The driveway is fine, but the experience was challenging. Details: We hired George Paving for a…read morefull driveway replacement. The project included removing the old asphalt and installing a new base and asphalt layer. There were some delays in starting the project, and during the work we were informed there was more asphalt from our old driveway to be removed than originally estimated, resulting in an additional $3,000 cost. After completion, we noticed a small area of the new driveway where the asphalt had an imperfection - a small area was crumbling. We documented the issue with photos and called Immanuel to ask not just about repairing it, but also to learn what might have caused it, and how could we prevent it going forward. So we were looking for guidance as new driveway owners. However, what we thought was a small issue escalated unexpectedly because Immanuel responded in a very defensive and aggressive manner. It left us with the impression he wasn't at all interested in looking after the customer after the initial work was done and payment received. So the work was of decent quality and a good value, but the communications were problematic. We would have appreciated more collaborative and solution-focused communication. UPDATE May 18: The day after this initial review was posted, Immanuel contacted us. In a few days he was able to come by and fix the small area and answer our questions in a short time, which is all we wanted in the first place. We parted peacefully, but we'll hire another contractor to do our next sealing and maintenance visits.

Brothers & Sons just completed a landscaping project which included amending an area in the front…read moreof our home which had been covered in small river rock. We met with Jesus, the owner, twice, before work even started and he came by daily to check on the progress of our project. We also met with Elizabeth, a co-owner, as work was progressing. Both Jesus and Elizabeth had wonderful ideas for us to consider. Their company built a brick stairway leading from the side of our driveway and up into the planting area at the front of our house. It is exactly what we had in mind, and looks amazing. We also needed some bricks replace/repaired, and their workmanship was excellent. Lastly, they brought in soil and mulch, and planted a number of plants. All work was completed in a timely manner, and their workers were always on-time, and clearly had pride in their work. We truly enjoy our new front and side area, and will use Brothers & Sons for any future projects.

Elizabeth offered some brilliant suggestions for the design that was effective and would help control the water flow that included a retaining wall with integral drain. The crew was professional and hard-working. Beyond the hardscape, the sodding and seeding exceeded my expectations. I did my due diligence and got proposals from 4 companies, but in my opinion no one else offered the creativity and attention to detail that was evident in B&S's proposal. And their price was very good too. I would gladly hire them again.
