Variety was great & everything was delicious! No complaints from my event guests. Most of all, the on-site catering attendants handled everything exceptionally well! Eudy, Mohamed, and Gianella were phenomenal!! They went above and beyond. I had a few last-minute needs & they stepped up (helping with my swag/sign-in table set-up, providing an extra linen, & working around our onsite craft-making exhibit). Two of three that were on the grill along with the Manger on duty had not issue checking to see if their Veggie Burger was Vegan friendly, it was not. However & in the interim of checking the ingredients, one of the Griller's offered to cook the Veggie Burger on aluminum foil & away from the meat products...that did me righteous. Other employees taking orders were just as friendly in trying to accommodate customers & their children selections. As far as prices serving an outside venue/event the menu (Tempo Grill) are pretty reasonable, glass of wine for $7, a bag of chips or cookies for $2, Veggie Burgers $11 & Personal Pizza $10. There is eco-friendly self serving station providing plenty of condiments, napkins & utensils. Again, my review is based solely upon the good customer service & accommodations I received during Strathmore's Summer Concert Series & not for catering services. I was really excited I had some of his family travel all the way up from North Carolina. I was really disappointed at myself. Being a cook and always ask to prepare food for family events, I wished I had cooked for this one. However, I wanted to lay back and relax and enjoy myself. The food was horrible. My menu was to be Fried chicken wingetts (party wings), Fried Shrimp, BBQ Meatballs, Crab dip, and Pasta Salad, and some dessert. The supposed to be fried wingetts looked like package Murrays chicken (per one of my guest), my best friend took one bite and it was raw in the middle. Well you bet could not serve them. The shrimp which was supposed to be fried was white in color like raw flower and was imitation shrimp. (Yes they do make imitation shrimp. Mind you I paid and extra $21.00 for sauce from Red Lobster to add to my shrimp because my husband like the Sweet Chili shrimp and when I requested it the Cater told me they could not do it. Have you ever seen meatball with sauce but the sauce does not coat the meatballs? It look like meatballs just swimming in a pool of sauce. The crab dip smelled like bad seafood, and you could not find the crab meat. I have seen been crab dip in a grocery store. I should have known that $498.00 for all if this something was wrong. But I went out on a limb. The reviews were great; customer service was great so I just knew I found a winner. This was not the case. When I tell you I brought the entire dishes of food home, I did. I was so embarrassed my guest had to order carry out. You know it bad when you have an Open Bar and people are drunk and days later can remember how bad the food was. What makes matter worse I called and tried to come to an agreement with the Cater and they had the nerve to offer me only $100 and 10% discount towards another event. What an insult! If anything my next event should be on the house, I have nothing to prove, I am not the one who prepared raw chicken and bad smelling crab dip to name a few. And besides who would want to take the chance again. However I have tried and tried to meet in the middle but they want answer my phone calls, nor respond back via email. When they were trying to gain my business they were all was prompt. The icing on the cake is when I did some research. I talk with the PG County Licensing division. The Best of Both worlds are not License in Maryland, nor DC or Virginia so they lied to me. Maryland does not license home business and yes they Cater out of their home check there address, it is an apartment building complex. They use a PO Box to collect funds. Just ask can you come pass their place of business or set up a tasting you will see. DO the research. I have had to take this to small claims court just to try and get my money back all because they were not willing to meet me half way. NO, customers are not always right but in this case when people cannot eat the food that you pay for something should be done. I have PICTURES of everything I spoke about and copies of emails and the invoice. No I am not a disgruntle customer. I am honest and have integrity, but when you take my hard earn money and don't provide quality service. I have to do what must be done. It's truly difficult to express how amazing Danny and his staff made our wedding event. As we were working to find a chef for our small wedding reception/garden party, Danny stuck out simply because we liked the pictures of his food, but after we met with him, we knew he was the perfect chef for us. He made us feel comfortable from the start (LGBTQIA+ friendly) and understood our tastes and interests from just a 30 minute intro call. We signed our contract with him several months out from the event, but he always kept in touch to make sure our heads were still in the same place in how we wanted to celebrate our wedding. Moving to the actual event, we hosted ~22 people for a cocktail style garden party. Danny came up with an amazing menu including: - Cheese plate (very high quality cheeses; these leftovers made for spectacular girl dinners) - The popcorn project (very cute apps with a special, Danny-made seasoning I can't stop thinking about) - Guacamole three ways (fabulous) - Black bean mango salsa (so refreshing for an outdoor party) - Pimento cheese dip (if you only have one stationary plate option, you should definitely get this) - Black bean hummus (added to our menu last minute and it did not disappoint) - Gazpacho shots (refreshing and elevated) - Shrimp lollipops (perfect way to start the event) - Scallop ceviche (my wife's favorite dish) - Brisket sliders (my favorite dish) - Mini cupcakes (soooooo cute and the perfect size to allow you to try all of the flavors) - Thin mint drunken milkshakes (a perfect way to cap off the night) For drinks, we had a few signature cocktails, lots of wine, and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Danny has a knack for coming up with differentiated cocktails that still bring together all of the flavors you know and love, just at an elevated level. I highly recommend the Santero (mojito adjacent) and my wife loved his bourbon cocktail. We had a few non-alcoholic drinkers and they loved the blood orange margarita. And beyond the food, Danny's staff was perfect. Jessalyn and Camilla were so warm and welcoming and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. The kitchen was a little tight to begin with, but they made more than do with the resources they had and left the kitchen in better condition than how it started. Danny and his sous chef, Cat, were busy and possibly overwhelmed, but didn't show it at all. The cadence the food was sent out was perfect and we loved that we got to chit chat with the whole staff in between courses. When we first met Danny, we told him that with all of the money in the world, we still would want to have a very small wedding reception with a private chef. Danny's personality, food, staff, etc. etc. made it better than we ever could have anticipated.
