches reminded me of Venezuelan tostadas. I think that what was a miss for this dish was the drizzle of ketchup. Since I stopped using condiments from grocery stores, the flavor of such tends to ruin dishes for me. I liked the conch fritters. I would order those by the bagful just to have for snacks. My main dish was the stew chicken with rice and beans and a side of plantains. Surprisingly, this was more like baked chicken. There was no hint of cumin, cloves, or garlic. There were no tomatoes. There wasn't a sauce or a gravy. There was flavor, of which I give them that, but the same stew that I've had in Belize and in my Belizean friends' home was not served here. It very well may be that the dish prepared here simply differs from that which I have had before. It wasn't a bad thing. Not everyone prepares every dish the same way.

Jerky Jerk is THE SPOT!…read more We wanted something better than stadium food before the Bulls game. And the three of us love Jamaican food, specifically, jerk chicken and curry goat. So as soon as Jerky Jerk showed up on my Yelp search, I knew my search had ended, and that we found our pre-game dinner spot. Jerky Jerk blew my expectations out of the water. I'm a Chicago native, but I live in LA, where I'm lucky to be surrounded by many delicious Jamaican food spots. But Jerky Jerk has the best jerk chicken I've ever had. When I say that the smoky, slightly sweet, tender, fall-of-the-bone experience hit the spot, I mean that it HIT THE SPOT! Even the rice & peas and cabbage were cooked and spiced to perfection. All three of us devoured our plates in about ten minutes. I also love the colorful and lively Chicago sports murals that fill each wall, as well as the hospitable and vibrant service from the owners. They absolutely rock. They throw a party inside, and they make you feel welcomed and right at home. Jerky Jerk is now a non-negotiable stop when visiting Chicago. This place slaps.

From the start, the bartender's attitude seemed off, but what stood out most was the difference in how I was treated compared to the rest of my group. He was friendly, attentive, and even offered complimentary drinks and shots to my friends, while I was largely ignored. Things escalated when the check came. After I paid, my receipt was held up in a way that drew attention to the fact that I hadn't left a tip on the card. And, then he mocked me and said, "I'm sorry my service was that bad to the point, I didn't get a tip." Shortly after, my friends continued receiving drinks on the house--again excluding me out. This created an awkward and embarrassing situation, especially since I was sitting right there with them. For clarity, I tip in cash as a personal preference, but regardless, no one should be singled out or treated differently like that. He laughed, and kept showing my receipt. I'm sharing this in hopes that it's taken seriously, because professionalism and consistency in service matter.
